what bothers me about that “engineering nightmare” line is that so many people are out here making music thats comparable to hers and arent having “engineering nightmares”… some i would argue are even more complex. im not going to pretend i understand why she does what she does but its annoying as a fan. there are probably so many incredible projects from her that we’ll never hear or get to experience in their entirety bc shes quirky. also i have horrible adhd n still do my job everyday

also, if she knows she has a tendency to get bored of her music maybe she should put it out quicker??? if book 2 doesnt get released ASAP (assuming its done) then she’s literally just being annoying n messy

no same. i understand the hate but the atmosphere is TOO GOOD even though ive always hated church n organized religion its kinda fun to get a peak inside of a sermon once in awhile especially when its on top of a such a hauntingly beautiful track + lana giggles

i definitely see this and agree with you. maybe shes trying to create new *classic* references within her work? im not sure. however, something about these references feel different to me but maybe im biased.

yes theres so much sampling from recent work. even in taco truck the “caribbean blue in sweater weather” sounds like a reference to “youre in the wind im in the water” from cocc. taco truck shouldve definitely been a full song, leaving off VB. also, like someone pointed out earlier, the bartender melody in fingertips. yeah im not sure if laziness is the right word but its just odd. parts of the album sound fresh and others sound like a carbon copy of what we’ve heard before. i know lanas capable of creating new things so its not a testament to her talent but maybe her level of effort? i still think the album is good and i come back to some songs but yeah… this realization im having is making me feel a bit differently about the album.

there’s literally no reason to insult someone’s intelligence lmao…… im not saying they serve no purpose however, there are so many melodies, lyrics, samples, and literally an entire song that were taken from her past work on this album. a reference here n there is cute but i mean… the sheer amount of references is taking away from this albums originality.
