No, it’s on an official “site”! but I’m not sure if I can say its name. It’s still a song that’s going to be released soon. Let’s ask @Elle  , I don’t want wps or… worse

Same vocal takes, different mixing of the instrumental!

If it's on an official site, I don't see why you would be banned for it. Let's see what Elle says.

Yeah but he could just be a narcissist who writes her off as some girl who was obessed with him,i heard theres kids involved so thats probably why she let him say whatever.

Didn't know about the theory that she didn't know Jimmy.

That line from Gods & Monsters could kinda confirm it :

"Like a groupie incognito, posing as a real singer"

Lizzy being a Jimmy obsessive stan posing as a real singer. Then she becomes famous while no one knows Jimmy.

Groupie Love could also have been about that relationship. Maybe Lana was fantasising that she was with him while she was just a regular groupie.

Having a real singer (Asap) portraying Jimmy being in love with Lana was her ultimate fantasy. Life immitates art.

I'm pretty sure he meant that he co-produced it, not co-wrote. He said "four songs for Lana in 2013 including the song Summer Wine"

Great. Thanks to Lana and Barrie for this we trade that we will benefited from getting 5 songs they did from 2013. Amazing songs from those we know.

Back on topic of the album, I hope it will have lot of songs since she delayed it and will include old recordings :brows:

I'm pretty surprise that everyone's so exited about this album when the least popular Lana songs from the albums seem to be the cover.

I actually can't understand my own excitement even tough I like a few of them :bebe: I hope she surprises us.

Summer Wine is likely on this album, according to this Barrie interview :excited:

He says: "I actually wrote [Riverside] back in 2012 when I was living on the southside of Glasgow. At the time I asked Lana 'How would you like to sing this second verse?' It worked and we later recorded it in LA. But it's track I've always wanted to put on an album so I went back and asked Miss Del Rey's permission to use Riverside."

"She got back to me saying 'of course' but in return she said 'do you remember those four songs we did together, can I use them?' I had co-produced and co-wrote four songs for Lana in 2013 including the song Summer Wine. So I was like 'Sure'. It was cool as it was like a wee trade off but with songs."

The other three songs he's talking about are likely If You Lie Down with Me, Nectar of the Gods, Cherry Blossom which are on Blue Banisters.

I'm not sure how to interpret it because he says he "co-produced and co-wrote four songs" including Summer Wine, but we know he didn't write Summer Wine, since it's a cover.

Maybe I read too much into it and he ment co-produced or co-wrote depending on the song.

manifesting a tiny desk performance with the three background singers :oprah3:

How amazing would that be. She has no tour planned, and livestreams are out of the table now, so we really need some recorded performances.

Anyway the backup singers need to replace the dancers for future tours, we just need them :karaoke:

They can dance if they want to. Just do it, don't wait :understand:

  6. Let Me Love You Like A Woman being the first single of the album while being the least popular original song from it:awk:

I personally like it much more in the context of the album than I did as a single but it's still one of my least favorite. Poor thing :xgiggle:

How popular was it with the general public compared to other songs like Hope that were singles without any proper promotion ?

This is such a dream ! I can so imagine a music video like that with the song :flutter:

:crying: Now, how can we be satisfied with the final music video if we actually get one ? :crying2:

Some of her homemade videos are part of her most iconic ones (Video Games, Hope, Arcadia,...) but I think this song deserves something different.

  8. It's so funny because I was thinking yesterday or something that pitchfork would change their review of Born to Die if they could, and here we are.

    My mind ! :lanahairflip2:

Didn't think it would actually happen because I've never seen anyone change past reviews. I think that it's a good thing that they acknowledged their errors even though what they wrote felt more like justification than anything else.

In Arcadia : and my lips like the phallic the bay :bebe: that doesn't even make any sense :bebe:

( I think that someone else has also misheard the lyric but i am not sure )

I heard phallic labay or something. Didn't know what labay could be :bebe:

And the way she smiles while saying it in the video felt like a confirmation to me :brows: But I was wrong :slayty:

since she states in My Bedroom Is A Sacred Place Now that she plants violets everytime she's left

I could imagine that in this context violets represent her old, possibly toxic relationships and overall the feelings of sadness and abandonment and roses stand for peace, beauty and maybe fragility :oprah3: she decides to trade her bitterness to inner peace and beautiful things

Nice theory. I'de love if it was consistent with VBBOTG.

The song title remind me of Honeymoon's bridge

There are violets in your eyes
There are guns that blaze around you
There are roses in between my thighs
And a fire that surrounds you

And here again violets could mean toxic as everything associated with the guy is pretty toxic

The way I feel I degraded many iconic Lana songs just by changing the titles for something more basic :bebe:

Take My Hand, Right Reasons, Sway, Colour Me Blue, Dying Man, Just the Way I Feel, all fall flat :toofunny:

I so agree. Though I love how this topic highlights the genius of Lana for choosing iconic song titles. :smokes4:

  13. I think the first thing I heard was Kill Kill if you consider that as unreleased. I remember thinking that AKA was more akin to my tastes than Born To Die witch I only liked partially.

If you don't consider AKA as unreleased, it must have been Paradise the song while I was waiting for the Paradise EP (some people "promoted" the leak as if it was gonna be the title track). I was really impatient for Paradise EP because of Ride and the teaser with all of her songs. Since then, I've been waiting for her new releases with more and more impatience. Ultraviolence is the album that got me really really hooked.

    can it come sooner :defeated:

Releasing it as a single before the album would make so much sense. I don't think she would release the album more than a month after Arcadia without a new single.

This would be good buzz for the album for the general public as Doing Time has been. As for the people who've already heard it (with most of the released and leaked songs) it would avoiding giving away too many songs before the album. The new version would still be a nice treat while we wait for the full thing.

  16. I've been loving them for a long time. Their self titled is definitely my favorite with great production (by Rick Rubin who produced Ride with Lana by the way) and they have better interaction than they did before in writing and singing. I think Rick was one of the reasons they rebanded and he encouraged them to have a more cohesive process.

I couldn't get into the last album. I just don't understand the vocal Treatment on Angus. It's underwhelming. Did his voice change as well ? I might give it more listen though
