  1. Would it be weird to leave my number here, in case one of you does want to ATTEMPT to meet up and say hi? Is that just bad internetting?
  2. lol well I did mention this is my first time going, and also I don't expect hoards of people to come visit me, I just want to see people at the show. I'll wander a bit. The video I'm making is pretty straight forward. Footage of the event, Lana, fans, etc. I'll post it on a few Lana blogs and youtube as well. I edit on a Lana Facebook page and most of the fans following the page are international fans who won't be able to attend this particular tour. I'm trying to cover it for them as well. Jeez, Futuretro, thanks for helping a brotha out.. I don't know anyone else who's attending and I just want to have fun and possibly meet. Mind over Matter, Will over both! I'd hide you guys in my box and we'd eat pizza :D Mayhem ensues..
  3. So, if you all would like to come visit us in our box, that would be more than welcome! Come say Hi, and possibly allow me to record you all saying hello to Lana for a video I'm making of the event. I'm so ready! See ya'll on the flip side!
  4. Hi, I will be attending the show. I'm going with my friend Lee, he's not a LB member. We'll be seated in Box C-20 and we will also be in the VIP lounge. So far, Lana has been keeping to the setlist (which is fine by me), but if she switched it up with one song of my preference, I'd want to hear an unreleased track like Axl Rose Husband. That song is everything to me. I also really want her to perform Yayo. Flipside would be a great way to close out. From the actual setlist, the songs I am most anxious to hear Lana perform are the unreleased tracks UATW, YCBTB, SK, and OTTR is one of my favorite released tracks. I'm excited for the rest of the setlist as well, but I'm just so stoked that I'm getting to hear Lana bringing unreleased tracks back to life. Lana just performed tonight @ The Hollywood Bowl in LA. She wore white. The last two shows before that she wore dresses in similar cuts but in blue, then the next night in red. I predict Lana may stick to short dresses in the same flair cut in colors of red, white and blue maybe some gold, and possibly dresses with floral prints that verge on looking tropical. She may dress warmer in Mountain View. We shall see if she gets grungier in style as she travels north to our area and then on to WA. This is my first time seeing Lana and Courtney, I'm very excited. This is my first time at the Shoreline but my friend has been to a bunch of shows there, and knows his way around. I am the only other person to post here so far, are we the only ones?
  5. 1: When did you first discover Lana Del Rey - Summer of 2011 2: What was the first song that made you fall in love with her music - Without You 3: Favorite Lana hairstyle - Hair to her ass and I'm partial to redheads 4: Favorite live performance - Without You at Amoeba 5: Favorite lyric - There's nothing from you that I wanna take, I just want to be like you (Maybe love you just a little bit) PLEASE 6: Would you make out with Lana if you had the chance to? With unwarranted vigor 7: Favorite facial feature - It's the bone structure (Cheeks, Brows, Nose) and the silhouettes of it. Her eyes sing to me 8: What's one thing you don't like about Lana? I don't like the fact that she hasn't let me smell her hair or touch her feet or.......... 9: Have you ever met Lana? - All within good time 10: Who's you favorite artist after Lana? - I'm passively into other artists, LDR is the only contemporary artist that I fangirl over 11: Would you say you're obsessed or just a really big fan? - I'm a fiend 12: What if Lana was secretly an evil zombie would you still love her? LDR is an evil zombie, she ate my heart and she smoked up my brain

  7. Independent Operator = someone who gets paid for a particular task When placed within the scope of the conversation where she says that, it sort of sounds like she's insinuating prostitution. She says it when they're talking about going out and meeting a new stranger everyday, hopping on motorcycles etc.
  8. I like Lolita Lana.. with some bohemian airs to her
  9. cinema doesn’t need to make sweeping statements about society. “Oh, does this mean you feel this way about women and men in general?” No. It’s this particular woman in this particular place going through these particular things. That woman does not represent all women — and this is very important. - David Lynch
  10. such is life.. I saw the interview describing this, about a year ago.. I expected worse.. it's okay.. but I thought it would be more graphic.. then again, maybe these are the tamer clips.
  11. did you watch it on youtube via tumblr link? or did you just stare at the gifs? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptMszHvv3zQ these are the "snippets" of an assumed larger project
  12. I was going to rip it, but I have such minimal space on the old hard drive.. grr
  13. The video isn't on vimeo anymore.. nor are the still shots of lana.. that sucks
  14. The magnificence, it don't make sense to you.
  15. Hello angry & opinionated human beings. I can only speak for myself, so I will. Being raped is no fun. I've had experience with that. I always have hated when people want to mask the problem of rape & sexual abuse. For a long time I felt like "I was the only one who knew how it felt". That whole "you were asking for it" argument.. As I got older and submersed myself into darker art forms that showcase all sides of the human psyche & human behaviors, I came to an understanding. It's a very real, human experience not to be portrayed like a "Lifetime special". There has been some comfort in seeing rape portrayed as real as possible, because it allows people who have never been through that situation to gain some understanding and compassion towards people who have gone through it. I've read autobiographies of people describing how they were raped or abused, I've spoken to people who went through it. Bonding with others helped heal my pain. I became unashamed. I wasn't at fault. By being ashamed about sharing my past, I felt that put me at fault. I wasn't making myself available to other people who need to know they are not alone/at fault. Sharing an experience doesn't glorify that experience, it humanizes it for others to relate to it. Relating to a rape scene shouldn't be a shameful thing. It's staring a problem in the face and saying something about it. I commend actors who want to portray rape scenes properly. Any artist who makes something ugly instead of making something perfect & beautiful. The ones who tell the scary stories w/o endings. It should make you feel something. Pain, confusion, anger, fear, etc. but not towards the actors & people involved in creating the art. Just towards the action itself. I once had a teacher in cultural anthropology who refused to believe that our predecessors could have also been rapists. She claimed that rape was a new fangled action, that came along more recently in the history of humans. That kind of thinking insulted me a bit, because I feel like rape is very common, but also so frowned upon, it is silenced throughout history. If you silence an artist from conveying something that has influenced them, you are diluting the truth. Rape is real, and it shouldn't be something we want to close our eyes, ears, and hearts from because it is wrong. That is the wrong attitude to have. We should be discussing it. We should be able to look at a video like this one and be able to learn from it. Realize that someone needs to talk about it, or at least have an outlet to express their thoughts on it.
  16. Money Power Glory & Because of You as a Scarface themed video.. both of those songs are so empowering in their acceptance to what people think of Lana, and what she wants to say about herself and after all the crazy media bs, it's fitting to make something fearless and personal. Money, Power & Glory always reminds me of Tony Montana in Scarface saying "In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women.", but you know, Lana wants a more ambitious reward than pleasures of the flesh, Glory. I like Because of You to go with it cuz it's very autobiographical, and "look at me now, I have everything" seems like a Scarface mentality. Plus we all know Lana's Scarface referencing runs deep. Yayo wasn't even commonly used as a coke reference until Scarface was made and that is Lana's shit. Just one example of how Scarface has influenced Lana.
  17. but it was a cover for all of the trouble you got into..
  18. I had to search that wretched Gangnam style shit.. "Walk me to the river, see the willow bowing.."
  19. "Do you believe in the kindness of strangers? Who are you? Are you in touch with all your darkest fantasies? Have you created a life for yourself where you can experience them? Lana has."
