Grimes - Book 1 (2022) Enjoy the Angels on Earth Utopia I Wanna Be Software Music 4 Machines Player of Games Riot Song Shinigami Eyes 100% Tragedy The Infinite Assassin Darq Souls Sci-Fi (feat. The Weeknd) Digital Calypso Afterlife

I think Riot Song, Enjoy the Angels on Earth and Player of Games are my favourites I was so hyped about 100% Tragedy when it was teased and now in full I still like it but it sounds very mid aside from Afterlife, 100% Tragedy, Digital Calypso and maybe Utopia I don't think these sound thaaaaaaaat unfinished? Just a little tweaks here and there and ready to go. If only she decided to finish and release these tracks

haven't listened to the full songs yet but i skimmed through it and while i understand why many fans are not fond of them, i do like them! upon release i really enjoyed Player of Games and Shinigami Eyes so i'm glad to finally have them in a full project. hopefully better qualities surface sometime

I'll say that, despite it was marketed as an EP, yes, it is an album indeed. Length and tracks amount surpass those of an EP although it was marketed as such, probably due to the release proximity after Born to Die. Paradise ultimately has a sound of its own and I've never seen it as an extension of Born to Die cause they're pretty different anyway. Little reminder that 9-track albums do exist: FKA twigs - MAGDALENE Björk - Vulnicura Michael Jackson - Thriller Madonna - Like a Virgin and True Blue Duran Duran - Self Titled Lykke Li - I Never Learn and like a couple thousands more lol, they were very common in the 80s and 90s 8-track albums too: AURORA - Infections of a Different Kind Lykke Li - EYEYE Madonna - Self Titled and many many more. So while it doesn't matter, it's pretty much an album. And an excellent one I just wish I Don't Wanna Go and Young & Beautiful were officially added so this little *controversy* were nowhere to be found dddd

No babes I love both of them I hope we eventually get more outtakes from both albums, she has great hidden gems

Kylie Minogue - Tension II (2024) (not me doing this one again ) Standard: Deluxe: Lights Camera Action Extended Taboo Extended My Oh My (feat. Bebe Rexha & Tove Lo) Hello Extended Someone for Me Extended Kiss Bang Bang Extended Water Diamonds Extended Night Owl Good as Gone Stars in Our Eyes Puppet on a String (feat. Kamille) Deluxe edition bonus track Heartbreak City Deluxe edition bonus track Dance to the Music Deluxe edition bonus track I tried to reduce it as to make it super concise / filler free and it kinda works. Plus, the outtakes work much better than all the collabs so.

Nooo I always have it wherever Fine China, SYTH and Your Girl are... they're my Untouchable 4 I guess

An album of course. Actually, I think the released version is pretty much an album already despite of its marketing as an EP, as it's 9 tracks, 38 minutes. That's beyond the limit for an EP - somewhere I read that, in length, 25 minutes is the max for an EP so yeah. Some streaming platforms like Apple Music take 6 tracks as an EP and 7 as an album already, so idk. I always considered Paradise an album anyway. Also there's plenty of 9-track studio albums (FKA twigs' MAGDALENE, Björk's Vulnicura, etc.) and also 8-track albums (AURORA's Infections of a Different Kind) so it's pretty much subjective I guess! I typically go: 3-6 tracks = EP 7-8 tracks = mini-album (here's where the grey area is more diffuse and it becomes the most subjective, judging by the artist's vision of the project and stuff) >8 tracks = studio album lol sorry for the off topic deviation

Yup, aka the early version of Lake Placid. The production of I Don't Wanna Go / Black Leather Moonlight screams Paradise, while Lake Placid is more in line with Old Money, Black Beauty, Earthquakes, Living Legend etc.

I can't care less about Portals nowadays ngl. That unnecessary elongation of the era is so tired I'm glad she's back on the studio though, hopefully we get to never hear about Cry baby anymore. She should write off-character, it is such an unexplored field for her

Lana songs with poor mastering/engineering?
Glitter Boy replied to White Hot 4Ever's topic in Lana Thoughts
I think, just think but not entirely sure (almost though), that these three were just YouTube rips she put in the album for some reason. The Spek for each shows lossy af files even from FLAC or WAV CD/Qobuz/Tidal rips. Now, it's true we got lossless leaks for Cherry Blossom and Nectar of the Gods + 320 kbps for Living Legend, so that's why the leaks sound better. But I could swear the released versions are just some YouTube/SoundCloud rips. Essentially, rips from the leaks so that would be the same mix than the leaks, just in worse quality -

I'm glad we all can agree Born to Die and Honeymoon are her best engineered and mixed albums. My top 3 remain Lust for Life, Chemtrails and Norman but some songs in them really slip away in terms of mixing -

Ooooh thanks for clarifying! I always thought it was one of those songs like Fingertips iirc (correct me if I'm wrong but I swear I read that somewhere), where she used a voice memo I think. Now, if Kintsugi is actually a studio recording... what in the HELL is that vocal production
