LDR9 - Pre-Pre-Release Thread

been saying it for years. lana should release an album that's all of her most depraved fucked up songs just to see how people would react. -
This album is so slow like it moves like a glacier. But I also think it's pretty gorgeous in a messy, very personal way. Lana is so intimate, it's like she tells you her darkest secrets but you still don't really know who she is. Let's rewrite history, I'll do this dance with you... There's a hole that's in my heart all my women try and heal They're doin' a good job convincin' me that it's not real It's heat lightning I promise that nothing will burn you.

We’re less than 24 hours since Lana “titty” Del Rey released her hottest photo shoot in years and all you cucks can do is complain about how much you don’t like music that we haven’t heard a single note of. just kidding I love you all -

Lana has no bad albums except for lust for life so I see no reason not to be pumped for this new one. Plus, like I always say there's only one Lana. What we're gonna get is what we're gonna get. Might as well look forward to it! -
y'know that lady is right. clearly Lana is copying her: they are both leaning on their elbow. she should sue. .... lmaooo

@Venice Peach That makes sense if all four are considered 'finished songs'. Such a shame that there's no released song with the "kiss me in your Chevrolet" melody — it's one of her best. -

Hawaiian Tropic vs. Every Man Gets His Wish. Which one is the final version of the song? On Our Way vs. Spin Me Round: which is the final version of that song? My guess is that Hawaiian Tropic and On Our Way are the final versions of each song, but I could be persuaded otherwise if anybody knows for sure. Clearly Lana was playing around with some cut-and-paste verses and choruses to try and get the right combination of ingredients. -

I left my city for San Francisco And I'm writing from the Golden Gate Bridge But it's not going as I planned I took a free ride off a billionaire and brought my typewriter And promised myself that I would stay, but It's just not going the way that I thought It's not that I feel different, and I don't mind that it's not hot It's just that I belong to no one, which means there's only one place for me The city not quite awake, the city not quite asleep The city that's still deciding how good it can be -

We know that there are "bombastic" songs from the Antonoff recording sessions that still haven't been used. And of course there's Loved You Then and Now. Maybe they're putting finishing touches on those songs? IDK, I don't get people being upset. I think we've known for a while that Jack was coming back. Plus nowadays Chemtrails is pretty highly regarded and of course NFR was a major success even if some fans didn't like it. And Lana and Jack clearly get along well -- it makes sense that they would keep working together. -

I don't think the Blue Banisters production is bad or unprofessional. On vinyl it sounds excellent. There's the echoey atmosphere effect on the new songs that I think someone else (was it @lanasbottom?) described as a "thick gray paste", which I don't mind but clearly some people really don't like. I think the actual problem is that many of the songs did not compress well, especially Arcadia, and don't sound great on Spotify. -

Lana has always written ballads. Part of including Cherry Blossom and Nectar of the Gods on BB was to prove that she had always written songs like that. Hell, think of Sirens or Pawn Shop Blues or On Our Way. What we need to manifest are ballads with fat beats like Without You or Born to Die. -
The Forgotten Unreleased Songs

I've been interested in her really bubblegum pop songs from 2010-2011, including: Meet Me in the Pale Moonlight Take Me To Paris Driving in Cars with Boys - Demo (with the higher singing) Prom Song Queen of Disaster Some of these I think are still pretty popular, but they go together in a really fun way that feels like a forgotten album in-between AKA and Born to Die that could have been really amazing. -

Currently obsessed with the extended outro of "Wayamaya". It's like a religious chant, especially with Lana's uncanny voice -- she really elevates the simplest of lyrics into pop art. Waikiki-ko, Waikiki-ko Waikiki, Waikiki, Waikiki-ko Waikiki-ko, Waikiki-ko Waikiki, Waikiki, Waikiki-ko -
