Okay cool (pun intended)
-
I answered every single post you directed at me. What more do you want? Blood? Ftr I never said she was lying; I simply said that I feel that, from what we know and what she described, her family were middle class. You disagreed (which is fine) but it's a matter of opinion and you have to accept that median house prices are not going to change my mind. That is all.
-
Give it a rest, Estuaries Half the stuff you're saying is dumb af. Like you're seriously on LANABOREDS quoting median incomes in Lake Placid n shit NO ONE CARES about that or the breakdown you're having over all of this Please cease

I think she should cover the Pet Shop Boys' West End Girls In a mountain town in a little house City boys and rural girls In a mountain town in a little house The city boys and rural girls RU-RAL GIRLS! do do da do da do

Tensions were rising over poverty country lines
-
Okay? I didn't say no one there was poor. It's in my quote, after all. People can believe whatever they want. I'm not saying she's lying, I'm saying that my overall impression (from what we know and what she said) is that they were a middle class family with middle class issues. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Idk why people need to believe she was poor. It's as if Estuaries believes that if your family has any kind of financial problems then that automatically knocks them down to the poverty line, and that isn't true.

Yes I am consumed with fury I'm so glad you called me out Whatever shall I do now

The rhinoplasty and poverty discourse entwined

Idk why you're so invested in pushing this poverty narrative but whatever "Classified as just under middle class" =/= poor. I stand by my post. You can rely on ifs and buts and believe that her family was poor, or you can believe that it's exactly what it looks like: a middle class upbringing. And that thing you posted about median house prices is lacking context: "The per capita income in Lake Placid in 2018 was $34,972, which is middle income relative to New York, and upper middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $139,888 for a family of four. However, Lake Placid contains both very wealthy and poor people as well." ^ That's from Googling "is Lake Placid a wealthy area?" Ultimately, who the fuck cares? She wasn't wealthy, and (I think?) that's her point, I just don't think she needs to be so selectively specific about it.

She might have a cold or smthn

Agreed; everything points to middle class. There is nothing wrong with her acknowledging that. No one thinks any less of her because of it. Idk if anyone else agrees but I just feel like she's not content with people thinking that and wants us to think she was downright poor? She wasn't. She went to ice skating lessons and out on boats and to Italy on exchange and to whatever that Abercrombie and Fitch thing with Lindsay Lohan was. Those are not things that people from poor backgrounds can afford for their kids to do. I'm not saying life was perfect but whose is? That rant was very unnecessary. Just say your family was middle class, tell everyone to fuck off, and go.

All the more reason for her to tour Australia
-
Oh thx I don't think she grasps that what she's describing is still middle class - a woodworker and a teacher is a double income household, at least (which I think was not as common in the 90s). I'm not saying she was rich but she wasn't poor, either. Most families probably would need financial aid to put one of their 3 kids in a private boarding school. Let it go, sis ETA ultimately idgaf what her financial situation was but I do think there's a clash of perspectives

Did she make a statement or smthn and then take it doen? I didn't see

Look I'm not gonna mince words (and I don't mean this unkindly, just being honest): Lana's voice > Holly's The fact that Lana's voice follows Holly's just highlights it It's honestly a really useless collab; like what is the point of putting Lana on your song when she sounds better than you do (other than $$$) I'm not saying Holly is without talent but she's done herself a disservice here by letting the listener hear how much clearer and smoother Lana's voice is And they don't sound different enough to make it interesting Don't need to listen again; will forget it exists

I can't like this post cos of the bug but you're not alone Idk why people here hate on Stevie; she is literally one of the most iconic female artists ever I mean if you want meaningful lyrics and melodies look no further than Fleetwood Mac and her solo work The fanbase needs to stop sleeping on this legendary woman ETA and if you explore her work you will discover many instances where she has very obviously influenced Lana's work

I'm thinking that it may be relative Like now that she's rich af she looks back and thinks she was poor before My family is middle class, but if I won the lottery today I'd probably look back in 10 years and think we were poor af too
-
I'm sorry but when I read this my mind went straight to - They write that I'm rich and I am - but not how they think I grew up in a mountain town in a little house And we struggled as much as everyone else In the town of 900.

I actually wasn't commenting about him specifically because tbh I haven't taken much notice of him. BUT there is definitely another group (idk if they're all friends?) and I know for a fact she dislikes at least one of the girls (and I can't reveal how cos it'll expose people I don't wanna implicate in this discussion). I've seen videos of her being friendly towards this girl for whatever reason. We all tolerate people we don't like, for different reasons. Lana has the added pressure of being famous and having to worry about "LANA DEL REY SNUBS FANS" type headlines. I'm not saying she doesn't genuinely like seeing some fans, but yeah And re: the frequency of events: some of these people simply see a location in an IG story and go find her. And it's always the same people. I think the difference here is that you seem to have Ricardo in mind specifically and I'm talking about a group of 5 or so people. And the people in this group definitely go out of their way to find her, and as I said, at least one of them definitely makes her uncomfortable.

It's possible to be aware of all of it and not think that any of it is okay. If you think these people don't try to one-up each other, you're kidding yourself. I'm not saying that they all have malicious intent but really, all of it is over-the-top and obsessive. There are just differing degrees ranging from cringe to dangerous. Is it fine to go somewhere she is going (if she publicly declares the time/location) and say hi? Sure. But I think anyone who is aspiring to do that every single time needs to sort themselves out because it is obsessive and weird. "Teehee, I'm a Lana stan" does not excuse it. I mean if we found out that a particular papparazzo behaved this way - went everywhere she went and tried to engage her every time - we'd collectively hate them, but we're just meant to excuse "fans" who do it. Nah fuck that I think doing this at an event about another artist, to the point where they disrupted others there (including said artist), is a new low. With that said I'm sure they dgaf what I, or anyone else, thinks. This is all just my humble opinion.

Same Idk what they get out of it tbh? I love Lana but even if I lived in LA, I wouldn't need to go every place she says she's going ... I would feel weird (and I'd think she would think it was weird, too). Even though she's out in public it feels icky when she takes a pic of herself at a market or whatever and 30 mins later those people are there

Has anything actually been sent out for this? I never bothered signing up and still see no reason to
