  1. you're right, her albums don't tend to have even a couple duds
  2. as someone who loves her old a capella laptop demos, i'd eat this up
  3. in 2019 lana did gush about how jack could play the sitar but she's yet to incorporate it into her music so maybe she will this time!
  4. technically isn't every upcoming lana album filled with unreleased tracks since none of them have been released yet?
  5. honestly i don't even see it as accurate to those 3 albums plus since uv to bb the last few tracks of every album have been the most mellow and i wouldn't say her albums just keep getting more and more mellow. and every album has its own unique sound & production style (yes even her last few albums) where all the aongs including the last few match the album its on more than any othwr album.
  6. i know people always say that last few tracks her albums hint at what her next album will sound like but i've never seen that as the case. i'd say it'd make more sense to look at the last recorded songs for each album but they won't even show us a full picture, just a look at maybe what the first few recorded songs for the next album could sound like in their early demo form. the last songs lana recorded for ocean blvd i think were candy necklace and margaret. so i wouldn't be surprised if we got a couple more tracks with jon batiste but he's pretty versatile so who even knows what the other songs they made together could sound like. they could be nothing like candy necklace. and i could see maybe some of her jack tracks having a similar vibe to margaret in their early stages but at the same time she wrote that song as a gift to jack & margaret so it could be a one off like those couple of country songs she & jack wrote during the norman sessions. so i'd say overall idk what to expect from lana for her next record.
  7. if we get any collabs i'm still praying for a joan baez collab! joan baez is so versatile like she's done folk, gospel, country, latin music, baroque pop, etc which leaves open so many possibilities for an interesting song between lana & joan
  8. idk about on lanaboards, but on other social media fans have been complaining about wanting "classic lana" back since uv. ultraviolence was too raw and not pop enough but then honeymoon was too boring and slow and not edgy anymore but then lust for life was too pop and too happy and not authentic enough but then norman wasn't cinematic enough and too unpolished but then chemtrails was too boring and simple and conventional but then blue banisters was too all over the place and unpolished and the songs were written too much like poems. and ever since uv fans claim every new album is the one where she's trying to hard to please the critics. its become super predictable
  9. i think so that we can't be biased and don't know what to expect lana should just work with some unknown producers who have only worked on obscure underground records that had limited releases and aren't on streaming services
  10. when she gives us an album full of raw laptop demos
  11. exactly. look already how everyone hated blue banisters and suddenly had good things to say about jack... til he came back for ocean blvd despite them at the same time praising the production on a&w... and i remember back during the lust for life era when everyone was over rick but wanted him back as soon as he was gone. some lana fans just want what they can't have and never appreciate her albums or producers til she's moved on to another one
  12. i do have a soft spot for rick. as a stevie nicks fan, its hard not to. also he and lana really did create magic. when lana first got famous, he made her dreamiest music. and especially back then compared to the repetitiveness of emile haynie's production, rick especially stood out. then honwymoon was a complete masterpiece. and while i think more highly of lust for life than a lot of other fans, i will admit some of his production on some songs wasn't as magical as it was before. but do i think he's completely lost his magic? no! i would love to see him return and the songs he & lana make together will always feel nostalgic to longtime fans. but do i want an album produced just by rick again? not really. honeymoon was somwthing special and thwy'll nevwr recreate that magic and trying to would just leave a bitter taste in most fans' mouths. but would i like an album produced half by rick and half by jack with maybe a few songs thwy worked on together? yes please! imo rick and jack create the most magic with lana and its probably in how she gets along with them as well as the talent they each have. i'd of course love to see more zach and drew and jon batiste and some fresh new producers, but i think a jack/rick outing would be a classic. i know some fans here love rick and hate jack or vice versa but i truly think they are the quintessential lana producwrs at this point.
  13. personally no. aka was already ldr1 and i'd see an unreleased collection similar to paradise & violet in the sense that it is an official release but not in the proper album line up, just an extra
  14. yeah i feel like her discography is just a series of these trilogies. not exactly sound-wise, but thematically ans the kind of energy behind them. first we had aka-btd-uv then hm-lfl-nfr and now we're just finishing up cotcc-bb-dykttatuob so yeah i agree that now i think we're onto something new with the next record.
  15. chemtrails was a lot more accoustic guitar than piano ballads
  16. i wouldn't mind something soft & sunny where you can see waves rolling in & out of your mind. something dreamy & surfy, maybe with little hints of psychedelia & country & some soft beats in there too. anyone else feeling this vibe?
  17. catholic psychedelic synth folk of course that or hawaiian glam metal
  18. what if lana has come full circle and the album is produced by david kahne
  19. technically the entire album is unreleased and unleaked tho
  20. no matter who produces lana, she makes lana music. i don't think who produces a song mattwrs that much bc lana is in the drivers seat and won't let a producer change her vision these days. that being said, i'd love for her to work morw with jon batiste bc i feel like candy necklace and the interlude really felt like lightning striking and thwy work well together and his piano skills are crazy intense and i like the jazzy vibe he brings to the table. but i'd also like to see her work with zach dawes more bc he always brings this rough southern folk rock energy to the songs they've done together and i'd love an album with a lot more of that. also i'd be thrilled for more jack and rick. they've both more than proved themselves as worthy producers for lana who we know listen to her and understand her vision and i wouldn't mind a full album of half jack and half rick. and obviously i'm supportive of her working with any new producers too. as i've said at the end of the day it doesn't really matter who produces lana and as we see time and again is that thw music lana chooses to make has nothing to do with who produces her. i trust lana's vision no matter what it is.
