  1. lucky for me i don't really know who mike dean is outside of that song so i had no expectations and was just happy with what we got. but like its so lana for her to get producers that make othwr kinds of music and just have them make piano ballads for her (like with jack)
  2. honestly if the new album had say yes to heaven & fine china and maybe a few other unreleased like i talk to jesus but was mostly newly recorded stuff i wouldn't be mad. but then i'm in the minority who actually enjoyed blue banisters and thought the leaked songs fit into the album nicely.
  3. i got it from urban outfitters in 2018 and its closer to the second one but its actually a little more opaque than that but that couls just be the lighting. but then who knows what this one will look like bc it could be pressed somewhere different and come out looking like neither of us
  4. there is an unofficial blue paradise vinyl that's surprisingly good quality (imo even better than the official paradise vinyl) but i'm still hoping for a white or gold variant eventually. actually a 3lp born to die: the paradise edition boxset with red white n blue vinyls would be iconic. i hope she does that eventually.
  5. jan 4 - aka official vinyl release on both black & coloured vinyl
  6. very sad to hear he's gone. at least he lived a nice long life tho. he was probably the last classic jazz crooner left so its like the end of an era.
  7. yeah i dont care for the tiled cover which is why i nwver got it to begin with but its also what makes me want it now bc its something different
  8. yeah both would be best for everyone and i'm gonna hope for that but if it was one or the othwr, i'd want it to be the neon green bc i'm selfish
  9. if lust for life come bottle clear is going up today i bet she's rereleasing alt cover honwymoon on its anniversary too.... i have both of these already but i hope for everyone else's sake she does. i like the idea of making these available for everyone and screwing over flippers. if she does norman too i hope she releases thw neon green and not the pink bc i have the pink but i could always add the green to my collection
  10. rereleasing it wouldn't necessarily mean she's reworking/rerecording it. she'd most likely just rerelease it as is since she does have thw rights to it and i imagine she wouldn't want to go thru the trouble of rerecording it either.
  11. wait so this isn't the next spoken word poetry album? how disappointing
  12. aka rerelease is what i want most but i'd also be happy with an unreleased collection. and of course a new album (especially a poetry album) would make me excited too. i don't care for a tour bc she never comes near where i live anyway.
  13. its terrifying that lana has fans who are young enough to be my children.... but i guess that's normal with highly talented and influential artists. it just makes me feel old!
  14. i think you're thinking of "the holy of the holies" which wasn't a temple but a place within the temple of jerusalem where the ark of the covenant was kept but she's definitely saying "houses" in the song but i do like the imagery and religious metaphor of the way you heard it and kinda wish now that that's what she was saying
  15. she's saying "to The Houses of the Holy" which is a led zeppelin album

i don't get the "blinded by nostalgia" accusations as if the whole rerecording endeavour doesn't rely solely on people being nostalgic for these albums/eras. and i think people prefering the originals has less to do with nostalgia and mroe to do with lightening only striking once. like these songs & albums were already perfect as they were and by trying to improve the vocals or production or even the narrative around the albums, its like revisionist history. i mean, i am enjoying the rerecordings especially the vault tracks, but i'm not gonna fool myself into pretending the rerecordings are just as good or better than the originals.

i don't get how thw line is even considered "slut shaming" like yeah she's implying this chick sleeps around but she's not shaming her for it. she's shaming her for stealing her boyfriend and being an overall bad person. you could argue that mentioning she sleeps around isn't relevant or necessary but you could say that about any details she gives about anything in any of her songs. and if taylor had a line about a guy sleeping around, no one would care at all. just another thing the younger generation blew out of proportion and made taylor feel guilty for.
  18. lana should honestly cover the entire show boat soundtrack

idk if this is an unpopular opinion but i actually like that the songs on speak now tv sound more different than the originals than they did with fearless tv & red tv. like the taylor's versions were never gonna replace the originals so by her singing them a little differently and having slightly different production instead of trying to replicate it perfectly, it now compliments the original instead of trying to be it. like with fearless tv she tried to replicate it perfectly just with more grown up vocals then with red tv she seemed to try to replicate it without actually putting in the effort so this is definitely more enjoyable since she seems to be letting it be its own thing. i haven't gotten to the vault tracks yet but when it comes to the regular album tracks this one is my favourite. i'd like to see if the vault tracks can compare to the red ones at all which were top tier. overall tho i'm getting the vibe that the rerecordings are less about replacing the originals and more about putting these albums in a different light. especially since she often got a lot of hate for her confessional songwriting and whoevwr shebwas dating overshadowed the albums with the general public and she also got written off for being so young or making her music "too pop to be country" or "too country to be pop" (just couldn't win, could she?) so it feels like between the vault aongs and just the albums being revisited and temade while she's older, she's kind of trying to give thwm a second chance with the public, idk.

lets be honest, for regular fans, the only pull to her rerecordings are the vault tracks. i hate that she changed that lyric but i was always gonna listen to the original album most of the time anyway just like i do with fearless and red. i'm happy for her getting to own her masters, but these aren't the versions i have memories with and i don't think its "disrespectful" to listen to the originals (she still makes money from them!)
  21. wasnt the album finished recording late 2008 and mastered early 2009 then released at the very beginning of 2010? that means it was only "shelved" for just under a year.
  22. i love all her opening tracks so its incredibly difficult to rank but heres my best attempt: honeymoon white dress kill kill norman f**king rockwell cruel world born to die text book love the grants
  23. tbh i nwver really understood people saying aka is so jarringly different from btd. like yeah they have fairly different production but the writing style and themes always seemed quite similar to me. like the differences between thwm feels equivalent to the differences between uv and hm. and i feel like honestly aka is more similar to her discography overall than btd is so its always been weird to me that fans act like she artistically wasn't the lana we know and love yet. the only logical reason i can think of to why its not vwry popular with lots of fans especially new fans is bc its so hard to find/access. like either they don't have a lot of experience listening to it so they haven't had time to fall in love with it or even they use it "not being good" or being "too problematic" as an excuse for not listening to it instead of admitting to themselves that its just too much work to find it. like i truly find it one of her best albums but i feel that way about most artists' debuts. its the clearest image of her as a regular person and has the most relatability to the average person. like yeah she's improved artistically and as a songwriter so much over the years but theres something so special about this album and i hope she does rerelease it someday (it took both david bowie and elton john a few decades to rerelease their out of print debut albums so lana still has plenty of time). i'm at least glad lana has started acknowledging it as her debut again bc its too good to ignore.
  24. off topic but damn i need that sweatshirt
