  1. i know its most likely to just be a standalone single but i would die for her to finally release an unreleased compilation! my delusional side is telling me that'a why so many songs leaked recently including more finished versions of ones we already knew but i know in my heart that thats not the case. but a girl can dream! but if she does release this song and it does well, i hope she's more open to actually following thru with releasing an unreleased compilation in the future.
  2. even listening closely with my good headphones, i still can't hear "i took a train to spain" i swear its "i took a train this way"
  3. candy necklace references "can i kick it" by tribe called quest, kintsugi references "froggy went a-courtin'", fishtail references "so rare" by ella fitzgerald. then of course you could include the original venice bitch at the end since its kind of sampled...
  4. yeah i hate when i get a lana album and she just keeps singing throughout it
  5. https://www.amazon.com/Fasmov-Clear-Plastic-Cassette-Storage/dp/B07RB4145F/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=31A2XD3YTL9WJ&keywords=cassette+cases&qid=1680527216&sprefix=cassette+cases%2Caps%2C471&sr=8-3
  6. i don't buy into the theory that the final songs on her albums foreshadow the sound of the next one but i do think an album with the fun surfy with beats vibes of peppers and taco truck x vb would be fun. maybe even some mellow surfy songs in the mix too like the instrumentals of quiet waiter blue forever and patent leather do-over. do i personally think that's the sound of the next record? idk its hars to predict with lana. the last song she recorded for the album was margaret so that could be closer to where she is musically, but i also feel like it could just be a one off since she wrote that as a gift to jack & margaret. she seems to really love candy necklace tho which was the last added so i feel like there's a possibility she could be heading in that direction and work more with jon batiste and finally give us her jazz album.
  7. i haven't recieved mine from banquet yet either but i'm not worried yet bc usually when i order records from england it takes 3-4 weeks to get to me and i hate not having tracking bc i like to obsessively check where my package is but i'm trying to be patient since we know banquet did send out a bunch of packages the day of their listening party. but if its not here by the 21st, i'll start to worry.
  8. lana del rey x jim morrison i actually think their music and writing styles would vibe super well, but he's dead so i don't think it's likely to ever happen
  9. back when i still kept unreleased music on my computer, i just had them in one big unreleased collection in alphabetical order bc i'm lazy
  10. i'd like to think lana's too much of a free-thinker to do that. i feel like she's more likely to over-explain herself on her instagram after releasing the video to make sure people know she's not trying to exploit the poor girl's death and then inevitably get her words twisted and have to continue to explain herself and get upset that people are continuing to misunderstand her. but i can't think of any times she's scrapped an idea specifically bc people might get the wrong idea. of she scraps it, it'll be bc she changed her mind or just wasn't happy with the end result
  11. ocean blvd does seem to dig deepest into her life but i feel like violet + blue banisters + ocean blvd altogether give you all you need to know to understand her life story. after listening to all 3 of those records, its hard to not get it.
  12. why can she not be both sweet and a whore? and i feel like a&w has a bit of disillusionment that comes from realizing someone doesn't see you as a life partnwr but just as a body to use which makes it following sweet make perfect sense
  13. i hope i'm not overstepping here but i definitely feel like a man (especially straight man) having an issue with the qftc is a red flag. strikes me as one of those performative "feminist" guys who actually hate women but can only take it out on women whose opinions differ from thr appeoved narrative. but i don't know him, so i could be wrong. hopefully he comes around to the album and maybe it'll help him understand where lana is coming from.
  14. i went to customer service on the site then clicked on my order and i eventually got to an option that said "need more help" then clicked "start chatting now" and i kept clicking the answers til they gave me the option to talk to someone then i told them my problem and asked what they can do to help me. tbh i had a hard time finding where to complain but i hope that helps.
  15. they have me the choice between getting it refunded onto an amazon gift card or back onto my husband's credit card and i chose the latter. i'm sure he'll be thrilled to have the money back on his card
  16. so i complained to amazon about the vinyl colour and at first they offered me $5 off my next order and i was like no that's not acceptable so they gave me a full refund! the best part is i don't even dislike the colour of the vinyl sometimes it pays to be a karen
  17. after sitting in the post office for 3 days, my amazon vinyl finally arrived! they just left it in a giant pile of snow tho like dude my door is unlocked, put it inside! its so pretty tho and even the discs aren't as dark as the pictures other people posted made it look like. definitely purple but very soft! even my camera can't capture it perfectly. but its nice. i'm so glad i got this variant. i can't wait to play it!
  18. am i the only one who kinda gets revolution 9 vibes from the jon batiste interlude?
  19. my amazon vinyl has been in my town since wednesday and its still not out for delivwry today like whats taking so long!!!???
  20. at first i felt the last 3 songs felt awkwardly tacked on at the end despite me loving the songs then i felt maybe the issue is that fishtail should've been placed elsewhere in the tracklist since sonically and thematically it feels out of place where it is but then the more i listened to the album the more i feel like every track is placed exactly where they're supposed to be. its like with both nfr & bb i originally felt like sonically and thematically some of the songs could've been rearranged but i got used to it and can't imagine the songs in any other order. lana clearly arranged the tracklists very intentionally even if we don't understand it right away.
  21. i'm not surprised fantano gave the album a positive review, he's been giving lana generally positive reviews since honeymoon but i am surprised he rated the album so highly and had so few criticisms of it. he even rated it higher than norman which he kept referring to as her best! disappointing tho that he still won't reassess her early work under a new lense but we can't wxpect him to love all hwr albums (even lots of her fans have albums of hera thwy don't like). but i feel like he secretly likes lana more than he's willing to admit, especially since we've seen in previous videos that he seems to know all the lore around her unreleased tracks which most casual fans don't even know about. but anyway, i'm glad he enjoyed the album and i hope his misogynistic fans are seething lol
