  1. I honestly think that the disservice done to Brite Lites and what might be part of why I don't love it is the fact that it follows Pawn Shop Blues, which I think is a hard track to follow. Besides that, though, I've always thought the tracklist was genius. The way that each track flows perfectly into the next one is part of what makes the album what it is for me. That PMIAM to Smarty transition...literally seamless . AKA as a whole has so many smart little details through it's instrumentals, you have to listen to it multiple times to notice everything. The only reason I ever would want an AKA re-release would be to get some David Kahne bonus tracks that didn't make the cut. I know that Axl Rose Husband (studio version) and Ben (studio version) are sitting somewhere on that man's hard-drive and I would very much so like to hear them
  2. I don't know how unpopular this is, but Trash Magic, Disco or Get Drunk should've been put on AKA instead of Brite Lites. The Steve Mertens demo is fantastic, but the final version is kind of a disaster?? Like, I like and it's fun, but it's really incohesive with the album and is generally a track I'd survive without. The only part of the final version I really love is the "the film is fading look at me" section
  3. The Trio is so out of place on the album but it's fun so I really don't care

  6. I'm gonna go in order of album and do about two songs for each: 1. Pawn Shop Blues 2. Yayo (AKA Version) 3. Off to the Races 4. Video Games 5. Ride 6. West Coast 7. Brooklyn Baby 8. Terrance Loves You 9. Honeymoon 10. Love 11. Get Free 12. Mariners Apartment Complex 13. Hope is a Dangerous Thing 14. The Greatest 15. White Dress 16. Chemtrails 17. Wildflower Wildfire 18. Arcadia I picked three for NFR just because that album was so huge and influential, and this doesn't necessarily reflect my favorites, but rather what I think are Lana's most well known/iconic songs
  7. Valley of the Dolls being considered at some point for this album is so interesting to me. I wonder if she saw that it leaked and looked into revisiting it
  8. It depends on the song for me. Like, for example, I think that AKA has some of the best lyrics Lana's ever written but I also think that Blue Banisters does. And then there's a few older lyrics that just make me cringe, same going for recent lyrics. That was just a long way to say I'm somewhere in the middle on that lol
  9. The first line of the album: "I guess you could call it text book, I was looking for the father I wanted back" The last line of the album: "I'll always be right here, closer to you than your next breath, my dear"

  12. Damn You is bad and one of Lana's worst unreleased songs I couldn't care less about the final version leaking (although I did like that alt. Chris Braide version of it)
  13. 1. If You Lie Down With Me 2. Black Bathing Suit 3. Thunder 4. Wildflower Wildfire 5. Dealer My top five literally changes every day
  14. Okay, so final vinyl update. After spending time with the album, I think I'm gonna go with the standard cover. It just fits the album so well and it's one of my favorite Lana album covers ever But if I ever decide to buy multiple copies of an album (which I don't think I will), the Target cover is joining my collection next
  15. So after listening to the album more, this is how I think I would rearrange the tracklist 1. Text Book (I've grown to love it as the opener) 2. Blue Banisters 3. Arcadia 4. If You Lie Down With Me 5. Interlude - The Trio 6. Black Bathing Suit (this might be unpopular but I love BBS after the interlude) 7. Dealer 8. Beautiful 9. Violets for Roses 10. Thunder 11. Wildflower Wildfire 12. Living Legend 13. Nectar of the Gods 14. Cherry Blossom 15. Sweet Carolina

  19. I honestly wouldn't mind if this was turned into more of a country/covers album just because of what I think Lana's definition of country is. She seems to be more into classic country, so 50s-70s (think Skeeter Davis, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, etc.). I can even see her doing something similar to the beginning of The Trio or spaghetti western inspired stuff. Even Hey Blue Baby and I Must Be Stupid For Being So Happy had more of an old school vibe to them
  20. I think my favorite little tidbit of information we got on the livestream yesterday was that Arcadia was originally written as a poem right after her and Sean broke up. I really hope we get to listen to Lana talk more about the album, there's always so many interesting behind the scenes facts about each one
  21. I guarantee you she forgot about the digital only comment the second she said it lol. But anyways, since we know that Mike Dean is most likely a producer on the next album, I'm looking forward to it. There's no way it'll happen, but I'd love if she worked with David Kahne again. I think he would suit her newer, more mature sound really well. The AKA version of Yayo reminds me a bit of songs on Blue Banisters instrumentally. It'll be nice to not be in a constant pre-release state though
  22. Dealer is starting to get attention on TIktok I remember people wanting it to go viral (and me too lol), but I never actually thought that was possible...but it might be
  23. Dealer, Black Bathing Suit and Thunder being the most streamed non-singles as they should be
  24. I assumed that "mother" was the word Lana was talking about never using before too (although technically she said it in Old Money so I think she meant more that she'd never used it in the way she did on this album), which makes the songs where she says it almost more heartbreaking. This album is purely Lana's story and that's something that is present in every single song. The insight we did get on the album in general in the livestream, although it wasn't a lot, was really interesting to me.
