im not someone who listens to mainstream music or anything on the billboard hot 100 (unless its lana of course) but im not going to put down other peoples tastes n call them dumb besides that, melodic n atmospheric music from lana does so well bc its easy on the ears, fun to listen to, and the subject matter is usually not super heavy like her recent songs. there is a clear difference and people prefer her old style for a reason. people arent stupid bc they prefer more traditional song structure and atmosphere.

remind me of one that song has the same atmosphere and cinematic quality that SYTH has

the recent videos shes posting scare me she looks dead behind the eyes but i think its bc shes shooting the joker movie

i need lana to reflect long n hard on why this song is doing so well

maybe this is an unpopular opinion but i much prefer the production on YTH compared to kintsugi, sweet, grandfather, etc. also, im not saying yth is leagues better but im saying that its style of production n lyricism is better imo.

i hope she sees the love this song is getting n thinks “hmm maybe my more atmospheric production and not-so-matter-of-fact lyrics are better than what ive been doing “

listening to this version for the first time and its actually so pretty. a lot of dreamy elements were added n it has even more atmosphere than other versions. i hope lana enjoyed making this version n continues to add more atmosphere to future songs. i do miss the heavier drums but the bass line drums are enough to make the song interesting.

no exactly like i want to give her my money n not stream the unreleased version but thats kinda what shes making the people who love the other versions do thats literally what i said in my initial post

believe it or not, a lot of thought goes into each release n they obviously reproduced it and took out the bridge n drums for a reason. she consciously chose to not keep those elements in the song. people can be frustrated with that.

i think its just the initial frustration of an artist like lana who has an insane catalog of amazing songs n then always seems to release the lesser versions of them. i havent heard the released version yet (waiting till tomorrow) but knowing she removed the bridge n drums is just like ??? she never does what anyone would *want* her to do but thats why we love her

exactly!! this is why i cant stand people who are so classically trained that all they have is technical ability. no character, no emotion, nothing. just a technically “good” voice.
