  1. manifesting they both climb into our new favorites of all time
  2. Top 3 Prediction: 1. Candy Necklace 2. Taco Truck x VB 3. Fishtail Rockefeller… (however I’m hoping Kintsugi lives up to the hype and makes a grand appearance)
  3. Velvet Crowbar was playing in my dream last night (but yes, 100% agree!)
  4. This cover of West Coast isn’t my personal preference, but I’m always interested to see different interpretations of Lana songs—at least he took some artistic liberties & made it his own
  5. When Rob has an A&W-esque beat drop halfway through the record
  6. Manifesting a cover of Jimmy Buffett’s A Pirate Looks At Forty
  7. When Rob is my #1 on Spotify Wrapped & I have to defend myself in front of the Lana council
  8. When the debut drops & the first thing we hear after a series of haunting chords is, “Walking is an art”
  9. Apologies in advance if this has already been discussed, but Lana said in her interview that she originally fit 6 titles into one for the original LDR9 name. Given that the tracklist we have now allegedly has misleading titles, do we think that Pearl, Psycho Lifeguard, etc. were original titles for the current songs on LDR9? I suppose they could be scrapped tracks, but it’s interesting given that we know there was a shift in the tracklist names per insiders. edit: this was talked about 1 hour ago here. ignore me
  10. As much as I love A&W, the more I listen, the more unsettling the song becomes. That being said, it’s a really engaging listen, and I think she uses that to her advantage; eerie/dark themes can become unlistenable, but there’s enough sonic variation, storytelling, and shock factor to feed its replay value. As a side note, I wish I would have known nothing about A&W prior to my first listen—think I might start avoiding spoilers next time
  11. I love Lana’s change in vocal tone as she repeats, “I’m just like this.” It’s a simple detail, but I think that shift to an almost annoyed/spiteful inflection at the end really helped deliver the repetition in a meaningful way. There’s so much subtle anger, sarcasm, humor, celebration, etc. in A&W that gets highlighted just by a slight turn of her voice without the need for vocal acrobatics, so to speak. Love that for us
  12. My post is mostly a joke lol. Laura Sisk is an engineer Lana’s collaborated with, but she’s also worked with many other artists as well!
  13. So many thoughts about the new song now that it’s really settled in! Initially, I think my preconceived notions of how A&W would sound threw me off quite a bit, but after a few more plays and listening past those expectations, I can confidently say A&W is going to be one of my all-time favorites. Also, prior to the correct lyrics being posted, I didn’t remotely catch just how dark and nuanced this song is. That’s its own conversation, but I’m seriously so impressed—with A&W and the title track, the full picture of the record is slowly becoming more clear. Also, I cannot stress enough how amazing this song is with headphones—cranking up the volume with them really highlights her inflection and the little production gems. She knows she’s about to release album of the century
  14. I feel like it’ll be a more subtle but lyrically impactful track—BoZ compared the record to a travel through memories/places (iirc), so maybe it’s both touching on the themes of the movie while also detailing her time in Texas! I feel like it’s either going to be really fun, or it’ll be a more low-key, somber track
  15. Personally I don’t find them comparable because they’re so different but that’s just me
