I really like the song. I typically like darker, slower (i.e. boring to most people) stuff so I'm pretty happy. I hope we get it in full soon. Maybe hold out on the criticisms before hearing the whole thing? I thought Big Eyes would be amazing from the snippet we had and then it turned out pretty mediocre, so sometimes the snippets aren't good indications of how the song will be - I'll be real though and say they usually make the song seem better than it is but lets give the song the benefit of the doubt.

Why people need to be so negative about a ballad written for a movie? It doesn't need to sound different from her usual stuff because that's the reason why the producers wanted her on the soundtrack in first place. It's a classic ballad with a cinematic feel and it fits perfectly the tone of the trailer.    
 
But something about the timing of this release tell me this was last-minute decision to put her on the soundtrack ( maybe to get some buzz for the movie).

I keep thinking what I WANT from Honeymoon, and then I imagine what we'll get ... but in the end, whatever Lana does I'm sure I'll be happy with. I couldn't have predicted what Ultraviolence would sound like - it was so different from BTD and Paradise. But I was and am so happy with it, and now I can't imagine my little life without it. Bring it on, Queen Lana!

I would kill for an acoustic album! I really want her to rerecord Fordham Road, Junky Pride and Pawn Shop Blues. These songs really show what a great lyricist she is and they deserve an official release! But yeah and acoustic album would be great!

Not to keep harping on this song, but ... If you listen to the clip, it sounds like there is more music after "this is the end" - and then the trailer cuts to "come on boy, let's go." So I don't think the lyrics will be the way they look now once we hear the whole song. Has anyone seen the movie yet? I'm hoping to see it tomorrow. Maybe some of these questions will have answers soon! haha Although someone said the song isn't in the movie. ????? I hope it is!

I'm surprised at all this backlash. First of all, we have one minute of a song and are already saying it's lame? We don't know how these lyrics fit in with the rest of the song. I LOVE this song so far; can't wait to hear the whole thing. As for Big Eyes and I Can Fly, man, those were gorgeous. I agree, the lyrics weren't the best, but they are amazing songs (to me).  This is soothing, magical, and expressive - I love it. She never disappoints.

I mean, they sounds so Tumblr-ish, vain, etc but think about them. Intentionally or not, they're deep.

The trumpets are the best thing about Big Eyes, without them it would have been a superboring song. They are the only "spice" BE really has and add up to the cinematic feeling of the chorus.

Of course the lyrics in the trailer are simple. They don't want it to be distracting from the actual footage in the trailer do they? I really liked it, it made me feel in the mood for this kind of movie, so it works. The ending 'so beautiful' sounds like 'and beautiful' in Young & Beautiful. That was probably what they were going for.
