Blue Banisters - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll

Lyrically, they might as well be poems because sonically they both offer very little All I hear in Text Book is "I went out with my friends to a BLM protest (and I want everyone to know), all my ex-boyfriends were scum, Sean Larkin reminds me of my dad and I wish he were here something something river river" Each to their own, though -

Trying to understand why people keep picking on Beautiful when Text Bore and Wildfire Wallflower are right there -
Idk if people outside of Australia know who she is but Delta Goodrem I also really dislike anything Coldplay that's not pre 2005
-
Yeah I think that's what @bunoner was trying to express but he's very awkward and strange
-
You are so weird Why are you dragging up threads people would rather forget in a futile attempt to make them relevant to BB
-
I agree. There's very little progression in any of them sonically. She prioritised what she wanted to convey lyrically in those songs over the music, and it shows. Since my first listen they have always reminded me of spoken version of VBBOTG. Of the singles, Arcadia is the best sonically but the worst lyrically, and just to throw another unpopular opinion in on top of an already unpopular opinion , I think Blue Banisters itself is the most balanced of the four singles (but it's still a medeiocre track)

I think it's okay to like and dislike aspects of the album and idk why some people need it to be all good or all bad It's not even a week old and needs time to settle -
I think she might've been in love with the idea of being with him and living in the country surrounded by normal people and getting to have a normal life without the LA fuckery Apparently she got along well with his friends and family and she liked Tulsa so much that she was going to buy a house there So I guess when you've got your heart set not only on the person but on this whole new life, it's difficult to let go of

So - We have Young and Beautiful, and now Beautiful. Do you think she'll do Old and Beautiful in 25 years? -
Maybe S*** constantly wore synthetic jumpers that gave off static We can add that to all the other HORRIBLE qualities he clearly had

How is Arcadia beating Beautiful in the poll this is a disgrace -
It's honestly just a pity party and I cannot get past the lines with the cars Although we all know what she means, the way those lyrics are worded just doesn't make sense to me Of course it's her favourite
-
Well fuck I thought that line in Beautiful was, "eccentricity's holding me back" (not "he's interested, he's holding me back") and I like mine better so I'm going to pretend

I actually love this painting sm It's just so wholesome and I wish she'd show us more of them In fact I kinda hope one of the "absolutely mad" projects she was referring to involves actual, visual art. I'd love it so much -

I agree; he's also a massive cokehead (confirmed by Halsey) and the timing fits I can imagine him saying all that stuph to her -

I just thought S*** because city vs country vibes but idk Honestly I think most of the new songs are about him especially after what she said on the live -

I think Dealer was the most streamed on Spotify out of the non singles when I looked earlier -

I need someone to make a metal remix of Dealer -
I think it's to add beach vibes? Seagulls? Idk they don't bother me but in my country there's no shortage of noisy arse birds (or noisy arse animals in general) I am, however, annoyed by the lyric about laughing at poor people. That's incredibly cringe coming from a multi millionaire
-
Yes I was agreeing with you
-
But that's what it really is

Lalalalalala unicorns, beautiful unicorns And that's final

Tbh I wouldn't mind more Lana x Miles I think their voices work well together
