honestly thank you for sharing this bc as an aspiring musician/mixer/producer i rarely see any tips for vocal mixing only instrumental mixing and this is very helpful as ethel's mixing is always great

when i listen to ethel's music the phrase "art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable" comes to mind. her music never made me feel uncomfortable (idk what that says about me) but ive seen a lot of my "pop girl stan" friends feel uncomfortable with her music at first but grow to love it

unfortunately that's not their fault, theyre an independent label so money isn't really in abundance for them when it comes to promoting artists. however theyre doing an amazing amazing job especially for an independent label!
