  1. first cassette: spice girls - spice first cd: beach boys - 20 good vibrations first record: blondie - parallel lines and i've never bought digital music bc its a scam
  2. my vinyl hasn't moved in 2 weeks and i'm getting worried. it was moving quite quickly til it got to the global shipping centre then tracking stopped. i'm really concerned bc i got other records that passed thru there more recently so idk why it got held up.
  3. that's fine but the album is still complete before the bonus tracks. yeah some artists do consider the seluxe versions the complete album but for lana specifically, she has even stated her albums end with the final standard track.
  4. they were released as bonus tracks. as in extra. as in not apart of the proper album. is this a new concept for you people? standard editions of albums are complete. bonus tracks are just extra songs that didn't make the cut that are released to boost sales.
  5. that would be like saying when artists release 25th anniversary super deluxe albums with an entire concert attached that its now part of the album. anything past the standard album closer is just bonus and not apart of the album. thats why thwyre called "bonus tracks".
  6. the idea/goal is what the album is. and we know her label wanted her to release deluxe versions of her albums to increase sales but she didn't like the idea of deluxe abums bc it messed with the albums concept. and she chose the songs bc she likes them, not bc she saw them as apart of the album. like deluxe tracks are still part of the eras even if thwy're not properly part of the albums. you can argue all day that she secretly sees them as apart of the albums but she said they're not so there's nothing more to it.
  7. there's likely a demo called white hot forever that has the "white hot forever" parts of tulsa jesus freak that was reworked into the latter after meeting sean but we have no indication that there's an early version of not all who wander are lost that was also reworked after meeting sean. it is possible, i'm not denying that, but we have nothing to go off of except somwthing an "insider" said and i take everything thwy say with a grain of salt since half the timw they contradict what lana and her collaborators say. personally the only cotcc songs that were likely put together in their current form during the nfr sessions are let me love you like a woman, wild at heart & dark but just a game. but i do think its possible some hooks and choruses of other songs were worked on during the norman sessions but weren't fully formed til during/after the norman tour which begs the question: how much of a song has to be put together for it to be considered an actual outtake and not just a concept?
  8. but where did he say not all who wander are lost was specifically one of the quieter songs they worked on during the norman sessions? while some songs from chemtrails seemed to come from the norman sessions, clearly the whole album wasn't written then and not all who wander are lost lyrically seems like something she wrote later about her relationship with sean unless there's a demo from those sessions that has completely different lyrics.
  9. are we positive not all who wander are lost is from the nfr sessions? bc lyrically it sounds like she wrote it after nfr. she mentions the midwest and a christian man which both seem to reference her relationship with sean which didn't start til after norman was released. is there an early demo with completely different lyrics in the verses? i feel like that would be the only way it would be possible for it to be from the nfr sessions unless she's clairvoyant
  10. idk if this is an unpopular opinion but i always thought the trailer suited the album quite well. i don't think there was ever truly an original "witchy" version of the album. yeah the album went thru lots of thematic and sonic changes but i feel like the trailer represented the album as it came to be. as you mwntioned, the collabs were already hinted at and the monologue did correspond to the album perfectly. and the aesthetic of the trailer just seemed like a stylistic choice that didn't have to be a straightforward representation of the album but then it also did have a bit of that mix of futuristic and retro that the album does have. and like her being a witch or otherworldly spirit living in the hollywood sign watching over everyone in a mystical but motherly manner kind of does work into the album's perspective as a whole.
  11. this is what ruins it for the rest of the fans. for wveryone else's sake, i hope everyone who wants one gets one
  12. how many was pressed for the original urban outfitters batch? was it more or less than the repressing?
  13. i wonder if the discs will be exactly the same colours as last time since different pressings of records sometimes comw out a little different. i also wondwr if the discs will be the same flimsy quality or if thwy'll be thicker bc lana hasn't released flimsy records in awhile now. these questions make me wonder if i should order one but thwn does any of that matter anyway? i have one from the original batch and i'm happy with it and i know it constantly getting sold out is the only reason my brains wanta me to order another
  14. as long as i can play them, they'll never be worthless to me. they're still special souvenirs from a certain moment in time and i can feel happy about it whenever i play any of lana's exclusive records. it was cool having somwthing rare but i didn't buy thw records bc i thought they'd be rare so in the end it doesn't matter if the whole world has a copy. it won't affect my enjoyment.
  15. its just a dent in the sleeve, so unless youre planning on selling it, its perfectly fine plus its the original pressing so that'll always be best. but i really wouldn't worry about the dent. it doesn't affect the record inside and half the records i buy show up like that. and idk why you'd be considered a "local" for not keeping a record in mint condition. records are meant to be enjoyed and that includes getting bent up somwtimes.
  16. people on twitter like to lie for attention bc they didn't get hugged enough as children
  17. i think i like all her released songs. some i obviously likw way more than others and there's some i need some time with for them to grow on me but when listening to any of her albums there's no songs i dread hearing and i usually will sing along to every song depending on my mood. i rarely listen to her non-album singles but i still like those too as far as i can remember. there are a few songs she was featured on by other artists that i don't care for and never listen to but i don't really count those as her songs anyway. and as far as i remember there's only one unreleased song of hers i really dislike and can't tolerate hearing (match made in heaven)
  18. for the sake of everyone who didn't get these exclusive vinyls when they were available, i hope they all do get repressed. limited releases just fuel scalpers and its the actual fans who often miss out so itd be nice for evwryone to get a chance to own them.
  19. do i order one just in case there's a gatefold or the sound quality is better than the old one or the colours look sightly different or do i just be happy that i have one of the original ones from 2014?
  20. everyone keeps questioning why she's taking a picture of the cake if she's not gonna post it on social media but like maybe she wants to text/email it to someone or maybe she just wants the memory on her phone or maybe she gets pictures printed for physical photo albums or to frame. like i take hundreds of pictures but i don't post any on social media.
  21. but that's literally what lana wanted.... and she seems quite happy with the result. are you saying she shouldn't be allowed creative control over her art bc she makes her songs "stripped down and boring"? this is less about jack and more about lana's artistic direction. is there a different producer you think would've reworked it better without going against lana's artistic vision for it?
  22. yeah because lana told him to obviously? its not like he maliciously took the song and made lana change thw lyrics and tone the instrumental down. its not the first time the final version of one of her songs is drastically different from the demo. who are we gonna blame for changing beautiful people beautiful problems? rick nowels?
