  1. Same thing happened with "Black Beauty". They kept the audio/vocal takes produced by Rick, and Dan/Paul worked only on the instrumentals!
  2. @BlackoutZone any updates on the Yes to Heaven/Fine China/Your Girl essay? 👀
  3. I personally believe that by officially releasing the song, it would be a nice way to give this song its deserved happy ending. People would be able to freely stream the song officially (especially now, given its random TikTok popularity among the GP). Now, the thing is, if the song ever finds a home, it'll start another endless chapter/discussion on the "(Say) Yes to Heaven" Discourse: "Will fans by satisfied with the 'final/officially released' version?". They probably won't, so this song will probably always be talked about in years to come 💀
  4. "EYEYE [Side B] — EP"? with the outtakes? considering she said she doesn't care about streams I can see it happening!
  5. speaking on the topic. Are the lyrics on Spotify reliable?
  6. Truly unpopular opinion: I really LOVE Arcadia . The melody of the chorus made me cry the first time I listened to it, but then again, I'm a sensitive-as-hell cancer dude.
  7. very true. She probably doesn't. She would've capitalized on the 'Queen of Disaster' thing a year a go. Oh well. Tbh I personally don't care bout the sales, I stan a bunch of artists labelled as nobodies by the media. But the meltdowns of some stans on social media are a bit concerning.
  8. if Lana's team doesn't make the most of this 'Dealer' being viral thing, I'm guessing they purposefully want her to fall. Now, another question for the culture — Is truly her label to blame? Are her managers? Is it her?
  9. I'm interested! You should try to explain your choices. They were very similar to mine. •Born to Die/Paradise — Arcadia. •Ultraviolence — Dealer, Nectar of the Gods, Living Legend. •Honeymoon — Text Book. •Lust for Life — Interlude - The Trio. •Norman Fucking Rockwell! — Beautiful, Violets for Roses, Sweet Carolina. •Chemtrails Over the Country Club — Blue Banisters, Thunder. -Even when 'If You Lie Down With Me' and 'Cherry Blossom' are from the Ultraviolence era, they don't sound like they fit in as nicely. -'Black Bathing Suit' could find its way into Chemtrails if the album wasn't as tame as it is, imo. -I couldn't put 'Wildflower Wildfire' on any album, which in my opinion is a good indicator, it's different.

  11. Agreed. The problem is that certain people rely on other people's opinions to make their own
  12. Question for the culture: Is the album doing as bad as you're all saying, or is it a joke?
  13. Don't get me wrong. I'm talking about Lana's desire to pursue her vision, not saying people should force to like whatever she does, because that's being biased.
  14. Not that anyone particularly cares but here's my review of the album. After multiple unsuccessful attempts of finding the album in good quality when it leaked, I interpreted my lack of luck as a sign; I had to wait until yesterday. I did listened to a couple of tracks, though. The record: The album is stunning. I don't think it's fair to compare it to 'Chemtrails Over the Country Club', because notwithstanding the sonic similarities they're two different records. Having said that, and speaking from my personal perspective and taste, I personally prefer it mainly because 'Chemtrails' felt a little too much like an afterthought of 'Norman Fucking Rockwell!'. Lana knew 'Norman' was adored, so she naturally played safer by staying close to the sound. With 'Blue Banisters' I feel like she's daring to be more visceral, rawer and weirder, as she naturally is. If you look at the lyrics you can see how her poetry has influenced her writing process, some songs are straight up 'stream of consciousness', even 'free verse'-like (like the title track, 'Wildflower Wildfire' and 'Black Bathing Suit'). I'm absolutely here for it. The sound: Now that Jack is gone it's pretty clear that Lana is the one whose vision involves a minimalistic aproach when it comes to the music, and we should get used to it. She's in a quieter headspace than when she was younger and that's part of growing up. She's less ambitious than who she was in the 'Born to Die' era, she feels more at peace than the chaos she felt during 'Ultraviolence', and she doesn't really care about playing it safe and try to cater to broader audiences. She'll probably never ditch the piano ballads as long as the outer sound is reflecting her inner vision. The crew: Drew Erickson, Zach Dawes et al are such a breath of fresh air. They brought a spark of new life to the Lana soundscape that was needed. I'm praying they're here to stay. I'm very familiar with Drew's previous work since he's a professionally trained arranger and composer. He's more of a Dan Heath's classically trained maestro than a one-trick-pony Jack Antonoff. The guy is amazing, and so is Zachary.
  15. 'Fine China' is indeed superior. Am I the only one here who prefers 'Beautiful' over 'Violets for Roses'?
  16. I've been asking the same question everywhere and I still have no clue
  17. I hope there's another video, but even if she really likes this record, I feel as if she's comfortable with this almost non-existent promotion + letting the music speak for itself kind of approach
  18. It's so weird that I predicted the fact that Barrie was behind 'Nectar of the Gods' and 'Living Legend'. But something about those songs sounds so '2013 Lana and Barrie era' to me.

    Lorde

The only problem with this album is that 'Melodrama' exists. Same thing that happened with 'Chemtrails' following a record as good as 'Norman'. I truly like 'Solar Power', tho. It's a good record. The bonus tracks should be on the standard album to shake the pace on the middle section a bit, in my opinion. Btw, the new translations give the songs a whole new range of layers about the meaning behind them. Love them.
  20. I was thinking that maybe Barrie had something to do with 'Nectar of the Gods', 'Cherry Blossom' or even 'Living Legend'. Taking into account the date of the tracks and that Fabrizio Argiolas worked on both of those tracks and Barrie was pictured in the studio with him and Lana. Perhaps we don't know the full credits of those songs (?). Just speculation anyway.
  21. Dean Reid, Zach Dawes, Drew Erickson and Benji Lysaght (in the order of where they are in the pic).

    The Greatest

Holy crap, they do have a similar vibe! Definitely not a 'Creep' situation, though.
  23. Obsessed with the album lately. I agree with everyone saying the single choices were completely strange. I like 'NDA', but as a single is... a choice. 'Lost Cause' was definitely not single material in my opinion.
