I have a problem with it because it doesn't matter what his meaning behind it is, if he is trolling or not. There are a lot of people out there who here such things daily and it becomes normal to say such things.
so yes I think we are allowed to be angry about this. Because it doesn't matter if it is just a joke or not directed to her album or whatever. violence against women is real enough. and if people especially the onces who have such an influence on a lot of people, keep making this normal to say such things it just keeps creating a place where it is normal to look down on woman.

not well worded, English is not my first language, sorry.

And about lana singing about violence against her. Its always personal. she is always singing about herself. never a widespread message about women in general. and she never attacks the men she is singing about. She sings about what she feels, how they make her feel, but nothing more.

Lana writes and releases. I think it was obvious that the music and production was 50/50 it UV seems more natural lana. Like she's sticking by her statement of loving to write and put her story out there. I don't think she feels the need to make more of it, because tbh UV is iconic and a god of an album!
*BTD was 50/50. UV is more of a Lana Album!!!

She also cancelled the performance on BBC and they didn't make a fuss about it, it's very unprofessional for them to boycott her. An artist can cancell a gig at anytime, it's not uncommon.

It surprised me to see how Lana became such a easy target for those so called fans to attack her. She cancelled an event and suddenly she doesn't care about her fans? ( even though she demonstrated over those last three years to be one of the most kindness and generous person ever). Well, I guess that's what you get when your fans are 16 years old who "love" a singer different every month - they just  fail to see her as a person capable of getting sick or having feelings.

Illnesses aren't always physical. It's not the radio station's place to judge what is wrong with her health.

Oh my god, if FKA Twigs is so much better and LP1 is sooo dope, then just leave the forum and stop annoying us.
I am no one who says you have to like everything an artist does and that you can't critizise him/her but REALLY ... if you are so in love with LP1, listen to LP1. LP1 is LP1 and Ultraviolence is Ultraviolence. If you only like sugary popsongs and bubblegum voices, go listen to LP1 and be happy.

UV isn't a pop record...and ME is the only one I've listened to in ages (as a guilty pleasure). 99% of what I listen to is indie rock or music from the 60s/70s, so come off it.

Tbh, everyone here is tired of your daily, pre-pubescent temper tantrums. We get that you didn't like UV, but guess what; opinions are funny things. Many of us do.

    This!

Can't believe I'm saying this, but Guns and Roses really grew on me I know I said terrible things about it but the melody, the verses and the bridge make up for the shitty chorus...

Also Florida Kilos, Hit & Run, MMITPM, My Best Days and Playground.

I've never agreed with a post so much! SO many people dismiss the song for it's mediocre chorus lyrics, but everything else about the song is so terrific! The verses' & bridge's lyrics, the way Lana sings, the humming at the start, the melody, the motorcycle noises...

I got the idea that Ultraviolence isn't supposed to be about the lyrics really. But more about the music and the flow and feeling. Al the chaotic instrumentals, the tempo changes, it presents her state of mind at different times in her life or even in moments. We know Lana can write really well, so I think all the repeating is done on purpose, to shift the focuse from the lyrics on to the flow of the song itself. I think it's also why a lot of the vocals are drowned out by the instrumentals. It's not meant to be carefully listened to, to understand the lyrics, it's meant to be felt.

I said it somewehere else, don't know exactly where but I'll say it again. I don't think Ultraviolence was about lyrics at all. She already sees herself as a writer, with born to die/paradise she has shown she writes her own stuff and she is good at it.
Ultraviolence is about the music. It needs to reflect a mood, the tempo changes and drowned vocals are important. It is a musical reflection of what's going on in her head. From calm to wilder, from serene to confused. Feeling sure about herself, feeling overwhelmed etc. I think all the repetitions in the choruses are on purpose. It's not about getting the lyrics or singing along, it's about laying back and feel the music.
And with simple lyrics thats much easier than be constantly on top of what she is singing.

I can't wait for an maybe addition to ultraviolence, I think it wil either go further down the pad of feeling instead of listening with even more guitars and stuff. Or she maybe will go back to "clearer" times. And lyrics will be important again for her.

But I honestly don't think there will be ep for ultraviolence. Because she said the album was for her done with the cover of the other woman. And all the bonus songs we have are not important to the story. So new music, but not an addition to UV.

    (sorry for my English)

come on, in the born to die era she was in full make up and hair, and every little thing was perfect, and her video's where glam and all. And she got such hate for it.
Yes not from us, we loved it all. But in general she was bashed as manufactured.
So new era, everything low key. I don't know why that's such a bad thing? It's more like her old home style video's. I like the idea.

Must say, the snippet isn't that special for me, but it's only 15 seconds so. I'll just wait for the whole clip.

Last Girl On Earth is very good, all those metaphors etc.
I also love the lyrics for Off To The Races, Shades Of Cool, Blue Jeans, Without You, Is This Happiness, Black Beauty, National Anthem and Money Power Glory alot. And lots of Sirens songs have good lyrics (however they lack interesting sound in return)

Let's be real, OTTR is just one big lyrical masterpiece but my favorite line is: Glass room, perfume, cognac, lilac fumes / Says it feels like heaven to him
Also Old Money is becoming one of my favorites, lyrically: The power of youth is on my mind / Sun set, small town, I'm out of time / Will you still love me when I shine from words but not from beauty

I don't understand the whole complaining and talking about the budget.
Maybe the high - budget videos are not priority for Lana. She finally has made UV - the album without any compromise unlike the BTD. With BTD album she had to get attention and gain fans. Now she has more freedom cause she has already her own group of fans. So that;s why the music and also videos of UV are different and not so glamorous.
I think she doesn't care now about the splendore and money for the video.
IMO the most important for her is that video should reflect vision in her head and it doesn't mean much money.
