i haven’t played the sims 4 in a while but i actually always preferred the “alpha” style of cc over the “maxis” style, the maxis style is just too cartoony & corny for my tastes, i feel like there’s so much more you could do with the alpha cc

Me too. Maxis match seems like a poor excuse to cut corners. I remember in 2014 being shocked by the clay hair and how outdated it looks. Sims 2 had so much detail and you can choose what aesthetic you want without looking odd in the game. I also hate how sims in TS4 have super cartoony animations. Their face gets so distorted when making facial expressions. Their eyebrows end up on half of their forehead when raising them, pregnant sims look like they're carrying quadruplets and their movements are so quirky and unrealistic. People who worship this kind of style give me Disney adult vibes.

As for sexual orientations, it looks like a way to pander to the LGBTQ+. I only like the casual hookup option. Sims were always bisexual by default but can turn gay or straight depending on which gender we set our sims to flirt with. I'm kinda curious how aromantic sims will be able to date.

  2. I can't describe how much i love the "This place is so Lana Del Rey vinyyyyl 💅🏻" meme. Those were basically my thoughts when I see an old fashioned home with a huge garden of roses. I can also be super cocky for using that sound/quote and being an owner of a Lana Del Rey vinyl. Tiktok is doing q service for this fan base, not ruining it like some people may think.

Also if Doja Cat or Ariana Grande had a boyfriend like that people would be defending them with their life. People are so empathetic to attention seeking celebs like the Kardashians but pick on Lana probably for not being good at defending herself. Why would anyone care about someone's partner unless he's a pedo, Nazi, racist etc. Where's that energy for Nicki Minaj's husband? If Lana's bf is gay or bi it's Lana's business and why would people care if she's obviously okay with it.

  3. Okay so I just found it about her NFTs and I'm upset why she doesn't sell those as plushies. I don't listen to her for years but I would've definitely get one and keep it on my bed next to my cushions.

    Some people are shamelessly moneyhungry.

  4. Babes, I think this thread is the right one for this question.

You probably know about the heart pendant necklace with a spoon. It's extremely rare and I'll probably buy a silver copy on Etsy. I was wondering what was the price of the original, of what material was made and if gold was the only color available? I loved it before I found out it's Lanas merch, I thought it was just her favorite necklace that went viral that it got named after her.

If anything, people in those MTV eras were much more focused on age and appearance. Like yeah I’m sure she is self conscious about not releasing more music during her 20s but it’s not like she’s by any means old or that she has somehow missed the opportunity to be relevant or gain massive success. I mean if you think of all the biggest starts right now, they are all around Sky’s age or older so I don’t really understand this comment.

I said pre-MTV. I'm aware that MTV was the beginning of the obsession with appearance. She's not old but being 30 in her industry is tricky unless you're already mainstream. Today's biggest stars had their big break in their early 20s - mid 20s, of course they're going to inevitably be 30. I wish people, primarily women, of all ages have the same chance of making if big but sadly it's not the case. I see the music industry pushing minors more and more.

i loved how shes surrounded around all these legends yet cant get like famous like charli thats like so sad

That always baffles me with her. She has so many photos with A listers has been to good events but is nowhere to be found. I feel like she's awful at networking. Look how Julia Fox made it. Nobody is clowning her anymore for Uncut Jaaaaahms and she's being taken seriously in the fashion world.

Perhaps a controversial take but I think she would've been even more famous than Charli and Grimes if NTMT had been properly promoted and she had put out music regularly in the years following its release...

But as she's said many of her idols didn't find  success until their 30s. If she can actually release the damn album I think she has a real shot at establishing herself as more than a cult figure who released a great song (EIE) followed by a great album and then disappeared forever

You must be new on this thread because it's what the majority if not everyone thinks. I can definitely imagine her being a B lister grunge queen who collabs with the Weeknd and Lana.

Her saying that about her idols is probably a coping mechanism because she may be insecure about her age. Her idols also might be people in an era before MTV when nobody cared about looks and age.

I love Meg myers old material-I made a thread on here that nobody cared about and she’s gone off the rails a bit…but this is an alt pop/rock girl highlight-

You should all Stan her tbf

Wait wait, what happened with her?

Also I for some reason I feel proud that I had listened Desire on repeat before the remix went viral on Tiktok.

Can I just say 99% of the music today  has no substance and is becoming more and more like a product pushed by a corporation, the time of true musically gifted artists is coming to an end. We are left with bad actors trying to be someone they are not and industry plants.

So I’ve tried to get into a lot of todays music and I just can’t.

Seriously tho. Everyone has that exact same hip hop beat I linked below. The background music in KUWTK is a great example. I liked it at first when onla couple of artists started using it but now I'm sick.

