  1. So did anyone else notice that in the pre-chorus she used the melody from the scraped verse from the Lust for life Demo ? :oprah3:

The song is beautiful and fit so much in Chemtrails, lyric wise (I love how "We did it for free" mirror the For Free Cover), production wise, but also in term of vocal delivery. :xcry::wowcry::krylie:

She was right when she said she wasn't there yet.  She is there now ! :lanahairflip3:

  2. There's also a National Anthem "video" that appeared associated with Girl Power  (humm Ok :smile3:).

    It's been discussed here :

I don't think Lana's team posted them. It just seems to be some new weird automatic functionality from youtube just like "... - Topic". It makes it look like a new video have been posted on her channel when it's not the case.

DO you think she will release WD this evening? Just like she did with DT one day before NFR dropped.

I really want to see that video and I feel like it will be better than CoCC (which was nice with the big budget but just so random with the lacking of any kind of focus and the weirdl supercuts)

I have to disagree with you about the COCC video, it's really beautiful and it does make sense. It's just so strange and wild. I love it

But the better than COCC quote deserved a like :brows::thumb3:

It's crazy to me how Yosemite is 5 years old yet fits seamlessly into this record? Is that good or bad in terms of her artistic growth and development...

Well she said she was not there yet when she released LFL. That's why she kept it and said she would release it when the time would come.

It seems that this song was an anticipation of the growth she has attained today. The song was waiting for her mother album to come to fruition. Really can't wait to hear it to confirm that intuition.

The White Dress snippet from her instagram is giving me goosbumps. I've always been infatuated by Lana's voice but I swear she never put so much emotion on her delivery before :sadcore2::hair::xcry::trisha:

(Plus the video seems so poetic)

The reviews on the album are terrific this time again. It builds the momentum. I just can't wait to hear it. :bye:

It is my first time resisting hearing it before release. I'm so proud of myself.. but god this is hard. :angie:

    1. Yes, the Wiki is going to be the most reliable source for anything Lana

    2. If I understand correctly, the titles are the same on each project. There are some alternate titles, but you can see which ones have them on the Wiki.

    3. Check the masterpost thread, my masterpost has them!

Thanks a lot. Sorry but I don't know how to find masterposts. Are they specific topics ?

  7. Thanks you guys, I was completely lost.

Everything I have is so different from what is listed in LanaPedia (see : Young_like_Me_(EP), Sirens_(album), From_the_End_(EP)) even the number of songs

It raises up 3 questions :

    • Are the info on the wiki reliable in term of song order ?
    • Are the song that are similar listed with the same name on each tracklist ?
    • If so, were can I download proper version of each project ?

    Thanks in advance !

rare aesthetic but this was the cover art I had on the pirated version of BtD I had on my iPod classic :,) (don’t worry I have like 3 versions of it on vinyl now diudeidj) artworks-000488639241-1krmge-t500x500.jp

also this iconic edit that I thought was gonna be in UV

This version of Black Beauty was fake but I would die to hear a full version with proper pitch. It is so reminiscent of Video Games especially with the harp. I always imagine hear the song like that.

EDIT : Just found a full version, but nevermind, it's very badly edited.

    Can't wait

We did it for fun, we did it for free
I did it for you, you did it for me
We did it for the right reasons

    Yosemitee

With all of those statements, she literally deserves us a free online concert. :agree:

    Please Lana play for freeeeeee.

By the way, I didn't know this song but it sounds great and fits Lana perfectly.

This song is such a guilty pleasure :thirst:

Just imagine Lana singing this song in an alternate universe :lush:

Lana could have made a video like this for her #Stargirl song :brows:

I was a fan as a teenager. :smile3: I though I was the only one here to know this song

I used to think that if VB could actually sing she'd sound like Caroline Polacheck (see Charlift's  Ghost tonight and Cool as Fire). :agree:

This whole comment is literally so well stated. I feel like I even understand her recent work further from you perspective. I think that’s such a healthy way of looking at the evolution of an artist.

Thank you ! Well to be honest, it's a very new perspective for me. But I read the lyrics of Don't Judge Me and an analysis of the video and all of a sudden it just made sense.

