  1. So A gatekeeper is someone who guards an entry, a gate, and decides who gets in and who doesn't. That's their job, their responsibility. Her carefully dropping the keys to said gate as soon as she's off duty means she does not really care for her task, she does not identify with it and only does it when she has to. Could be a metaphor for living a life you don't want to live, having to do stuff you don't really care for. Lana wants to be a singer and songwriter, but the music business forces her to do all sorts of other stuff she does not want to (e.g. dealing with paparazzis and harsh critics)
  2. You see, I've also been called rude or negative because I criticised stuff other people hyped. Everyone should have their opinion and I think it's great you can elaborate yours so good. Criticism is important for art either way, as it can be extremely constructive. And I'm totally there for arguments about music, as long as they deliver good counterpoints (something a lot of the members here are not capable of, they are either YAAAASSing or talking about how something is THE.WORST.THING.EVER.) BUT Coming to the thread everyday to post on and on about why you think it's such a bad album is not really much above coming here just to post how much you love song X. You made your point, you worded it well, however if there is no real discussion about it going on, then it's quickly getting annoying if you just keep shoving out negativity.
  3. There is a difference between discussing/ critique and beating a dead horse. You guys made your point. Several times. We all got how you feel about the album. And you are entitled to your opinion. Right now it is actually reaching a level where you ARE in fact just spreading negativity for the sake of it though.
  4. Yawn. She comes up for 1000 apologies for not putting out stuff. Then she constantly blames people for ripping her off. I have a feeling we do not get new music because it's HER who is a nightmare to work with for anyone else involved in her projects
  5. Lol whut? People have been overrating it since the moment it was released
  6. Lana was being over-sensitive with her unprofessional reaction and saying she never used a persona is obviously a lie.
  7. I looove Basta Ya. Had it on repeat this summer
  8. Fun fact: you are entitled to have an opinion on LDRs music. You can exchange that opinion with other people who have different opinions on that topic. Without insulting them. Without overdramatically downgrading stuff they might like. Grow up, we are talking music and not american politics
  9. Y'all are terrible. Although NFR has some flaws, it's a good album. You may not like it but could you stop to pass your personal opinion down as a fact?
  10. To be fair - the Dear Tommy songs we heard so far often had standout-quality. Cherry, Shadow, Time Rider and I Can Never Be Myself are all among my favourite Chromatics-Tracks
  11. Haha I love how they just skipped Dear Tommy for now and suprise-dropped a 7th album. Chromatics aren't really very versatile when it comes to their overall sound and aesthetics, but "Closer To Grey" is still pretty nice to have. "You're No Good", "Touch Red" and the title track are my favourite songs so far. "On The Wall" sounds a bit like a tribute to the Night Drive album.
  12. It's definitly a great autumn album. I love how it feels like it's a new approach to music for her while still being classic-CW-music. It's a bit more "epic folk" compared to the introverted, slowed down sound of Unknown Rooms. Some of the songs remind me of Marissa Nadler alot. Her vocal qualities really show on this album! Can't pin my favourite tracks down yet. Deranged For Rock & Roll is definitly a strong song, probably the catchiest one she ever released. American Darkness has this wonderful noire-ish vibe and I loved it as soon as it came out as a single and it hyped me up for the album a lot (wasn't too impressed with The Mother Road) I love how Be All Things is so calm and peaceful and how it's sound really embodies its message. When Anger Turns To Honey is another quite unusual song when looking at Chelseas repertoire. I ike the soft beats and the way she sings on it. And then there is Prelude To A Dream Play, which has this Lovecraft-ian creepiness and would have perfectly fit on the second half of Abyss aswell. Last but not least, the title track "Birth Of Violence" is an excellent track aswell.
  13. Just proves that vaping will make you look like a fool
  14. She obviously has and I don'r know why she startef to deny it
  15. Ahahaha so we're back at the acapella snippet phase where she does lackluster versions of great songs she'll never do in full anyway, acting as if she'd be doing the fans a favor by performing tracks from a new album on said albums promo tour.
  16. Not hard to imagine. It's cheap. Well not everyone has this cult-ish approach to famdom. The album was bad and bland and if she csn't do better then she should probably take another hiatus
  17. I hate how she and especially her fandom push this romanticised "the other woman" narrative. If you are aware that your lover is cheating on his/her partner you are just as disgusting as the cheater himself.
  18. Clementine is the first Halsey song since Badlands that's not shit
  19. Some of you need to work out or get fucked hard or to drink a hot chocolate or whatever will help you to calm down and not fight over questions of personal taste in such a dogmatic way.
  20. The mastering is not good. No matter what you say. The album is still great but T HE M A S T E R I N G I S B A D and there is nothing artistic about it.
  21. I'd say the same if I'd sing the same songs for 7 ears and had a playback backtrack to rely on
  22. Apart from Video Games, Blue Jeans and - occasionally - Summertime Sadness she should not do ANY BtD songs anymore. Born To Die is a great song but her live performances are meh and while the live arrangement of OTTR is cool, she was never actually managing to SING it in full. The medley was a cute idea but it's old now and she should sing sone full songs instead. Why not do West Coast and MTWBT instead? Having Cherry and WM on the set list is not actually a problem sinxe they are so short. The rest of the setlist on a tour called "The Norman F*cking Rockwell Tour" should be from NFR though - Cinnamon, FIILY, The Greatest, California, HTD, HIAB ... so many possibilities and she choses Doin Tine with a full playback
  23. The acoustic version of True is actually pretty decent.
