  1. Neither did Mariners Apartment Complex though. I think that Ocean Blvd will be her second most acclaimed album to date with a Metacritic score around 82-85. It sounds a bit too adventurous and personal and won't cater to the masses, while NFR had a more "pleasant"/"accessible" sound overall. Anyway, I missed the tea yesterday. Kintsugi sounds like a potential career highlight. The lyrics are extraordinary.
  2. So it's A&W and not AW (phew!), and Fingertips is on Side C. @Fingertips Lol at them crediting every single feature except for poor AK on Fishtail. And apparently none of the features will be credited on the streaming services according to BOZ, lmao. #iamsorandom
  3. Who is the Tarot Cards reading legend who posted descriptions of all tracks a month ago? It'll be pretty funny if they turn out to be accurate given all the latest info.
  4. Kintsugi is giving Japanese minimalism, so the bare piano makes sense. The whispering/"barely opens her lips" thing brings the first chorus of Blue Banisters to mind. And it's slower than Change. It sounds like a very idiosyncratic track, actually. Anyway, @Kintsugi picked that one for their username and said that it's the best song ever, so I'm hoping for the best. Peppers, GPSOTSOMFWHDSF and Let the Light In are the real head-scratchers though. I don't know what to expect from these songs sonically. I assume that Let the Light In must be orchestral/jazzy, and Peppers must be vibey like Fishtail and Taco Truck. But you never know with Lana, lol. I have no idea about the Grandfather track at all.
  5. @Kintsugi said that the samples aren't as obvious as we might think. So she's probably reworked them a lot and/or their presence on the tracks is subtle.
  6. 01. The Grants - 4:57 02. Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd - 4:45 03. Sweet - 3:35 04. A&W - 7:13 05. Judah Smith Interlude - 4:36 06. Candy Necklace - 5:14 07. Jon Batiste Interlude - 3:33 08. Kintsugi - 6:18 09. Fingertips - 5:48 10. Paris, Texas - 3:26 11. Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep-sea fishing - 4:00 12. Let the Light In (feat. Father John Misty) - 4:38 13. Margaret (feat. Bleachers) - 5:39 14. Fishtail - 4:02 15. Peppers (feat. Tommy Genesis) - 4:08 16. Taco Truck x VB - 5:53
  7. I wonder if the "x VB" isn't going to be featured on the final mockup either. Kintsugi has the track without the "x VB" lol. - AW => A&W - Fingertips moved to SIDE C - Taco Truck x VB => Taco Truck - the features not being mentioned on the streaming services Lol, this is so gloriously messy, I'm living for this era. Now, release a MV, mama.
  8. I think it probably has to do with Lana's vocals on Kintsugi. She must be whispering and/or using her low voice during the entirety of the track. It kinda sounds like it could be experimental/not everyone's cup of tea, which is far more intriguing to me than expecting to get yet another "good but simple" ballad. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that it *is* the automatic singing/writing song that she and Antonoff wrote last April. What I really like is that, except for A&W and Grandfather which have been highlighted by both Kintsugi and BOZ, the insiders' takes on other tracks have been vastly different so far. For example, Kintsugi is definitely not a fan of the interludes, while BOZ really digs the Jon Batiste one and has started appreciating the weirdness of the Judah Smith one, too. On the other hand, Kintsugi thinks that Kintsugi is, like, the best thing Lana has ever done, while BOZ says it's too sparse/lullaby-esque/bare. And Kintsugi likes Margaret a lot, while BOZ kinda dismisses it (mostly because of Jack's vocals, lmao). This means that there truly *is* something for everyone on this album. And I definitely prefer this kind of reaction to the ones we usually get when everyone agrees on certain songs being the standouts, while the rest of them are shrugged off as "fillers"/not as good. The reactions on release day should be fun!
  9. A summary of the info and subjective takes of the insiders on the album's tracks: 01. The Grants (4:57) 03. Sweet (3:35) 04. A&W (7:13) 05. Judah Smith Interlude (4:36) 06. Candy Necklace (5:14) 07. Jon Batiste Interlude (3:33) 08. Kintsugi (6:18) 09. Fingertips (5:48) 10. Paris, Texas (3:26) 11. Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep-sea fishing (4:00) 12. Let the Light In (4:38) 13. Margaret (5:39) 14. Fishtail (4:02) 15. Peppers (4:08) 16. Taco Truck x VB (5:53)
  10. It sounds quite interesting to me, very Violet Bent Backwards-esque. It must be the « magic moment » song that Antonoff mentioned last year. Has there ever been a +6-minute Lana song that hasn’t been a serve so far? Kintsugi and Fingetips the automatic singing one-two punch.
  11. 100%. btw, Side B is 25 minutes long, lol, so there must have been a typo on the tracklist that Lana posted (unless she’s trimmed the length of the interludes) and Fingertips must be on Side C.

    Miley Cyrus

It's cute and it'll probably be a grower, but as a "comeback single" it's extremely underwhelming. I'm surprised that Miley is playing it safe this time around. It's not bad, just uninspired. It's the opening track of the album btw (13 tracks in total).
  13. I have no idea what to expect from this track, lol. I think that Kintsugi's vague description of it barely scratches the surface, because BOZ said that it's something unprecedented for both Lana and Jack, so I highly doubt that its alleged experimental approach consists of adding...slutty trap beats to an otherwise acoustic track. There must be much more to it than this.
  14. I think he means that some songs may be too personal/potentially controversial (BOZ said that we should press play with an open mind and without prejudice) or simply that she could have changed her mind for the umpteenth time given how impulsive and random she is (like changing all the titles of the tracks to weirder ones), lol.
  15. Yes, but Tunnel seems to be the first album title that captures - and directly alludes to - the supposedly "confessional" tone of her latest work. The insiders sound genuinely enthusiastic and passionate about the lyricism and the new grounds/adventurous soundscape of the album, so I'm being optimistic.
  16. Given that LDR9 is supposed to be her most confessional album to date, the album title makes a lot of sense. I think it's her most mysterious and slippery title to date, actually. Chemtrails Over The Country Club and Lust for Life are the only album titles that I don't particularly like (as album titles!), because they somehow fail to intrigue me.
  17. Weird/ugly titles for an allegedly adventurous, wild and chaotic album? I'm here for it. Grandfather deep frying fish is coming for blood.
  18. When Lana decides to change the titles again, and we end up with different titles on the physicals vs. the streaming services...
  19. LMAO BOZ: atp EVERY song on the album, more or less, had different title before the one that ended up on the tracklist
