Ok so obviously very nasty things about lana or her collaborators are unacceptable but y'all really get so worked up over people saying things like "i'm not buying her albums again" or voicing how irritated they are like.. i don't think anyone's in the wrong for being passionately upset. Limits and boundaries obviously apply but y'all DO have a superiority complex over not being disappointed and it's tiring

Honestly, yeah. The discussion could go round in circles and I just think it’s evil that powerful industry figures are allowing Olivia to be a scapegoat for money. You’re right though, Courtney should know better than to call out Olivia publicly when it most likely isn’t her fault (if there is even fault to be had). ive also never really looked at imagery as plagiarism, it’s a much different experience than listening.

I think Olivia doesn't get much artistic direction to be honest. Her album was very quickly rushed, and she's very young. She probably has most things chosen for her and she just says yes/no to them, if even that. So, I can see why it looks cruel for Courtney to go after such a young girl but the issue needs to be called out that a major label is pushing a young artist for a cash grab and in the meantime is stealing other people's work. I feel bad for Olivia but also for the other artists who have had their art ripped off by the label writing & producing songs for Olivia.

Period he's so annoying, he never snaps at the rude ones, it's always the nice ones.. Also, look at how much we love Mike, like clearly for the most part fans are nice to the ones who actually do their jobs (or, go above and beyond like Mike lol). Not surprised at all but definitely annoyed at Lana & Ben, idk why Lana does this to herself and idk why Ben finds it so hard to just clarify for her. They deleted the announcements months ago so they've most likely been sitting there knowing full well it's not coming out July 4th and not said anything. Imagine lol..

born to die being second longest charting album, plus being one of the best selling albums in France (like one of only five albums to go diamond there or something). overall her stability while not having repeated major hits (summertime sadness was a major major hit tho it’s literally iconic) is amazing to me, she’s one of the most famous singers in the world and she hasn’t even charted in like 7years singles wise. Also, the fact video games is the most critically acclaimed song of 2011(or oblivion by grimes is I forget lowkey) & one of the most acclaimed songs of the 2010s is whew..... She is living legend status and nobody even comes close to her achievements imo bc she’s got a hit under her belt (summertime sadness), a huge cult following (she will never flop), a critically acclaimed single (video games, among others), record breaking album (born to die, best selling debut album for a female in the 2010s/since the 2000s, second longest charting female album, longest charting debut album), massive sold out tours, etc.. also, the clear influence she’s had on the modern soundscape is undeniable and even artists like Taylor & Bruce Springsteen are seeing it!! this is more of an objective response but overall I don’t think lana has a greatest single achievement, she’s had an extremely successful career and she should be proud of the fan base she’s created. Besides kpop, I don’t think there’s a single other artist with a cult following like Lana’s. She doesn’t have the largest fan base but, for example, Katy Perry in 2013 had probably the biggest fan base yet look at her now. I don’t see Lana’s fans ever leaving her

I can’t stop thinking about what BOZ said, it’s as if he expected to see a date, whether it be July 4th or otherwise. As in, even without it being changed, he expected July 4th to be included in whatever new info he’s seen but since there’s no date anywhere, he doesn’t know what to think. And that kinda scares me xx

BOZ said the era would officially start on the day the singles were released (as in, BOZ said “the era will officially start in two weeks, I can’t believe she’s doing this” and two weeks later the songs were dropped) and Eclipse said a couple days before that three singles were gonna be released. IIRC, eclipse gets his stuff a lot later on (I thought it was from YT, hence why he always teased thumbnails and song lengths like the day before release) but seemingly with COCC onwards he’s been very in the know. edit: bye I have no idea how I replied to you but I can’t find the person I thought I was replying to so we staying here ??

I think he’s saying that the updates were made but no date was posted with the updates? So, it could be because it didn’t get changed or because they don’t have a new date yet

I was just thinking about how the controversies have affected her the past year or so and like, I really hate when fans say things like, and I’m guilty of saying this in the past but, “can she only talk about the music, enough with politics”. Like, imagine being Lana and pouring all your time and effort into making incredible music for your fans and they just water you down to a machine that churns out songs for them to listen to. Like, I’d be heartbroken if I was her and saw so many of my fans just openly dis her, even when they often agreed/understood what she was saying (e.g. qtftc). Basically, I think Lana has obviously stopped putting a lot of effort into her eras and has truly started only making music for herself so we can’t expect any major budget videos or thought out release schedules. And it’s kinda our fault:(

OMG if thunder’s been added and it’s already fully mastered and mixed then maybe that’s what she’s done w the rest of the songs? Like, scrapped the new songs she made and just added unreleased songs that she recorded years ago? What if that’s why Mike said Blue Banisters is still being worked on? Because that album’s been delayed but Lana doesn’t want to let us down so she’s compiling songs she’s already completed and have been fully mixed, mastered and registered so a release can still happen July 4th. Also explains why those three new songs were released together & why she might not be too bothered about physical copies.

NFR pre-release was so fun bc there was stuff happening behind the scenes thag we could discuss like everything she did was discussed at great length and it was generally fun. Now, there’s nothing to discuss. It’s just the occasional selfie and we can’t do anything with that?

You're absolutely right omg.. she needs to stop with the songs that go nowhere, like with no buildup or climax. like WW was only good because of the production on the last minute, if she released a stripped back version it would be so boring i would zzzz out of there

Didn't this happen with love? it leaked so they rush released it and it really threw off the lfl release schedule. Also, the fact it got uploaded early by some streaming sites kinda supports that it was a last minute, rushed thing without proper planning anyway i absolutely adore this song omg it's so lorde to me? i don't stan her at all but i do like all her previous work and listen to it regularly and this seems to fit her sound completely. Very summery and as much as i hate antonoff, i can't fault the production really (except the instrumental seems to be what makes the song ebb and flow, rather than the vocals/melody which I'm not a huge fan of but I still think the instrumental is good enough to not mind it)
