  1. So random, I love it. Just like Pawn Shop Blues. She just likes to release randomly old videos on others accounts.

It's the best homemade video since Video Games. :wowcry:

Bets are opened. Which on is coming next ?

    - Pretty when you cry (homemade video)

    - California (Homemade video)

    - Full Blue Banisters video or original Let me love you like a woman video (alleged by me)

    - Ultraviolence (original video used for freak)

    - Best american record (original video used for White mustang)

    .....

    :ahh:

Or I will take the full Arcadia video anytime if she prefers :shh2:

  2. A little upgrade on this one

I saw someone on the comment section of a youtube video call us Lanisters.:gasp:

Oh gosh, I definitely prefer Lipster:smile3:

A little update ont this one :

    Blue Lanisters :oprah:

now that I think about it, there no better way to identify us than with the color blue. That's the most recurrent element in Lana lyrics.

  3. I'm loving the album so far. I need more listens.

I don't know about you guys but the 2 last tracks gave me Rock Candy Sweet teas :oprah2: :

    • The ultra soft whispered beginning ending in a rock explosion in Happier than Ever
    • The "loved you then, and I love you now" lyrics in Male Fantasy

:wowcry: Where is our baby Rock Candy Sweet with the screamer dealer ? :xcry:

Well I love the Blue Banisters tracks so I need to chill and stop the drama :smile3:

Going to have more listen to Happier than Ever and enjoy the F**k out of it. :grinds:

  4. The track is cute. Not just what I would call a proper duet.

Unlike DGD (which Lana helped write), it looks like this song was already written betweeen Jack and someone else, so he probably showed her once it was done and she was singing along to it and they decided to add her in as background! (I do wish she sang a verse tho, don’t get me wrong )

I agree. I think that with most of the features, her artist friend play her a song of theirs, she sings along while listening, and they decide to record her right away because it sounds nicer with her. If there is more planned implication, there are chances that Lana ghosts them before it happens (Eat for free says hi :oop2:)

I just wish they wouldn't"t have the feature in the name of the song as a clic bait.

If she write the song with the partner, it definitely ends up as a proper duet (like she does with most of the duets for her albums). For exemple, in the case of Breaking Up Slowly, it wasn't intended for her album in the first place. She actually claimed the song because she loved it.

  5. I think the cover is very fitting and I'm happy she fed us with a snippet and cover and didn't give us another random date or stay silent like she used to do. That's a big improvement.

New single coming so I'm pretty sure we'll never get a full Blue Banisters video, it might not exist at all. :oopna2:

It kind of gives credit to my theory that it was unused footages from a canceled Let Me Love You Like A Woman video that was turned into the Jimmy Fallon performance:agree:

Anybody feels like editing a full music video for LLYLAW with that in mind ?

  6. I don't understand all the Jack hate here.

People saying he can only produce snoozefest haven't heard this :

    :hair:

Plus the background singers (see also: Melting of the sun) give me Thunder and Summertime vibes. Hope he'll do something similar with Lana cause it works well for her as well.

I agree that COCC and NFR have similar sound but it has to be intentional (COCC sampling NFR is an obvious hint). Jack is otherwise very versatile. Can you really the following sound the same ? :

    - Lana's sisters albums COCC and NFR

    - Lorde's Melodrama

    - St Vicent's Masseduction

    - St Vicent's Daddy's Home (from what we've heard so far)

    :hairflip:

Remember Lana produced an album like Honeymoon before and Video Games whitch is her breakthrough was a piano ballad. COCC wasn't surprising at all in that regard.

That being said, withJack being the producer or not, I would fancy some ultraviolencish revange album with fire.:raven:

If we get a slow album and it's as good as COCC I will still love her tough. :prettyhurts:

I can't stop listening to the snippet, I can't wait to hear the full song, and the video is so sweet..breaks my heart :xcry:

It also reminds me in someway of Let Me Love You Like A Woman...maybe for the way she talks to her lover, the story behind the song..i don't know, i really get LMLYLAW vibes and chills when I hear it. But i'm not saying that melodically it sounds the same, i have the feeling that the part in the snippet is just the pre-chorus part, and i'm pretty sure it will have more intensity and stronger energy in the chorus and maybe in the bridge too!

Well actually she looks just like she does in the the Let Me Love You Like A Woman performance on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon".

Someone mentioned how she's not lipsyncing in the Blue Bannister video and that it might be reused footage. What if there was an original LMLYLAW that for some reason she ditched in profit of the homemade one. She might then have reused the footage from the abandoned video (like she kept those were she sings for Jimmy fallon, and the other ones for Blue Bannister). We all know that the performance is not a performance. She's lipsyncing and that's something that she doesn't usually do.

