Just jumping in to say omg I adore this song, I played it at the last party before covid and i so vividly remember being hungover in Starbucks and them having loads of covid signs up. This depends on why I’m sad but generally Fourth of July by Sufjan Stevens gets me Everytime. When you wake up on the first proper Summer day, what is your go-to song?

I just re listened with the goal to figure this out and I can’t really, but there is definitely parts where you can’t actually decipher whether it’s talking or backing vocals or even who it is. Like, at 1:20 there’s someone talking that’s reverbed but it sounds like Lana. At the start there’s something but idk if it’s speaking or vocals. The final chorus is a total mess (no shade, it’s my fav song) and there’s so many things going on in the background but good luck figuring out what they are.

Margaret’s placement is so awful I don’t hate the song but it ruins an otherwise perfect track run

If those NFR stats are true, I’m kind of surprised as well. I thought this album would absolutely bang. Especially since CN had second placement on New Music Friday. BUT it is an album full of longer songs, and it has been leaked for like two weeks (idc what anyone says, that DOES impact streams). So not totally sure what’s going on.

Got the VB part of Taco Truck on repeat atm.. truly a classic song and I’m glad we got this little mix of it.

I’ve found with every Lana album that my expectations/the adrenaline from the first listen totally clouds my mind. I can never decipher exactly how I feel about it until a few days later. Today, it’s becoming a lot clearer for me as well.

Soo true. The first time I listened, my heart was racing like crazy and I got super nervous. It was the first song I revisited after finishing my first listen. Definitely one of my favs!

She contains multitudes. She’s always including a dozen different topics in her songs. I think the song is overall about criticism and needing guidance, whether that be from God or from ancestral/familial connections.

It’s my fav Lana song so it’s not like I’ve stopped listening to it but this has always put a dampener on it ever since.. basically when I was 16 I got a boyfriend for the first time (via Reddit which makes it worse omfg) and when we met irl it was pouring down with rain and we were sharing some wired earphones and when she sang “kiss me hard in the pouring rain” we kissed and now whenever she sings that I just remember my kinda ugly Reddit boyfriend I had for three weeks..

Do we think that screaming song is Burn You where I Belong or whatever it was called Yeah, there was a different song in its place but it got swapped out last minute.