It's also the fact that music genres are literally getting recycled. I understand that nothing came out of vacuum but pushing 2000s pop punk instead of coming up a new rock sub genre is pathetic. I took 2010s alt scene for granted because although it was a 90s revival it had plenty of new elements and was far from recycled. Artists like Dua Lipa brought nothing new and sampled already classic recognizable songs because it's a safe hit. My parents love 80s synth pop and still think this revival is cheap and refuse to get into it.

I agree with this, but probably I would re-state it as/add that 99% of the music from new artists, aka from the last 3 years? Many new artists are releasing music for the trends and streaming numbers, and the lack of quality shows :toofunny: though other relatively new artists like AURORA (around 7 years) are a completely different story, and it shows.

And even artists that have already been in the industry for a long time seem to have lowered their standards (e.g. imo Katy Perry with Smile, which cannot be compared with her older albums like Teenage DreamOne of the Boys or Prism, or Lady Gaga with Chromatica, compared to Born This Way or The Fame Monster)* and that makes the new releases often questionable, I'd dare to say.

*I love Katy and Gaga and enjoy like half of Smile and Chromatica, it was just the first example that came to mind.

Hope it doesn't get twisted, my main point was that musicians trying to adjust to trends (looking at you, TikTok) have made music quality different, to say the least.

I don't think those were good examples. Every artist has a weaker era and they were so successful and iconic that it's extremely hard to outdo themselves. Ariana is the type to get better after each album, Rihanna's first album was the weakest IMO.

I don't think that TikTok destroyed music. I discovered many awesome alt songs that YouTube would've never recommended to me. I also remember that pop albums in the 2010s (when buying individual songs became a thing) were mostly compilations of songs which usually only have strong singles. Now I hear more and more people listening to albums and talking about them. So it's definitely a double-edged sword. Sometimes I wish we lived in a time when physical copies were a thing but then we would have much less access to good music.

i swear the word halsey needs to be banned in this thread, at this point some of yall just seem obsessed :biblio: but i get it yall r bored since don't forget was just another downhill lullaby situation

We need to spice up this thread somehow cause it's starting to become dry :brows:

Also Halsey and Sky have had multiple 'feuds' and Sky's mom was starting shit like those Karen moms on the playground that harass any kid that touches their kid. Imagine Tonia if Sky was an A or B lister? Her internet presence would've been a 9-5 job or even longer.

  10. I literally discovered Running Up The Hill via covers because every alt singer and their mom covered it. Sky's mom is embarrassing and jealous af. We can say that Sky is a great artist and the song fits her so much while also admitting that there is a dose of jealousy because Halsey has been so much luckier and successful. Btw my favorite cover of that song is by Meg Myers

it irritates my soul the way they ONLY use old pictures of her when she was super skinny, they idealize objectification and abuse turning it into some disgusting aesthetic. i honestly dont even think they care for lana, they just care for what can be manipulated out of her image, using her lyrics out of their context to make it seem as though lana is glorifying being submissive to men. they see lana as a accessory to their aesthetic and thats all she is to them. it makes me angry because lanas music is so powerful and shouldn't be taken advantage like this. i think the tiktok community is fairly young too, i dont think they truly comprehend the songs meanings i mean i didnt understand them myself until i was older and had been exposed to those experiences of love and pain. anyways like @Tropico Angel said its embarrassing and i hope they grow out of it

      Hide contents

tiktok using young&beautiful lyrics "will you still love me when im no longer young and beautiful" showing recent pictures of her+ones where shes bloated in the beginning and then old ones of her where shes slimer implying that shes now no longer young and beautiful as she was in earlier years because of her weight. i turned into into a gif for yall to seeezgif-4-fe7721c024.gif

Tbh tumblr girls did the exact same. There are hundreds of memes how Lana "ruined" them at 14 and shit. As for skinny Lana, her aesthetic was better back then, she was more unique, edgy and put more into her looks and aesthetic. She was also younger and more reckless which appeals to young people more than her mellow presence now. I'm also a bigger fan of BTD-UV Lana than COCC-BB Lana.

Lana did glamorize being submissive and toxic relationships especially in UV. People just need critical thinking when listening to her and she's not responsible for people that lack. I don't mind it because not everyone needs to sing about empowerment and healthy boundaries.

Aa for the Y&B part, that is gross. That sound is supposed to be used on old loving couples, not someone who gained a little weight ans is in her 30s.

So many people pretend to like her unreleased stuff to seem edgy when the vast, VAST majority of those songs are god awful, even some (most) of the more “popular” ones are literal shite:smokeney:

Those coquette girls who only read Lolita come into my mind. Lana's old songs have super pretentious edgy lyrics which is probably a magnet for teenage girls. I remember as a teen being turned on by You Can Be The Boss, especially "got a cigarette with his number on" and "the liquor on your lips I just can't resist".

