  3. maybe she's gotten over wanting to be dominated. all of her other boyfriends were older and "kind of" bad boy types, maybe she's learned from those relationships not working out

run the jewels is one of my favourite albums this year, it's great
  5. I really love On Our Way, I think it's a great example of one of the main reasons why I love Lana. She's not really a genius poet, singer or guitar player (heh) but her lyrics are extremely personal. And not only because of how much she opens up in them but how much personality they show. I don't think a lot of songwriters could get away with writing about Chevrolets all the time or picking up cheap lip gloss form K-Mart but I like it with Lana because I know that's her whole style and every time she mentions little things like that I feel like I'm getting to know her more and more. This probably one of the reasons why I don't like people covering her songs, it just sounds weird hearing some random girl on the internet say things only Lana would say. I think there are a lot of musicians who are either great poets or who have mastered their instrument but I'll never be nearly as invested in them because they don't show any personality in their songs even if they objectively are talented.
  6. - seeing her live - touching her butt when she was standing in front of me - so legit drama - the youtube comments - leaks
  7. It's not cuts, she wrote "Life is Beautiful" on her wrist.
  8. this as well: http://audioboo.fm/boos/838087-on-a-plane-nirvana
  9. lol can a single person on here dislike an artist's music without constantly attacking them? not just lorde, i see it on here all the time and it's so immature jesus christ
  10. All awards shows are just appreciation for the money these artists have made for the industry, you can see that when you look at the nominations, it's not about talent or the quality of the music. I mean, Psy and Carly Rae Jepsen were nominated last year. I really won't think any more highly of Lana if she wins a Grammy because it means nothing.
  11. For the French people: Is the woman speaking in Carmen a native speaker?
  12. He wrote the song originally but he didn't want to use it so he gave it to Courtney and she rewrote all the lyrics and changed some stuff.
  13. Hole, actually. Ultraviolence is just a term Anthony Burgess used to describe the murders/beatings/rapes they committed, an extreme violence. I didn't interpret that single word to be have any more meaning, he made lots of words up for that book, that's just one of the most easily understood ones and one that people now actually use in real life. Btw, he said this about A Clockwork Orange: "We all suffer from the popular desire to make the known notorious. The book I am best known for, or only known for, is a novel I am prepared to repudiate: written a quarter of a century ago, a jeu d'esprit knocked off for money in three weeks, it became known as the raw material for a film which seemed to glorify sex and violence. The film made it easy for readers of the book to misunderstand what it was about, and the misunderstanding will pursue me until I die. I should not have written the book because of this danger of misinterpretation, and the same may be said of Lawrence and Lady Chatterley's Lover." I still don't know how exactly he would like it to be interpreted but that's pretty interesting.
  14. doesn't sound like her but i don't think anyone else is credited for vocals which is weird
  15. are posting facebook profiles publicly now? and the song is called living legend so i don't think it's about her "dead friends" but about someone in her life who's helped her like, for example, jane. who knows though
  16. atlantic group, aa meetings in nyc
  17. ...sorry, i didn't want to out her or anything but i'm pretty sure we've discussed this on here which is why i mentioned it
  18. I remember us talking about Jane somewhere on the forum a while ago. I think they went to AA meetings together? Like, the Atlantic Group ones. And Jane seemed pretty conservative and... mothering? I used to have screen caps of all of Lana's Facebook statuses but I don't anymore :/ I think I sent them to someone a while ago so could you possibly send them back to me?
  19. it has already qualified, it's nominated for a nomination, you really don't have to worry about it being eligible
