I think Lana is (or at least was) in her lowkey era and that's all. She just wanted to do calmer and simpler music (while still sprinkling some fun moments here and there). I don't think she wants to become a folk singer songwriter only cause her inspirations are way broader than that (even though she loves Joni a lot and we can tell ). She literally said like 4 months ago that she wanted to collab with Migos She still has a long career ahead of her and if we take her discography as an example, I don't see her continuing this route for many more albums. Her first songs (Sirens and all those EPs) were basically just guitar, then we have AKA with a lot more going on and just after that all the pre BTD upbeat songs so it's not like the big switch BTD-UV-HM was a once in a lifetime thing. Don't get me wrong I totally get why some people wouldn't care or like the last past albums cause they lack some of the signature "Lana things" we all love but I don't think it's fair to say that she has became unoriginal or lazy just cause she wanted to put lyrics as the main point and leave production in second place. And this is not intended towards anyone in particular, it's just a thought about artistry and evolution cause Lana having so many records in such a short span of time makes it a very interesting topic to analyze (even if it's just surface level)

I don't think the "one take" means she just sings once and submits it as it is. I think she meant she sings the song from start to finish (multiple times) and chooses the one she likes the most (as a whole) instead of combining a "perfect" first verse, chorus, second verse etc from different takes.

Every studio pic we got had laura there so they are probably already mixing and mastering They (Jack and Lana) have probably been working together for a while but Rob only started teasing recently so maybe something it's indeed close Also... maybe they are using some of the NFR bombastic outtakes and that's why they are already at the later stages, just putting the finishing touches here and there

I don't think conceptual and cohesive should be considered the same thing. A conceptual album is about the lyrics whether it is about the same topic or follow a clear storyline. A cohesive record is more about the sound and instruments used. I don't think Lana has any concept albums but UV, HM and Chemtrails were highly cohesive

So... it's Honeymoon going to stay open from now on? If that's the case I'd prefer if she went back to the LDR one for promo/official posts and use the HM one for photo dumps and random shit. I just hope that if it ends up being the official one she doesn't change the bio

I support @PatentLeatherDoOver theory. Now that Chemtrails and BB are out I feel like she closed a chapter and the next one may be similar to Honeymoon (at least lyrically) very personal but less straight to the point and more dreamy. I think Lana didn't let herself "have fun" with the music on BB cause she wanted to make a statement so the lyrics were the main point (and even with that, she put Dealer and a trap interlude in there so I'm sure she's not going to become an acoustic piano only artist from now on). I mean I don't expect a full upbeat album but I really believe that what's next will be a big jump from BB

I don't think Cola is gone forever. She could just replace that name with another thing and that's it. She also said that she was never going to sing that line in UV and after a couple of shows she started singing it again so I think it was just the pressure of the interview. (Don't get me wrong, it was the right thing to do but I think there are other ways around the problem without retiring that song forever from her setlist)

I don't think it's that unlikely. I also remember seeing more than one person claiming they heard it too and it's not like Lana would have said "well the next one is worse sorry"

I wonder if we're getting a "proper" rollout this time. Chemtrails and BB were weird cause she announced them too early (and with fake dates) so everything she teased/released after that was confusing (up until the preorders of course). Maybe she's attending the grammy's with Jack and we get a little red carpet interview

For example, I learned not so long ago that Flipside's "intro" is actually fanmade and it's just the real intro guitar looped and reversed I believe As the song is not available on streaming and I don't have the special UV versions I've always listened to it from YT or other not legit places so I was shocked when someone here mentioned it. I think EMGHW and Hawaiian Tropic are both "final" versions (even Spin Me Round and On Our Way). I guess she just loved those parts too much and made a thousand songs combining them in different ways (and still released none of them) For me the demos of those are just the laptop acapella ones. I mean we could check the recording dates (if we have them all) to see the timeline

In the IG live she did after BB release she mentioned wanting to do an album trailer with Rich Lee but she worded it so weirdly. She said something like "I want to make an album trailer of album trailers I did" or something like that I have to rewatch the live to hear the quote but if was weird

I can't fucking stand the spoken part in Carmen. It makes a perfect song a 9/10 instead of a 10 Also why french when it's a Spanish name

Every Lana album has a couple of them so I don't think that's changing for LDR9

We don't have much about it but the first Honeymoon concept appeared to be more upbeat (if all the demos we have are real cause they all have more of a beat going on and more prominent drums)

I guess scheduling issues and the pandemic. Chemtrails was recorded (at least the majority of it) during the NFR sessions but all the new BB stuff was written and recorded after 2020

I don't want to start shit again but I hope Jack doesn't touch a single piano key for LDR9. That's my only complaint cause I really love what he does with guitars (MAC's ending, The greatest solo, the masterpiece that is Venice Bitch etc.). The production on CG and NFR intro strings are also amazing so I trust them for the next record but the only one allowed near a piano is daddy rick (and Rob obviously)
