Im surprised… if the leaked songs are included in the album why isn’t the copyright taking them down of YT?
-
this one and Cake, Seesaw, Eraser + Play Date hit hard the feelings…
-
Highkey almost 2 years now Melanie said… lemme make a metaphor about the clownery around
-
I enjoy some K-12 songs too, when it came out I replayed it a lot! but this track 6 is so bad in comparison… I don’t see the similarities
-
I have been returning to the track 6 snippet all day to see if it grows on me… … and it gets worse! With each listen I hate it more
-
been there! knowing Melanie my guess is Spiderweb, Itsi Bitzi Spider or something like that
-
Can she announce something already!? I’m bored of waiting
-
Garden hits different when u have been neglected/ghosted by a situationship… she really knew what she was doing when writting those lyrics! Speaking to the gays

Bangerz was pretty classic to me, even if I wasn’t so into her music around that time all the singles were really successful and career changing (Disney girl gone wild)… love her or hate her, it made an impact I agree about her potential and I think even with her status, she can be able to stay relevant after her 30s (Plastic Hearts was really good and she can still aim for other iconic eras in the future). She never really grabbed my attention until Midnight Sky (Mothers Daughter was a cute moment but nothing groundbreaking) the thing about Miley is that she doesn’t stick to one genre and isn’t afraid to explore! So far she has done pop, hip-hop, R&B, electro pop, rock, country, indie, … she may not always succeed but generally her singles perform well and maintains the public’s interest. I agree she’s hit or miss but that comes with experimental artist (for me another example is Madonna, who has covered every genre possible with various outcomes). Her career is very interesting and I think it will pass the test of time if she continues this dinamic! Her best efforts come from personal experiences and when she’s being herself (Midnight Sky and Angels Like You were great) but flops when she tries too hard to reach a hit (Prisoner…) Mildred has an old school vibe to her that I appreciate a lot! I would say with the last era she connected more with her older audience and is trying to reconnect with her younger fans with Flowers (a more generic/mainstream approach)… for me personally I Would have loved if she did 70s disco/rock next! After the Stand By You pride and New Years lives with those Cher and Madonna covers! She nails that vintage sound and performs like no other!
-
Something about Mildred is very magnetic… she’s getting better and more likeable with time! Also her lives… a true performer
-
I think that’s her forte! It’s what works on her favor but also what makes her music not consistent at the same time! The good thing is in every one of her albums there is at least one song u can resonate to
-
Labels need to understand viral moments can’t be faked! You need something original and actually good to resonate with the masses… or at least not push it down our throats! Unfortunately we are getting bombarded with mediocre songs like Made You Look instead of focusing on the quality… For example Vacation Bible School is a long ass song, with tons of sexual references, done by an underground artist (Ayesha Erotica) who left the industry years ago and it’s still all over TikTok (with no official releases or presence in streaming platforms). exactly my point, Play Date it’s an old song that still got big because it wasn’t even fabricated to go viral to start with

Copy Cat flashbacks

So true, chopping parts of songs to make them shorter and trying to push formulated song structures… so boring Nowadays pop songs sound more like interludes, not cute! But if the information we’ve got is correct, most of the songs teased are more than 4 minutes so I’m hopeful
-
For me probably her most cohesive proyect is Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Pets… then maybe Younger Now… but at this point it’s kind of her brand to release messy albums Maybe the EP sounded cohesive but the final product, judging by the outtakes, was all over the place (Victoria, Naked, Slide Away, Cold Blooded, American Dream). those songs are great in their own but don’t make much sense together
-
kind of… even if we didn’t have the leaks to compare still a horrible song but well, hopping the rest of the album slaps still! The Void kind of raised my expectations

River music video coming this Friday! The snippet from twitter sounds good so far

Also love how she sings the verses “I'm over here, baby Sitting across the room She's over there racing to try and get to you I'm over here crying out of laughter She's sitting there real cute Put that bitch on prescriptions if she think she fuckin' you“ “She a dead fish anyway You could do it straight, you could do it sideways But if we do it my way you'll be crying for your mommy I know how to ride forever, turn me upside down Put your hands around my throat, I'm 'bout to win the crown” it’s so funny yet catchy how she sings about riding some other chicks boyfriend! I live for slutty Melanie, she really has a thing for unavailable guys (Marina was already foreshadowing it with Homewrecker)
-
you are right, with her old approach it could have been a good social commentary, but after Orange Juice… I doubt it I mean… since it came out it has been very catchy to me… I didn’t get the hate it got I know the lyrics aren’t something special but come on… not everything has to be profound and transcendental
-
Maybe if she rewrote it and titled it Class Fight I could see that…
-
her angry break up songs are the best… also when shows that dark sarcastic humor like she does in Dear Porcupines or Rotten Milk! I would love to see more of that from her but I think she has left that far behind for the more… ethereal aproach
-
I will admit its not very a typical Melanie song, and the lyrics remind me a lot of Pacify Her but it’s too catchy! people saying it was a pitched song for Charli XCX which is a very strange thing
