Okay, so what’s stopping Lana from going on live and giving a little PSA that the album isn’t coming in July? There’s literally no way. Even if they submit the album today, we’re looking at mid-August at the absolute earliest. There’s no way this is going to be a digital album if they’re putting all this money paying Mike. All she has to do is go on live and say “hey guys super excited about how the album is going, working with a new producer and unfortunately the album won’t be out in July” or even a post instead she has both album announcements up and now we have confirmation the album is still getting worked on, a little over 7 weeks from the release date

Super super super excited about a ‘return to form’ (have to agree with @lanasbottom, it’s interesting to go through 5 pages of hype over a return to old styles after being lectured on it since NFR ) I’m sure the ‘return to form’ will also incorporate the style of singing she’s been doing lately, and the deeper poetry-like lyrics! Very confused how the era is supposed to officially start next week if the album isn’t even done yet I’m not mad it’s going to be delayed (I already knew it would be) because it means that Lana and Mike are working on something amazing together. I’m still gonna hope for the album this year, but they both seem to be huge perfectionists so I want them to take their time to make the sound exactly how they what. I’m so glad we’re getting incredibly full instrumentals (strings and synths) after Lana said she wanted to make COTCC more wild! lastly, hoping there’s still some Zach, I was really looking forward to their work together

I think she might make the announcement Thursday (the 20th because that’s exactly two weeks) and then a song out Friday the 21st (LMLYLAW style) or the announcement on the 20th will be a save-the-date song announcement. She isn’t likely to post anything until the 16th-18th if we follow the 20 day rule

the only thing that saves me from getting jealous of Marina stans is her first single came out not long after LMLYLAW and her album still isn’t out. And to be fair, Lana might not give us an update like “two singles coming this month” BUT she did give us two release dates for her new album but yes, some clarification (even something as open ended as ‘new single this month’) would be a breath of fresh air

I think it was done in July, after all of her work was done with Jack. It’s from a brand new session..she later went to him to record Summertime, and she was in the studio with him in November (when she announced she was working on two albums) so it’s not unlikely that we working without announcing it

Honestly I would love if the new album is incorporated with the album. BTIG is going to be more connected to BB than COTCC. She technically announced both during QFTC, she said hinges of what she’s been pondering will be mostly in the second poetry book and the new album, but she didn’t get to record most of what she was actually thinking because the album process was cut short edit: minus dealer. But she recorded it after COTCC’s recording process so that’s probably why it wasn’t included, it didn’t fit the narrative

it doesn’t help that during the COTCC pre-release Lana talked about how she wanted to expand the sound of the album and Jack talked about how they wanted to ‘strip the songs down’. There had to have been a miscommunication somewhere. While I agree Lana has a control over the sound, the songwriting process with Jack seems to be extremely different than other producers. with Rick, Lana would sing a melody and he’d try and find what chord she was singing and work around it. With Jack, he plays a chord and Lana tries to make a melody around it. So she’s trying to work with Jack instead of Jack working with her, and the results show. The work they’ve done is nice and COTCC is one of my top Lana albums, but it does sound samey, and the most drastically ‘different’ songs (Yosemite and BUS) were heavily worked on with someone else
