I honestly just think Lorde is the kinda person who will put her artistry ahead of her loyalty to a partner. I think she realized she wasn’t pushed enough for SP (or pushed in the wrong direction) and I honestly think the comparisons to Jack’s other collaborators got under her skin lol

Since she didn’t attend Jack’s wedding, I kinda hope the rumors are true that she ditched him as a producer and L4 is gonna be produced by Blood Orange.

I also think both were equally pivotal in her career. One album ended the first chapter of her career (brooding trip-hop, troubled Americana starlet), and the other started this new chapter (introspective, deep philosophical poet). I see BTD-LFL as one era and NFR-present as a distinctly separate one, and I love that the ending to the first era was "out of the black, into the blue" and the start of the second era was "you took my sadness outta context". I think it's just perfect.

Lust for Life should've garnered the same critical and cultural acclaim as Norman Fucking Rockwell!
