    Song vs. Song

hahaha difficult choice Terrence Loves You vs Heroin
  6. tbh the main reason i thought it was “lennon” (although to me it sounds more like “linen”) is cause john lennon produced the song don’t forget me!
  7. i actually really love Beautiful i also feel like if she had changed the lyric everyone despised to “what if someone had asked Pablo not to be sad?”, it wouldn’t take long for people to suss out she was talking about Pablo Picasso and not only would it flow better but i think everyone would be like “omg her mind” hahah
  8. im still a little confused by the whole "leaning on my back" line so I have some theories is she saying "Lennon in the back, whispering in my ear, saying 'Come on baby, you can drive' but I can't" ? as in John Lennon and a reference to the Beatles song (the chorus is "baby you can drive my car") and she's saying that ironically even tho she's listening to that song she doesn't acc have the strength to drive?? orrrr is she saying "Lennon on my back, whispering in my ear, saying 'Come on baby, you can drive' but I can't"? as in she has this imaginary friendship with Harry Nilsson and John Lennon (who worked together) and while Harry is giving her fire (or five or whatever the lyric says) Lennon is there encouraging her holding her shoulders or hugging her back or something singing "baby you can drive my car" or just telling her she can drive?? OR is she saying "linen on my bed/linen on my back, whispering in my ear, saying 'Come on baby, you can drive but I cant", implying that she's laid on linen sheets and her lover is telling her that she can drive somewhere if she wants to but he can't? ORRRR is it "linen on my bed/linen on my back, whispering in my ear, saying 'Come on baby, you can drive' but I can't", suggesting her lover is telling her/encouraging that she can drive but she retorts that she can't? OR is it indeed "leaning on my back, whispering in my ear saying 'Come on baby, you can drive' but I can't"? much to think about ETA: and of course the possibility that its actually "thrive" and not "drive" lol
  9. me at the drive thru even though this is a wendy’s because i’m excited about lana’s new music
  10. i am really, really, really enamoured with the title track and my god i’m relieved to be saying that. honestly no shade to the last two eras at all (well maybe some slight shade to COCC since that’s my least fav album lol) because i really really liked blue banisters but i did have this secret worry that i was gonna listen to the title track, like it just fine enough but then never really have a desire to go back to it because it just blended into all the lana music that came out in the past 2ish years and it just didn’t hit the spot but that’s not the case, there is some real undeniable magic to the track and i find myself thinking about it a lot although it’s in the same vein as something from BB, it’s such a well crafted song that it doesn’t feel homogenised or samey to me. the instrumentation, the INCREDIBLE back up singers (i wish i could personally write to each one of those ladies and thank them for the way they absolutely elevated this track, because WOW, wow wow wow, wowowowow, WOW), the lyrics that seem to reveal more and more of their meaning with each listen, the ups and downs in lana’s voice, the addictive catchiness of “when’s it gonna be my turn? don’t forget me!”, how it starts off with a relaxed exhale but ends up as this gorgeous singalong…. i really love it, it sparks something inside me similar to what The Greatest does. i have such high hopes for this record now, i really really do
  11. i actually think the title track is ridiculously catchy and i constantly find myself singing the pre-chorus and chorus, so i hope the other tracks of the record follow this route of combining wordy and poetic lyricism with genuinely catchy melodies as opposed to just one or the other!
  12. ok when are we getting the tracklist we've waited long enough its been like three whole days
  13. its giving me so much hope that lana seems to be pretty enthusiastic about this new record the way there's been proper planning and seems to be a proper rollout on the way..... exciting!!
  14. random and personal but i've been ill with a horrendous flu for the past few days and listening to Tunnel on repeat, but like.... im scared that whenever i listen to it in the future its just gonna trigger me and remind me of this awful time of illness and pain march 10th can't come quick enough so I can recontextualize this banger of a song baby !!!
  15. that sultry lana rose from the ashes to give us a chaotic, naughty, bad bitch masterpiece