That would definitely make sense. Even though I love those footage more than what we got in the official LMLYLAW video, I think the vibe is too dark for the song. Seing the result of the original video, she might have decided that she needed something lighter that included her sisters rather than a tragic love story. LMLYLAW does implies a possible separation, but that's definitely not the point of the song, it's more about the freedom of moving on to a new place, and enjoying a relationship while it lasts.

EDIT : There's one flaw in my theory. She's blonde in the official LMLYLAW so it might be anterior to those footages. But we never know, maybe she shot this before quarantine when her hair was dark. Or maybe those homemade footages where made for fun before the official video but she still choose to keep it because she wasn't satisfied by the professional ones she made afterwards.

I was really hoping Therefore I Am wasn't on the album i don't like that track at all...Everything I Wanted should've made is on there. (also my future not being capitalized like the rest of the tracks is bothering me)

My thoughts exactly. How could she not include Everything I Wanted and have Therefore I Am instead.

I love the cover except for the font.

I wish soooo bad that she included everything at once that she scrapped from the album of the last shadow puppets. But im

my opinion, I think she will only put 1 or few songs. She said that she didn’t relased cause it didn’t make sense and the whole body of work wasn’t that good for her

    YES JUST A FUCKING HINT

Maybe by saying it was not a solid body of work she ment not solid enough as a whole to be released as an album (dont know her exact words). They did songs together that didn't have a precise directions (I believe they did some covers, some songs new songs that were intepreted by Lana, at least one other was interpreted by miles, ...) so that couldn't make a cohesive album.

She released California and it seems to be a fan favorite, same for Thunder that leaked and Miles choose Loaded as a single so it must not be that terrible. Let's suppose she uses 3-4 more songs from that session for RCS, add a few more she's done with Zach Dawes since (including Dealer) and some she's done with Jack, and maybe even some leftover from sessions with Rick Knowles (:sideeye:) that didn't fit previous albums.

she is saying one thing then another all the time, which makes it so hard to follow.
    - Annie Mac interview : “I’m tired, I don’t work much after a backlash”/ reveals next album out on June 1 and has songs in the bank with Nikki.
    - Jack: “You are on a path to stripping songs to their most essential”/ Lana: “I asked Jack to go wilder at the end of songs”

    - “Pandemic cut short my work with Jack”/ “Jack is on board for songs”

    i mean... :delish:

Well actually Lana is working on so many projects at the same time it is confusing (even for her). She announce project before it is fully completed, and sometimes she changes her mind. Let's just say she is enthusiast. Even release dates aren't any confirmation until her label announce it, to be honest.

All those releases have been talked about at the same time :

    • White Hot Forever / Chemtrails*
    • Violets
    • Behind the iron gates*
    • Multiple cover albums (I don't know if the Americana*, country and folk albums are different projects honestly but there's at least two of them)
    • The Nikki Collab album
    • Rock Candy Sweet

Plus there's the Last Shadow Puppets album that might be either part of Rock Candy Sweet (after all, even if she said she worked with Jack for that album, she didn't say only him), or be distilled on multiple projects (we already have California and Miles' Loaded), or the rest might never see the day of light.

And sometimes a song goes from one project to the other.

    * Those 3 didn't get released on initial release date (don't rememeber about Violet, and we still have to see the unlikely June 1 date being accurate).

  11. Fanbase name is stupid but let's admit that this is fun !

    The Reycists.

Reycists ? After the question for the culture controversy, we need to avoid this one :smile3::thumb3:

I think Lipster is hilarous, and I believe I've seen it in articles about Lana.

I always believed we are the Kids from Love Lyrics.

Oh, and what about COOC Teasers :smile4:

  12. Everyone suppose this is an original song album but wouldn't it make more sense that she might release the cover album just after COCC since it was promised just before.

Maybe it's only a simple digital release. That would also explain the selfie as album cover and weird release date.

After all, if she covered mostly soft rock songs or did them in that style, the title would totally make sense.

Ok the "I want revenge" comment doesn't make sense with that theory so I must be wrong but who knows.

Then I'de take an UV 2.0 with angry lyrics and a Californian rock sound produced by Zack Dawes anytime.

the chorus’ instrumental is straight out of HTD (the instrumental break around the end of the song) and the melody in some parts is very close to Hope! :D

Well I never noticed Hope (I have to listen again) but it blends magically into Let me love you like a woman. The intro sounds like an encore to that song with the same chords and it changes drastically when the first verse begins to finally become it's own song. Has anyone else noticed ?
