  1. I’m glad this is Jack’s favorite because he needs to continue down this path if she continues working with him (and I say that as someone whose favorite Lana songs include White Dress & hope)
  2. remembering being told I was delusional for thinking Lana could delve into hip hop again also, it’s really cool hearing her say, “It’s not about having someone to love me anymore.” vs “Only worth living if somebody is loving you.”
  3. BoZ was right when he said it was unprecedented for Lana! I hope she continues exploring new sounds!
  4. I don’t expect the entire album to sound anything like A&W (it could be the “Dealer” of the record), but I think we’re in for a more experimental perspective on her recent work: more atmosphere, heavier sardonic lyricism, more playful alignments… I can’t express how much we likely won…
  5. She was ”making magic” with that Ian guy in September—I have a feeling it wasn’t for TUOB also, she normally has one song worked on before the next record, so I think it’s totally possible!
  6. The fact that she talked about how Norman had a ton of worldbuilding, but this record is just her vibing…she’s so effortlessly powerful…
  7. My favorite line might be, “Your mom called—I told her, ‘You’re fucking up big time!’”
  8. This album is her next magnum opus…I can feel it… also A&W gets better with each listen. Initially I was like, “It’s pretty good!” but now I think it might be one of her best singles ever. I really think it deserves to be played on a late night car ride
  9. I just woke up and Not at all what I was expecting! I really like it, and I think it’s going to grow on me even more
  10. I haven’t been keeping up as much as I normally do, but where did we find this out? I hadn’t heard this yet, but hopefully it’s not just the piano!
  11. Just before the album drops, I’m thinking about listening to Sweet Carolina to see the transition from LDR8 to LDR9. Based on her interviews and the lyrical connections between her closing and opening tracks, Lana seems to punctuate her records in an intentional, future-minded way, so it should be interesting to see! Not to mention that The Grants follows Sweet Carolina! The real question is what Taco Truck means for LDR10
  12. I wonder if it will have a clean transition, or if one track will end completely, and the next one starts up I also really hope both parts get a good amount of time each!