  13. Yeah, probably two or three depending on my financial situation or whatever other situation. The Sims made me love big families. As a kid I would probably idealize those annoying Christian family channels.

Do you wish to change something about your country?

She has/had Lyme disease …that’s one of her reasons for music delays and bad health? I dunno sounds suspicious to me.. What is it with celebrities and Lyme disease? Do they roll around in fields all day or something? Seems strange so many have had it.  Didn’t know Lyme made you look like a Coke and meth head 🤷🏼‍♂️

I heard that Lyme disease was a cover up for drug addiction which makes complete sense. Having Lyme disease is pretty rare and celebs make it look like every 3rd person has it. People who are most likely to have it are people into horse riding like Bella Hadid or farmers. My mom contracted it by riding a bike and went to treatments and it's really not that severe, I think she wasn't allowed to drink alcohol and maybe had small fatigue, nobody noticed she had Lyme disease and that lasted for a couple of months. Compare that to celebs whose Lyme disease lasts for years, "takes over" their life and changes their appearance despite having the best access to health care and being in their 20s.

  15. Guys, how about we add some irony and shitposting to this thread or at least post more mainstream songs. I bet the majority here just scrolls past all of those songs. This thread will get dry in a couple of days if we continue with this vibe.

Yeah, a lot of her catalog reminds me of summer as well, but Chemtrails & Blue Banisters hit more when the weather starts cooling down in the fall imo

Ohh yeah, I forgot about post NFR albums lmao. COCC and BB definitely have a fall vibe, but COCC can also pass as spring album. It kinda reminds of the time I traveled a lot by train in early spring and would play COCC while the sun was shining and nature finally becoming green.

  18. I'm flattered by the fact that people who work in vinyl stores claim that Lana's records sell out in a couple days after arriving. The stans won't give up on being stans with their average salary of 500$:sass:

Also, UV 1LP is literally 50€ everywhere, the average 1LP is 35€ btw. I don't know if there's a 1LP that's more expensive than Ultraviolence. There's probably a really high demand for that record hence why they sell ir for such a ridiculous price. I bought a brand new 2LP of UV for 30€ by searching on the internet for hours and hours and finally finding a good deal. Record stores here are really greedy that their workers don't even want to buy from them. I was literally sharing sites with good deals with a worker as well as him sharing some knowledge lmao.

Not to bring about another discussion about associating her albums with seasons, but I must say that Lust for Life, Norman and Honeymoon are the perfect summer albums. Just listened to all three back to back and it was an experience.

Groupie Love, Summer Bummer, In My Feelings, White Mustang, Cherry, Change, Mariners, Venice, Fuck It I Love You, Doin' Time, Music to Watch Boys to, Terrence, High by the Beach, Freak, Religion

Whew, these songs just hit more in the sunshine and blistering heat :illumilana2:

Tbh her entire discography reminds me of summer except BTD. I usually fall in love with her songs in summer, Honeymoon being the exception, but the vibe is still summer. It's maybe because she's from LA which is not known for having pronounced seasons, especially winter.

For me it’s because her music can be pretty good, I like her sound and the atmosphere it gives off…it’s frustrating to see her not being able to reach her full potential musically and have several albums.

For me it's also the music and her old aesthetic. I watched multiple of her interviews and her personality is always like boiled unseasoned chicken.

i’m sorry but you shouldn’t have to educate a man about your rights, it’s 2022 & he could easily learn the facts about abortion himself, or maybe he should’ve just listened to what women were saying about it from the start, at this point it’s his own ignorance, you shouldn’t have to change his ways of thinking for him, & it isn’t worth being with somebody who you think “respects” you, like you said, at some point you may need one, what are you going to do when he doesn’t want you to get one? obviously, you have the choice, but a man who subscribes to right-wing ideals probably has views about women which are just backwards & wrong, you shouldn’t have to settle for somebody who doesn’t believe in your rights, or somebody who has viewpoints which you believe are harmful & wrong, he can change his beliefs on his own, he shouldn’t need a woman to do that for him

I respect your opinions. You guys give good, non toxic advice. Sadly, many people here are not very educated. Also, I don't know a single relationship that lasted after an abortion. Abortions aren't talked about anywhere except among regular people, just like birth control. My friend, a girl, also views abortion as murder and so do many people here despite being fully legal. Having an unplanned baby ironically destroyed her future and attached her to a broke, jobless bum. They probably don't connect abused children to being unwanted, don't know anyone from the foster system and orphanages and think that everyone who decides to give birth to their unwanted child will in 100% case change their mind because motherly instinct. I know some people who are all from the above and they had the saddest lives in high school. I think that people will talk more about this on the TV. They will probably attract plenty of misogynists that don't have any other argument except screaming 'murder'  but that makes it even easier to win a debate and educate people.
