It’s good but the snippet already spoiled the whole chorus and it’s exactly like the live performance with little to no changes so the hype is gone for me… Also at first I really enjoyed it (I still do) but after a while I think the original version fits better the album and thematically is more interesting Void, BOTL and Evil all sound very similar, the GarageBand instrumental, repetitive chorus and lackluster bridges… I like them but maybe not in the album (Evil is probably my fav)

and still she portraits them as this dumb stupid looking toddlers in Show & Tell I can’t do anything but laugh at that idea

Half of Crybaby alone, then Drama Club on K-12 (also outtakes like Gluestick, Eraser and Papercut are awesome) and then the MM3 sessions (Garden, Sirens, Needle &Thread, Tunnel Vision, Dragons Blood, Barely Juice…) They seem to get her more upbeat side and I’m here for that! With other producers the songs are cute but I noticed she tends to go a little too soft and slow… K&OL also seem to do really well in slower jams, for example the Happy Neon Ep or 301 to Paradise mixtape for Neon Hitch. Even their work with Madison Beer But I’m guessing she’s doing that to prevent future leaks and I can understand that

U spilled sis! I though a one producer thing was bad, but the thought of a self-produced album is crazy! She’s really talented and all but she clearly needs some supervision from professionals

Well, she uses excruciating long sentences with no punctuation marks and many of the things she says don’t make any sense! Feels like the instrumental is on its own and her singing on top belongs to another song cause there is no correlation between the two… like I said, it reminds me a little bit of Field Trips chorus but we shall see. The main difference is in Field Trip the instrumental at least had some changes while in Light Shower is the same plain guitar over and over again for 5 minutes. Of course after hearing it multiple times we’ll probably grow to enjoy it but that doesn’t mean it’s palatable on first listen… I’m surprised to say this but this may be worse than Spider Web even… at least the verses there are good The fact that this is part of 3 really slow songs in the album already, doesn’t help either

The thing is… at this point we all know Melanies best work is with K&OL but… everything she does with them gets leaked, first Drama Club before release and then the whole Hawaii fiasco for MM3… I mean, even if they work so good together I can understand why she may choose other producers from now on! Must be very frustrating to get ur stuff leaked so early every single time! Or they either get their shit together and better their security or we are in for other one producer projects like K-12 and After School with Michael Keenan (severe PTSD)

I remember hearing this back in the day! Wish it gets leaked It gives me Talk To Me, Fallen Angel and Tear Me Open vibes… like early indie Slayyyter and I’m here for it Such a shame her new record doesn’t seem to explore those sounds ps: We also need Swimming Pool reworked ASAP (she teased a bit and it sounded sooo good)

from what I know all the leaks from MM3 where K&OL! That’s why most of them have this trap beats still (I really like them) also the outtakes from K-12 we have so far are also produced by K&OL (Gluestick, Papercuts and Eraser) and they are far superior to anything else in the album… sooo… choices I guess I see a pattern

Also, I would like to add… just because with time we end up getting used to songs like “Light Shower” doesn’t mean the lyrics are good at all! After multiple listens you don’t mind the flow that much but it’s still bad Same with Field Trip, I can almost listen the whole song without cringing now, except for the “I'm the definition of dichotomy, duality Katarina in the womb for nine months 'til she birthed me” part! That won’t ever sound good or natural learning to tolerate it doesn’t take back from the fact that the writting in there is lazy and messy In a way is kind of forcing yourself to like it, while others are instantly catchy and well written (Tunnel Vision, Garden, Death, Void, N&T, Leeches, Evil, Dragons Blood, The Contortionist, Barely Juice)

Light Shower and BOTL being some of the ones she wrote by herself makes a ton of sense… the lyrics there are so ROUGH I can’t imagine someone else making them only Melanie can be that messy and give 0 fucks about musicality (speciality in Light Shower) Also J. Baran and Nick Long could have done something about the “penis” lyric instead of gaslighting us to think it’s something normal

im going by the length of the songs basically while Evil is listed as 4:06 minutes, Nymphology has 5:06 minutes so that’s why I think the rap is from the last one

I though it was part of Nymphology, fits that song a little more to me it gives mayor Electra Heart vibes for some reason