It's like letting go of a burden (the systematic critic) by approching art differently  If that makes sense :agree:

I think Lana would benefit from that perspective if it was generalized.  :smile3:

I know what you mean but I think She’s just evolving. The meaning behind the song is so relevant and video is so beautifully created to express how black people have to try x10 harder than white people to even get a seat at the table. If she wasn’t interested in making music she would not have made a whole album over quarantine that’s gonna have lots of cute collaborations :p

I agree. What the song is about is very important. Even if the song and video are very straighforward and simple, they are quite touching and of good quality. It is not the earthquake that was Cellophane, but I don't think that she doesn't care about her art anymore.  :horror:

Didn't she do it for us ? Even if the song was dedicated to her lover at the time, I realize Cellophane could apply to the expectation that the song itself has created for FKA Twigs' career (full circle). Her oeuvre has been so increasingly poignant, impressive and avant garde that a good song is not enough anymore for the public (me included).

I think that it's healthy that she let her hair down for this album. Can you believe that she learned to master multiple new activities for this Magadalene, each especially for one music video (lapdance for cellophane and wushu for Sad day) ? She put her health in danger for the Spike Jones Apple commercial to prouve she could be perfect. As a person of color she's been feeling all her life that she had to be perfect in order to be accepted.  :um: I remember her comment about high expectations, the fact that she felt she always had to be a Nubian Queen to be considered. In a way, this is perfectly linked with the theme of Don't judge me. :agree:

    Quote

I've got a precious heart open for you
Say why you're breakin' for me every day
I'll send the precious kinda love your way
    Don't judge me

Personally I'm deciding now to accept what the artist has to give for what is is without comparison. I realize that otherwise, it's just toxic energy. Same will go for Lana. If the artist delivers a masterpiece every time, it's great. If She/he doesn't but the work is still good, then let's enjoy it. Don't you think ?  It's alway possible to go back to the masterpieces from time to time for comfort. Let's give them love either way, instead of hate and judgement of new work if it doesn't go our way

Lana needs to cover this song. It's super melancholic and a perfect fit for Lana's aesthetic.

      Hide contents

Also these 3 songs. I'm hoping Lana lurks on this page and takes my suggestions seriously loool XD

    She'll tell you she's true

She'll tell you she loves you
She's waiting in that warm room

The thought of you sends me shivery
I'm dressed in lace, sailing down a black reverie.

I spent a lot of my time looking at blue,

The colour of my room and my mood.

I swear Symphony in Blue with those lyrics is the most Lana Del Rey-Ish song released Pre-Lana Del Rey.

It gives me The Blakest Day vibes  :

    Quote

Carry me home, got my blue nail polish on
It's my favorite color and my favorite tone of song

The cycle is complete because on first listen, that Lana song made me think of Kate Bush in term of sound, especially the Going Deeper and Deeper part.

Rather die young by Beyonce is next, in terms of typical Lana lyrics.

    Quote
Boy, you'll be the death of me
    You're my James Dean
You make me feel like I'm 17
    You drive too fast
    You smoke too much
But that don't mean a thing 'cause I'm addicted to the rush
'Cause I'd rather die young than live my life without you

Can you make it more LDRish ? These lyrics sound straigh out of BTD (Blue Jeans, Off to the races,...). I was wondering if it was just a copy / hommage to Lana but I'm not sure Blue Jeans was already out when the song was recorded, they were released pretty close to each other.

Can someone just edit out that rapping/talking part and just leave instrumental during it? IDK he's just out of place, yet has the longest part in the song.

Wouldn't it be easier to just listen to the interlude ?  :eek3::ohmy:

It's funny how FKA Twigs' version has more lines from the rapper than the rapper's version while not having that much more Twigs in it. I'm fine with the rapping tough. :headache: It gives a more concrete aspect to the meaning of the song.

Like most of you, I like the song but only as a standalone track. After de sacred masterpiece that was Magdalene, we can't expect an OK song (especially since it's not really new). I like it better on first listens than I did  Holy Terrain tough.

She's saying on her ig it's a new song so it's probably an extended version

    I was wondering the same.

I can't see it being a completely different project as it's with the same guys and even if the title wasn't the same, the main lyrics where "Don't juge me".

Wasn't these guy's album some sort of mixtape ? Maybe the first version was some king of demo for the final song which will be on Twigs' album.

Or maybe it's some kind of part 2 that continue the story.

We'll see in a few hours.

  16. The official video on youtube has the lyrics as subtitles and it says :

    It's beautiful, (I'll escape)

Aren't those lyrics entered by her team ? Tough I don't understand the use of parentheses. Maybe the person who entered them wasn't sure.

It personnally think that it does make more sense with what the song's about than LSD.

I didn't bother comparing the other lyrics with what we have here.
