  1. I don’t think her and Jack were ever an exclusive item tbh. I’m pretty sure she re-followed Clay when they were “together.” I hope he was a muse for the alboom though. We know Blue Banisters was centred on Sean/Clay and that album was, well… certainly an album!
  2. “I can’t help but feel somehow like my body marred my soul” What a poignant lyric. Chef’s kiss. K i need to like go do something with my life but it’s been fun chatting y’all. ✨
  3. The way we got all this insider tea yet I feel like we still have no idea how the album will actually sound lmao.
  4. Just like Dan Auerbach, I think Jack pushed Lana to refine her work in the best ways possible. I still like Rick, but I think his work with Lana started to become derivative (White Mustang for example). I’m also not a fan of Drew Erickson. I think there’s a way for Lana to return to the orchestral/baroque-pop production of her earlier days but she needs to find the right collaborator. Imo it’s the dude who produced the new Weyes Blood album (his name is Jonathan Rado I think).
  5. Donoghue. But Antonoff is a king also. Let’s not act like he didn’t help Lana flesh out some of her best work. He stripped back all the gimmics and let Lana’s true artistry shine. A king imo ✨ love Rick but I don’t miss Lana’s voice layered in heavy reverb and tired trap drums.
  6. Kind of wish her and Jack were still a thing. He really is the epitome of Lana Del Rey vinyl 🥲 if you get it you get it.
  7. “Leaning on my back whispering in my ear “come on baby you can thrive… but I can’t” Tears.
  8. The only thing I hate about Drew Erickson’s production is that it always feels like Lana’s chasing the beat (Beautiful is the best example of this). Whereas Jack takes time with mixing and kind of creates atmosphere around her voice. Tunnel was def an improvement in this regard, hoping the vocal takes are better this time around and less mix tapey.
  9. Hm I could be wrong but didn’t she say this during the UV era when she was getting flack for “romanticizing abuse”? I’m not dogging on her for that btw, just saying she’s never shied away from saying what she truly thinks even if it might read differently to different people!
  10. Also while I’m here giving unsolicited opinions/thoughts for the day, anyone else notice the sound in 13 beaches (1:08) sounds similar to the sound in Tunnel (1:19). You have to have good headphones to catch it, but I was using my Sony headphones (god sent btw) and these instruments sound super similar.
  11. Reflecting back on the horror that was 2020-2021 I’m surprised we were so surprised. Lana has always been a contrarian and never shied away from controversial opinions. I’m no more of a liberal than I am a conservative, feminism isn’t an interesting concept, I love a physical relationship, the list goes on 😭
  12. My dream for this era: * A Rolling Stone US cover and/or an American Vogue cover (long overdue imo) * A proper single release with a high budget music video a month before to drive momentum * Interviews throughout the first week (Zane Lowe etc.) * Guest on an unexpected podcast (even Joe Rogan idgaf) Reality: * She releases a piano ballad with a music video by Charlie or Chuck * She does an IG live the day after release and calls it a day
  13. Ugh so another mid first week sales 😭 Idk her relevancy is at an all time high (record streaming numbers) but I just know people aren’t tuning in to her newer releases. It’s sad.
  14. Another quick question for y’all: do you think the vinyl variants actually sold out or is that more of a marketing tactic to drive sales when they re-stock? I remember Blue Banisters “sold out” as well and then the sales ended up being 33k lmfao.
  15. SHIFTING GEARS: let’s predict first week sales in the US. I do have to give props to Ben and Ed for the vinyl variants after the mess that was the Blue Banisters “roll out.” But then again, she’s done little-to-no promotion and I don’t think her younger generation Tik Tok fans care about her newer music. I’m predicting 50-55k. Maybe 60-75k if the vinyls are actually selling well (can anyone check the data for this btw?).
  16. What’s truly embarrassing within this fandom is y’all’s interpretations of Lana’s songs. Tik Tok stans thinking Tunnel is her not wanting her fans to forget her… pls. What is even more embarrassing is her Genius annotations. Yes I’m in a mood today but this must be said.

    Billie Eilish

Her fall off is quite shocking
  18. Do you guys think she’ll do interviews again? Or even attend Hollywood events post controversies? I can’t imagine how she’d respond in person to questions about qftc/the mesh mask and why she decided to wear it in the first place.
  19. I really don’t care for a new album honestly ? I’m more excited to see her do Bonnaroo and hopefully perform some songs off Chemtrails.
  20. I don’t know if anyone else feels this way but I feel like at some point in 2017-2018 something shifted. It seems like she got sick of celebrity culture and decided to cosplay as a normal valley girl (hence the less eclectic boyfriends, the more reserved and laid back style, and the LA socialite friend group). She kind of acknowledged it in that Interview magazine convo with Jack but it’s just so interesting to me. Every few years it’s like she decides to be a different person. ?
  21. I’ll wait to see if anything happens on the 4th but after that I’m taking a summer hiatus from anything Lana.
  22. I’m honestly relieved. I didn’t love the three singles so I hope she takes more time with this album. There’s no need to rush release it.
  23. I tried to tell y’all… Lana would never just drop an album digitally. She is a vinyls artist and that’s where the majority of her pure sales from Chemtrails came from. It’s not a matter of whether she cares or not (bc I don’t think she cares) but she’s signed to a major label that does. also. BOZ’s reluctance to mention the name of the new producer(s) makes me think it’s either smt country (considering nikki threat lane is in town) or just another nobody (like Gabe Simon).
  24. Neil Krug’s synesthesia was off for the Chemtrails era bc that green spooky color does not suit the vibe of the album whatsoever. Feels more Gods & Monsters/Paradise vibes. He missed for the first time honestly.
  25. Manifesting a July 4th single release + album preorder. Album cover shot by Nadia Lee with the American flag burning in the background. Single produced by Jack Antonoff with additional prod from Zach Dawes. MV release the same week directed by Colin Tilley.
