I actually wanted to add onto this. I actually had been listening to Taylor Swift since 2009 and bought all her CDs and some merch until about 2013 when I got more into Lana and haven't really kept up. These past few weeks I have been paying attention to all the TS news since she announced Midnights and the whole thing seems... uncomfy to me. The whole idea of selling four of the exact same vinyl, an INSANE amount of merch, a few weeks later followed by an entire second round of holiday merch, the release of a million different remixes some of which you have to purchase, etc. The whole setup of Midnights has seemed like such an obvious money grab toward fans, especially younger fans, who absolutely adore her and will absolutely spend money they do not have just to support her, a multi-millionaire likely soon to be billionaire. Her silence regarding the entire ticket master fiasco, the fact that they didn't disable dynamic pricing, and not even to mention to fact that there are tickets being sold for over $100,000 right now online is extremely disappointing. The ticket master fiasco certainly is not all on Taylor but she hasn't issued any sort of apology or even at least attempted to console fans in any type of way who were literally bawling their eyes out online. The whole thing just gives me this yucky feeling and as somebody who once obsessed over her when I was younger and listened to her music religiously growing up it's really, really disappointing. At least from this side of things, I can tell she does like having special moments with fans and making them feel a part of her music but it just seems all kind've... orchestrated at this point. I still do enjoy Taylor's music and I really do think she has genuine passion for fans I just think her love of amassing a ridiculous amount of wealth off the backs of fans is not only disappointing but borderline disturbing. I'm honestly just glad to have a favorite artist like Lana who has never really been interested in making herself a product to put on display and sell to people. Especially with her ending the deluxe version after ultra, saying she was interested in a digital-only release not too long ago, etc. it's obviously Lana has no interest in tithing us for cash at every possible turn.

The way this thread has turned me into a internet historian in the past few hours. I am literally searching every crevice for lore that probably a handful of us find interesting but you know what I'm having fun doing it

Okay that was what I was guessing, it must've just been overlooked when version 2.0 of the forums came out 2 years ago. Tbf it isn't super important I was just always curious.

Also random lore question I had. So there are some descriptive categories where pronouns, location, etc. are located. I've noticed that some like "favorite Lana song" only some people have. Were those just addition info categories you could fill out before the forums switched to version 2 in 2020?

Also I honestly think one of the only people from that OG "what should we be called" thread who's still active and could maybe pinpoint where lipster originated would be @YUNGATA. Maybe one of the other long-term members or staff might recall as well.

@SoftwareUpgrade This is the first mention in that particular thread. I'm assuming the original commenter they were refering was banned or had the comment removed for different reasons. Also people were fucking MEAN online 10 years ago... like maybe I never realized it at the time but people were being downright NASTY at some points of this thread to each other omg. Edit: Also some of the problematic stuff people were saying with their WHOLE chest out.... whew 2012

This is one of the first mentions I can see. It's in this thread, the phrase lipster. Edit: OOF bad news, I think the first mention of it might actually be from Lanadelrey.FM so it's gonna be hard to pinpoint now that that particular site has been in the grave for a decade now.

Honestly one day if there are enough lore posts on here I feel like this thread could be an entire category under the "Lanaboards" Forum category. That way each piece of lore could have its own thread. Obviously not necessary right now but I feel like in the future that would be pretty cool and people could look for origins of specific phrases/situations way easier.

No literally that Scat lore was actually the best thing I've read in centuries. I would read a hunger-game-equivalent trilogy of the Lana Boards lore. It's crazy bc I discovered this site when I was 13 (2013) and would just check from time to time over the years for random Lizzy info when I was in my investigative era as well as leaks, etc. It's so interesting to not only kinda recall some of this stuff I remember when I wasn't even a member but just in general it's kinda fucking hilarious.
