  1. i think this is lana’s best album out of the last 3 shes released. however, i definitely have a strong preference for her old voice, rich production, and melodies/lyrics. i cant help it. hearing the leaks yesterday made me so sad bc (in my opinion) theyre leagues better and more replayable than most of the songs on this new album. i really think she should leave the wordiness to her poetry (which i LOVE. i listen to violet all the time). i applaud lana for her ability to grow and change as an artist. who knows, maybe if she stuck with her old style it wouldve got boring. i just know each time we get a leak from an old era, im immediately swung into being hypnotized by lana again. i dont feel that way with the new songs.
  2. after sitting with this album and the newness has worn off…. i have to say im underwhelmed and not in love with many of the songs. it makes me so sad
  3. agreed its honestly a bop but the production takes me out of the vibe every time i listen
  4. i think this album is one of lanas best. the song writing is impeccable and the melodies (for the most part) are so catchy n hypnotic. each song is so special and the interludes add so much atmosphere. i dont think it tops my other faves (UV, NFR, HM) because although im very into experimental song structure and stream-of-consciousness writing, i do miss when lana’s songs felt really put together and intentional. verse-course-verse-course-insane bridge-course/outro is something i miss quite a lot from her but i do love this album n the entire era and we’re so lucky to be able to look back n listen to all the different facets of lana
  5. i honestly think this album not getting a ton of streams is partially due to the little promotion it got but also just not being super accessible. there’s some fun songs for the GP but for the most part its a really heavy album centered around heavy topics. songs about childhood, death, suicide, etc. aren’t necessarily going to get her big numbers. her core fans will love and listen to the album the most but i think lana knows that.
  6. yes this is exactly how i feel. sometimes i feel like lanas newer singing style can feel very theatrical. unfortunately, thats how her vocals sounded on this song. dont get me wrong, she sounds great it just gives a vibe to the song im not the biggest fan of.
  7. after some time with the album, i think my least favorites are: fishtail - it sounds like a cheap remix of a lana song. the lyrics are beautiful so it makes me so sad that the production just isnt good. sweet - it feels like filler to me. definitely not a stand out track but its not horrible like another track we know…. kintsugi - i really thought i’d love this one but even after multiple listens it just isnt clicking. i appreciate the lyrics and lana’s vulnerability. i can also relate to the lyrical content (i lost two people in my family last year) but something just feels off about it. margaret - this makes me sad bc its literally my name the course is catchy n sweet but the writing feels a bit corny to me, i get a taylor swift vibe which i dislike, and jack ruins the vibe.
  8. waiting for fishtail and kintsugi to click but they dont measure up to the rest of the album for me
  9. in what way??? its so vulnerable and sad. sure its about her but how is it self indulgent??
  10. Caroline, what kind of mother was she to say I'd end up in institutions? All I wanted to do was kiss Aaron Greene and sit by The lake, twisting lime into the drinks that they made Have a babe at sixteen, the town I was wed in and die these lyrics just crush my soul to think how different lana’s life would have been, whether she’d be happier, the betrayal she mustve felt. i know she finally feels at peace but i can’t help but feel shes still mourning the shot she had at a simple life.
  11. why did they assign a man who’s never been touched by a woman to review a lana album???
  12. i love the lyrics of fishtail but something about the sound isnt clicking with me. it sounds almost too “radio-friendly” for lana.
  13. lana and jon’s voices so effortlessly melt together at the end of candy necklace its HEAVEN i feel like im floating
  14. i honestly really liked the interludes. they add so much to the album’s atmosphere. i especially loved the jon batiste interlude
  15. first of all this album is AMAZING. i need to spend more time with all the songs but on first listen my faves are candy necklace, A&W, fingertips, paris, texas, peppers and taco truck
  16. i wasnt able to attend the listening party in my city bc of work im ACHING to hear this album im so excited for tomorrow
  17. i would honestly love a “hope” type a video for this album that video is so sweet n nostalgic to me
  18. i wanna believe the second one mostly bc i dont want to interpret a lot of her lyrics to be about a man …. however the family man lines trips me up
  19. this may be controversial but this album will be her best to date its cinematic, vulnerable, otherworldly yet grounded, mature, sweet, and quintessential lana. shes topping her entire discography with this one
