  1. Thunder Revenant liked a post in a topic by StealingTheMoonlight in Lana featured as Comic Character on a remix cover, and may become a character
She looks so hot in the comic. I really do wish she would've stayed with her red hair, it was so pretty.
  2. Thunder Revenant liked a post in a topic by DominicMars in Lana to feature on Barrie's upcoming album!
Maybe it will feature someone that sounds like Lana, but in the credits it will be some random ass name
  3. Slumdog liked a post in a topic by Thunder Revenant in If you could change one of Lana's albums...
I would add YCBTB to the BtD playlist, I would put it after VG and before DMD.
And I would have left DMD more like the demo was, same here with TIWMUG and (especially) Lolita andLucky Ones. The LO demo with the drums is soooo much better anf the Lolita one with the orchestra is just perfect, whilst the album version sounds so remix-y.

I have NO problem with simple, unpolished videos with atmosphere and meaning.

However, tell me, what kind of meaning has this? I mean, if you search hard enough you can make up something, but I don't see anything intentional in there. It's just a super lazy execution of what could have been a good idea.

Nice theory but I feel like some people here are overinterpretating a bit because they want things to be like they imagine. There are things you could see as references, but I highly doubt that Lana did a record about this Family. Like the tree thibg ... this are not some super-rare trees or any kind of unique arrangement. Its some kind of common tree. Or the stretched out arms ... I think you really start to see the things you want to see at this point.

Btw I don't want to interfere with anyone's spiritual believs, but let's not forget that in the end it was a group of almost only white, heterosexual people from the middle/upperclass who idolized a man who left his family and surrounded himself with young women.
And as far as you can tell from her statements, Lanas cult-experiences, with whatever sect/cult, wasnt a positive one.

Agree with you on the epicness thing but PLEASE no more monologues ... they are sooo kitsch-y and annoying and everyone screms "so personal!" ....More acting and less monologue would have been very good for Tropico and the so-beloved ridologue also feels so awkward for me, especially the second part.
I dont think an epic video needs a monologue

but I also don't buy this "she's making art, you can interpret do much, so simple but good, so deeeep" excuse anymore. Eitherway she does a good atmospheric video ala Summerime Sadness, Born To Die or Blue Jeans, atmospheric homemade vids or she could maybe start doing really interesting, storytelling vids. She definitly HAS the potential but I often have the feeling she's just to lazy.
and with storytelling vids I don't mean Katy Pery storytelling. Lana could have the potential for a short-movie-esque musicvideo (what tropico should have been) like the wonderful musicvideo for the yeah yeah yeahs' "sacrilege"

Half of the vidoe is her, walking through a garden and singing. Then, suddenly, an old man with a walking stick appears and screams "WHAT ARE YOU HIPPIES DOIN IN MAH GARDEN?" and Lana and the guy holding the Iphone start to run panicky, while the song still plays. In the end of the video, the phoneguy runs behind Lana and suddenly stumbles. The camera turns black. The last scene is Lana in the dark, holding the phonecamera close to her face and crying.

Blue Jeans didn't had too much going on, but it was atmospheric and still somehow told us a story.
I don't hate this new video, but you can just see that there was 0 effort put into it and the scenes y'sll are trying to interpret seem very random to me. There is not really any passion behind it, that's what's bothering me. And however she will explain and make excuses for this in interwievs, the video will stay boring. Not because it was filmed on a phone or because it has no plot but because it was filmed without any motivation.

Looks like they had no persmission to film there or they were embaressed to run around like that

This would explain the way she looks behind her before entering the chapel and the "there's someone there" thing at the end

Considering this last scene, it could almost be a tribute to the Blair Witch Projekt

Pretty sure she's singing "like the winter we're not in".
It makes the most sense unlike those "let the winter winter in" or "like the winner winner in".

And I also think the "if you're by my side" makes most sense and is actually quite obvious to hear.
