  9. ooo this is a great thread !! here's mine: i agree that Kingdom Hearts 3 is messy as fuck but GOD i cant help but love it. the story is a mess sure, the narrative pacing is awful, it's too easy and honestly every time i think of the Frozen world i physically cringe a little, BUTTTTTT i still love the game!! speaking of Kingdom Hearts, i didn't enjoy playing Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance and in fact i didn't even finish it but i should probs revisit it sometime and see if i change my mind i hate the way Lara Croft looks in the new Call of Duty stuff - it looks nothing like her!! her iconic appearance is totally gone. but this game isn't the first offender; i feel like ever since the 2013 reboot they totally changed her appearance and got rid of her most distinctive features. (and no i'm not talking about her boobs!! lol) im not sure if this is exactly an unpopular opinion, but Alice: Madness Returns is one of my fave video games. it's SOOOOO underrated and i never see anybody talking about it! nor have i ever met anyone else who has played it! it's such a twisted, captivating game with such a dope aesthetic, i really wish more people had played it! i don't believe for a second that it's a bad game and i'm sure when i eventually go back to it i'll love it, but i struggled to get into The Witcher 3 and ultimately abandoned it Sleeping Dogs is really underrated and the soundtrack goes harder than any GTA game people talk about Telltale games (like Telltale's The Walking Dead, Telltale's Batman, etc) being bad bc they only give you the *illusion* of choice because everything ultimately ends the same way, but like.... i don't care? i'm there for the story! i know my choices don't REALLY matter, but even though they don't affect the plot they DO affect the narrative which is good enough for me bc the writing of those games is soooo excellent that i became really invested in those characters and really did care how their story played out! Arkham City is an excellent game, but it's actually my least fave of the Arkham games for some reason that i can't quite put my finger on. Arkham Asylum is my fave, followed by Arkham Knight and then Arkham City. (never played Origins!)

  12. if you guys could pick 3 released songs to represent what you’d like the next album to sound like, what would you pick? i’m gonna say West Coast, Taco Truck x VB and Grandfather edit: yes i’m a libra moon and libra rising was it my absolute avoidance of the conflict surrounding me and pretending everything’s normal that gave it away
  13. it would be pretty cool if we could compile a lanaboards playlist! i've seen this on reddit, where different subreddits have their own playlists. im not sure exactly how it would work here tho - i know that on reddit they usually go by the song w/ the most upvotes each day and add that to the playlist, but i'm not sure what to LB equivalent would be. i would imagine tho there'd be some lorde, some arctic monkeys, some fka twigs, a peppering of taylor swift and maybe the odd hiphop song too

  20. absolutely! i'll take anything that's filled with classic lana-isms and her genuine, authentic style of songwriting. i could use the song Kintsugi as an example - it's so heartbreaking that i find it hard to listen to on a regular basis, but when i do i'm floored by how beautiful and eloquent it is, so i'm glad that song exists and that we got to hear it. can i pop my pussy to it? no! but i still love it! on the other end of the spectrum, Summer Bummer is probably one of lana's most mainstream sounding or radio friendly songs, yet it's one of my faves because while it's fun and light hearted it still retains the lana vibe with the creeping, ominous piano at the start, the imagery ("white lines and black beaches and blood red sangria" is just so, so, SO lana del rey hahaha) and it doesn't feel like lana selling out, just lana dipping her toes more fully into the trap/hip-hop sound that's been present since her debut. Doin Time got a bunch of radio play, and even though it's a cover it still feels true to lana's vibe - it would fit right in on an album filled with You Can Be The Boss / Us Against The World / Hundred Dollar Bill type tracks. and yet, Video Games was lana's breakout hit, which is undeniably a ballad! so i think it goes to show that authenticity prevails, so there's no need to even focus on making hits or chasing radio play. if it happens, it happens! if not, then not! like many here i couldn't care less about chart or radio numbers for lana - i have faith that whatever comes next will be interesting and enjoyable, so long as lana trusts in her artistic instincts and surrenders to the whim of her muse (christ i can really waffle on cant i )
