  1. Never understood them. Not even AJay. Sorry, but why would I care how many stupid faces some random person can pull while listening to an album for the first time? I'd much rather read a well written review that actually dives deep into the technicality of the music and lyrics.
  2. Interesting interpretation of Donnie Darko But I see what you mean, kinda, about the Paris, Texas comparison. Would love to see a deeper dive if anyone wants to explore that!
  3. I'm gonna not attack that "YouTuber" bc I'm a better person than that, but there's a lot of material there. Believe me.
  4. I actually put "Fishtail" and "Peppers" on my running playlist and I find them pretty good for a lighter jog!
  5. IDK I think "Three White Butterflies" sounds kinda basic for a Lana song. "Deep-Sea Fishing" could've worked but I think the full title is so iconic.
  6. Get Free finishes what Born To Die (song) started. “Feet don’t fail me now, take me to the finish line” —> “Finally, I’m crossing the threshold”

wait omg Elle didn’t post it. Lana has a new smoothie at Mel’s. I agree tho not a fan of bananas.
  8. Actually, there’s neither nothing to be happy or about nor sad. For you see, @Surf Noir was saying that this album couldn't exist it without jon batiste, judah smith, jack antonoff, drew erickson, tommy genesis, father john misty, RIOPY, or SYML which were all a result of lana bringing them all together, which couldn't have happened if lana didn't know them in the first place, so we couldn't have it without every moment that led up to lana meeting all of these people and building up friendships with them, but what if lana didn't meet these people? what if they never existed? we wouldn't have the album without lana's parents, and everybody else's parents or grandparents, or great-grandparents, or great-great-grandparents, or great-great-great-grandparents, if you go back far enough, everybody's parents will lead back to the same woman, the mitochondrial eve, the woman we're likely alldescendants from, we are all technically related to lana and all of her collaborators and friends to some level, we are all extensions of lana and this entirely unique group of collaborators, our distant ancestors who are more likely to be distant ancestors of lana and her friends contributed by simply having children, every moment in human history may have led up to the creation of "did you know that there's a tunnel under ocean boulevard?", but strangely enough, if our very distant ancestor did something slightly different, for example, give birth two days before, or live in a different location, we may have had a differently album entirely, but because our ancestors, and because lana and her friends did exactly what they did, we actually couldn’t have "pearl watch me on ring a bell psycho lifeguard", and that’s not a judgement of happiness or sadness. That just is.

Who wants to clog their arteries with me for $20s worth of Nutella and Bananas?
  10. I genuinely think some jilted Lana fan reported him or something and he had to lie low. Related, but not in the way we think lol
  11. I would never ever go to his (or any) congregation—but, I also won’t skip the track
  12. I feel like we should just laugh bc clearly that person has major issues to say something like that in the first place.
  13. Which is why whenever someone questions her lyrics or is “offended” by her references, we say “it’s not about you” 😌
  14. I hear "Got a shhh [cop] who turned on the backbeat, put's the shower on while he calls me"
  15. I’m still confused why they seemed to be on better terms early in her career (photographed together), and then things seem to really have gotten to a place where Lana is so vocal about her disdain for patty since 2021. The things she sings about in WFWF and Fingertips, are they perhaps post 2013-14? Anyways. Mothers are complicated. Not everyone can handle motherhood. I had a mother who would…withdraw when it came to difficult things; so I understand, to an extent, what it’s like to feel let down—or maybe even a little betrayed—by the person who should’ve fought for you hardest…
  16. I love the little oxymoron in "fallible deity". To be both imperfect and both sacred; or in a different way of reading it, she's saying that she was made divine and scared through error, which again, goes against what a "deity" literally is. It's just such a wonderful use of language.

My parents actually had to hide this lip balm from me when I was a kid because I kept eating it. The worst part is I believe The Body Shop stopped selling these in the late 80s and I was born in the 2000s.

  19. For a billion and a half dollars in shipping and handling fees if you live one inch outside of the US border
  20. I noticed that the speed/tempo fluctuations in Candy Necklace seem to be electronically created (rather than the band playing and slowing down while recording); I wonder if this aspect is what made that reviewer refer to it as "glitch pop"?
