The only reason why I don’t think Lana could make a surprise drop work is because all of her dates get leaked by insiders a few weeks/days early. I think the 3 singles she released last year were meant to be a surprise, but insiders got ahead of her. She needs a better team like Taylor’s that can hide that stuff better.

If Lana hadn’t posted saying the he was going to be working on a classical record, I wouldn’t believe it either.

That’s a good point. I don’t think they would need her permission to release new vinyl versions though. I’ve seen a few artists relevase anniversary versions of albums with just existing remixes added to them.

Yeah I don’t get this either. BTD(album) could have easily gone #1 a few months ago, if they had done anything to release a 10th year anniversary version on streaming and a few new vinyl versions. They should be able to easily download some unreleased songs from SoundCloud or YouTube and just put them on streaming. They don’t even have to make her re-record them.

I think the opposite. I don’t see the album sounding that different from songs from Blue Banisters. Especially with Drew and Rob’s involvement. When she talked about single vocal takes, wordy songs, and orchestral instrumentation, I immediately thought about Arcadia. I think this album is going to be full of Arcadias and Sweet Carolinas. If she were working with different producers, I would be more hopeful about getting a new sound for this album.

This is exactly how I felt about Blue Banisters. It feels like she had a few new songs she wanted to get out, so she announced a random release date for an album. Then she realized she didn’t have enough songs for a full album and went on YouTube to rip some unreleased songs from there. Chemtrails also felt a little rushed, but it had a more clear concept in my opinion. It at least had more songs intended for that specific album on there.

Nikki kind of worked with more interesting producers for her upcoming album than Lana is currently tbh. She worked with people from Queens of the Stone Age and Arctic Monkeys. Nikki needs to introduce them to Lana so we can get another rock album.

I keep thinking about how Lana said she was angry in the songs and yet her dad seems to be pretty involved in the album. She didn’t want to talk about WW around him, which makes sense, but it seems like she might hold back lyrically around him. It will be interesting to see what the songs will end up sounding like, because I’m having a hard time imaging anything other than cute family songs like Sweet Carolina.

Interesting. Then I wonder why he said this today. Maybe he is just assuming based off of what Lana has said about the album.

Honeymouns seems pretty confident that she is doing something different for this album. I don’t know how they would know that unless they have heard some of the songs, so I’m going to stay positive for now.

Had a dream that Spotify leaked the album released date. It was September 30th.

NFR is really popular right now. I consider that part of her newer music. If you look at her most streamed songs from a few days ago, NFR and BTD appear the most with 3 tracks each. NFR is the last album she really promoted, so I think it makes sense for her last two albums to not have as much attention. Kind of like what happened to Honeymoon. I’m sure if she puts effort into promoting new music, it can also do well.

Apparently Ben has been promising new Ellie Goulding music since January too. I hope this doesn’t end up being a similar situation. Although the fact that he said album and not just music gives me hope.

That makes sense. I thought he was maybe hinting at another “authentic” singer songwriter type album.

What does he mean by “real songwriters album”?

Nikki has an album coming out in September, and it doesn’t look like Lana is involved. I feel like their collab album isn’t coming out any time soon. I had completely forgotten about him. I think she’s had at least 3 other alleged boyfriends since they broke up.

Honeymouns said they weren’t real. Aren’t they pretty reliable? I also don’t think her current songwriting is bad at all except for parts of Beautiful.

Not sure if this has been discussed on here, but it looks like BOZ doesn’t have any news.

I remember someone on here said the songs she had been working on were boring and hoped they wouldn’t get released. Boring is a pretty vague description, but I guess a few people are claiming to have the songs now.

What are the odds that WCE ends up on this album? She was thinking of adding I Can Fly to Blue Banisters at some point, so I think it could happen.

Yeah nothing about what she said in the interview made me think that she is enjoying the music she is making right now. Makes me wonder why she doesn’t just release the the wordy songs as part of the poetry book she is working on and wait until she gets inspiration to release new music. There are many projects that she could release in the mean time like a 10th anniversary BTD reissue or the covers album. She can obviously release whatever she wants though, and I’ll listen to whatever she puts out but keeping my expectations low for now.

Someone asked him yesterday but he hasn’t answered. I remember he once said that he didn’t like sharing info on Lana because she changed her mind so often. So I’m thinking either nothing is coming soon or she is doing a better job at keeping her plans away from insiders this time.

He is an okay producer. The main problems with Beautiful and Arcadia were the mixing which I believe he worked on. I don’t think he has ever been a main producer for any other artist, so it’s hard to judge his work outside of Lana. He hasn’t really brought out anything new in Lana sonically speaking, but I do agree that part of that is on her as well. Willing to give him a chance because Arcadia and Sweet Carolina are really good songs though.
