Is it too late to do song rankings? Eh, probably. HTD has been growing on me, even the jingle bells. Definitely a grower song. It's actually kinda slick tbh. My bias against everything new-BAR has cooled, so it's not a pain to listen to for me now. But now I'm finally understanding what people meant when they said it was boring (either version). The story told in the lyrics really made it for me in the first place, so with a less dark interesting story, it's just kind of song that's there and I forget that I'm listening to halfway through. Doin' Time isn't too bad of a last-minute addition.

So, like, is the censored-cover "NFR!" version the one they sell on the shelves at Walmart? Because otherwise, what's the point?

The blue vinyl looks really nice

I think if you want to have a magical first listen, then you're going to want to have the most "pure" experience by listening to the version that is in the official release of the full album. Even if you listen to the single version ahead of time, you'll want to keep the album version in there for your first listen through. But imo, both are good. The single version is perhaps more of a bop.

In regard to the different FIILYs:

I think it's both. I don't think she should be calling anyone out, but it would be cool if she at least publically acknowledged the issue before going after other people's politics.

Just because you don't agree with an opinion doesn't mean it's a bad opinion. Just because someone has a critical opinion of something doesn't mean they hate it. Just because a conversation makes you uncomfortable doesn't mean other people aren't allowed to have it.

Idgaf either way if someone leaks shit or not, but I don't think freaking out on people on the internet over it is a good look. Like, if you get it early, cool! Good fortune! If you don't, whatever. You don't lose out by waiting until the intended release date.

I've always heard the Lorde speculation, but I could also believe it's about Gaga. They were both from the same underground scene in NYC, and Lana wrote that "So Legit" song about her. Plus I remember really old (pre-LDR persona, like 2009) Facebook posts of her trashing Gaga. Something about not understanding the hype.

Her going out of her way to attack Kanye's politics before so many other people's is really annoying to me. Like her whole thing to him on Twitter, which led to the beef with Azealia Banks. Not only was that whole thing cringe-worthy (especially that faux-hood "I won't not fuck you the fuck up" and "you know the addy" which imo reinforced the points Banks was making about her approprating poverty), but I found myself left thinking "after your notorious lack of interest in political shit, you decide to break your near-silence on these things to go after two mentally ill POC, who are already basically pariahs in the entertainment industry." I mean, I get that she was actually friends with Kanye and Azealia so she's more emotionally invested in their thoughts, but I still didn't think it looked very good.

What's even better is that, while Lana has two best tracks, Kim Gordon gets put into the "meh" list lmao Edit: I actually like Fantano a lot, even if I disagree with him pretty frequently, so I've been excited to hear what he has to say about the tracks and album. His reaction is about what I expected. Lana is making all the right moves in progressing her song-writing skills and making her music less reliant on the gimmicky old 'Lana Del Rey' persona (which is what his main problem had always been with her stuff). Said he's actually excited for this album, which is promising.
