This song and lyric are from when she was dating Sean Larkin and she'd go with him on excursions to the county jail and laugh at all the people who couldn't afford bail She followed this up by posing outside a jail with Jack Donoghue as a "fuck you Sean, now I go to jail with someone else" message "You try to push me out but I just find my way back in"

Far Away Angle of Super tall 'Aliens' Spotted on Camera in Brazil
Rorman Nockwell replied to MakingOut's topic in World News
I think they are already here and amongst us But if they worked out how to get all the way here then they're definitely smart enough not to reveal themselves -
Just a reminder that @Lindsay Lohantraded for LMLYLAW stems instead of for Honeymoon outtakes because Honeymoon "was a terrible concept from start to finish" We can't have nice things because of his bad taste Vote accordingly
-
Didn't wanna be nominated ANYWAY Jk gl everyone Vote for @Lindsay Lohan worst taste I've never known anyone to have such horrendous taste Thinks LMLYLAW is her best song wtf

Lana, Ben, Ed, and Jack (Antonoff) are all on Survivor. I am leaving off Chunk, Charlie and Rob because usually they don't allow relatives unless it's a special relative edition which this isn't Who does Lana vote off first, second, third and fourth, and why? My analysis is as follows: I am in Covid isolation and am bored as fuck so future analyses may follow. You're welcome.

I am going to explain, in purely mathematical terms, why I am Lipster of the Year for 2023: 2 + 0 + 2 + 3 = 2 + 5 = 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = L + I + P + S + T + E + R 2 + 0 + 2 + 3 = R + O + R + MAN (3 = M + A + N) = Rorman, 2023 Lipster of the Year Don't be one of those idiots who argues with science

"Lola" by the Kinks: Transphobic or nah?
Rorman Nockwell replied to Rorman Nockwell's topic in Music
Yeah I agree - I mean I like the song and I listen to it from time to time (and I gave my opinion of it above) but I just wonder how others perceive it Listening to a song doesn't necessarily mean that you agree with the meaning or even that you like the artist as a person, in some cases I guess I was considering it from the point of view of if it were released today, how would it stand up -
Particularly interested to hear the opinions of trans folk, but all opinions are welcome For those who aren't familiar with the song, it was written in 1970 and the lyrics are: I met her in a club down in old Soho Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like coca cola C-O-L-A, Cola She walked up to me and she asked me to dance I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said Lola L-O-L-A, Lola La-la-la-la Lola Well, I'm not the world's most physical guy But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine Oh my Lola La-la-la-la Lola Well, I'm not dumb but I can't understand Why she walked like a woman but talked like a man Oh my Lola La-la-la-la Lola La-la-la-la Lola Well, we drank champagne and danced all night Under electric candlelight She picked me up and sat me on her knee And said "Dear boy, won't you come home with me?" Well, I'm not the world's most passionate guy But when I looked in her eyes, well I almost fell for my Lola La-la-la-la Lola La-la-la-la Lola Lola La-la-la-la Lola La-la-la-la Lola I pushed her away I walked to the door I fell to the floor I got down on my knees Then I looked at her and she at me Well, that's the way that I want it to stay And I always want it to be that way for my Lola La-la-la-la Lola Girls will be boys and boys will be girls It's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world, except for Lola La-la-la-la Lola Well, I left home just a week before And I'd never ever kissed a woman before But Lola smiled and took me by the hand And said "Dear boy, I'm gonna make you a man" Well, I'm not the world's most masculine man But I know what I am and I'm glad I'm a man And so is Lola La-la-la-la Lola La-la-la-la Lola Lola La-la-la-la Lola La-la-la-la Lola Lola La-la-la-la Lola La-la-la-la Lola Lola La-la-la-la Lola La-la-la-la Lola Lola La-la-la-la Lola La-la-la-la Lola Lola La-la-la-la Lola La-la-la-la Lola The mv (it's comic book style, with added comments not in the lyrics) My opinion (and I'm happy to be corrected/argued with) is that it contains some problematic language but is overall a progressive take (especially in the context of the 1970s). Lola is either a trans woman or a cross dresser, and nowhere in the song is she misgendered (except maybe right at the end ... which I'll get to). Lyrics like "but talks to like a man" and "I'm glad I'm a man and so is Lola" are questionable. The latter could mean that Lola is glad to be a man, though? Maybe Lola is gender fluid? There's a lot of purposeful ambiguity. I think my favourite lyric is "it's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world, except for Lola" Please post your opinions and thoughts!

Your Personal Lana SOTY?
Rorman Nockwell replied to Make me your Dream Life's topic in Lana Thoughts
A&W Easy choice The mental imagey/world that this song evokes is above all of her other recent releases imo You could just about make a movie based on it Annoyed that she didn't do a really dark mv to go with it -
She probably just broke up with her boyfriend or smthn We all know she'll be back Idk what Barrie's deal is, though. I worry for that man. He seems to have really been struggling since his mum died.

Can someone fill me in pls? As usual I woke up and didn't see any messages What did Barrie say? I can't see anything on his account about Lana

Israel's genocide of Palestinians and war on the Middle East
Rorman Nockwell replied to Ultra Violet's topic in World News
Legit, speaking as an Australian (and I think I said this near the beginning of the thread, not sure), our media and politicians were very pro-Israel at the beginning. Then people got mad and started protesting, and the language changed. I do not think that Western governments expected their people to care about the plight of the Palestinians. They think we will just fall into line, but gen z won't put up with as much shit as the millennials and boomers -

Yeah I saw someone pushing a person in a wheelchair along the highway in Gaza and it made me so sad thinking about what might become of them, and others with disabilities It's difficult enough being an able-bodied adult there; what hope is there for others -
