Omg, immediately knew the photographer is Meisel when I saw the pics. He's always been one of my favorite photographers, so great he captured Lana now π I only hope there are more photos inside than only 3. The cover is so fantastic. She looks like a mixture of various Hollywood stars, including some Hitchcock ladies β€οΈ

Same here. Bought it in 2021 for 110 EUR and one of the art cards was actually signed... That price they ask for is really "tough" Btw, if they offered it for 50 EUR, it would sell out immediately and the scalpers would sell it for 150 on ebay etc. So somehow, the 150 EUR make sense. At least she's not feeding the scalpers, as it's too risky for them to buy and resell. Difference/income not big enough. π

To be honest, I hope she didn't release these fan favorites because there'll be a tension III. Tracks like running, original hello and Vegas baby wouldn't have fitted well into this record.
-
It's crazy, I prefer it over tension I because it's much more cohesive, but I can't say I really love a single song of it (except Midnight Ride, but I love that cause of Orville Peck, became a fan of him by it) π Saying that as a huge Kylie fan. Funny thing is that Tension would be my favorite album by her if it was compiled of padam, tension, story, running, Vegas baby, Vegas high and a few others. But not that crazy mix of tension I. That's what I like about it, but I think she let her best material unreleased still. Hoping for a tension III. Stars in our eyes sounds 100% like a golden track for me. Love it, but it's in my "Golden" Playlist. "More thaNn a feeling" is in my "Vegas high" Playlist, which is my own version of tension. "Hello" on tension II seems totally different from tje unreleased version. No idea which song that one familiar part of it is taken from.

Lana Del Rey & Water (Philosophical Research)
Olympia replied to Lana On The Silver Screen's topic in Lana Thoughts
If you search the Lana Fandom wiki for "water", you might find some information, too https://lanadelrey.fandom.com/wiki/Special:Search?query=Water&scope=internal I wonder if there are many scholars articles? I guess you might find information in interviews though. -
I really liked the question about items people want back. π Not sure we can take it as a sign for LASSO though.
-
Omg I think that could be awesome. Totally new version for sure I guess though I will love anything Dolly Parton related π
-
I'm wondering lots of people here wonder. You surely already heard of a "genie in a bottle" I guess? Most might also know the Aladdine movies!? That blue creature is called a genie (just various ways how to write on Latin letters), even though this kind of genie might be a bit different from the original meaning. But I guess the "insider" had indeed this wish-offering kind of genies in mind. I kept on repeating this but people don't listen/read π
-
A pity though we weren't allowed our 3 wishes. "Lasso now!" π That genie wasn't very omnipotent unfortunately. Btw, as I said before, no one knows "Henry come on" is a song title and not just a line from the lyrics, so even if the genie-jinn is right that no song of this name is listed, it doesn't mean the song you want has been scrapped. Might just have another title. And the genie heard only 3 songs, not all. (3 songs heard instead of offering three wishes...!? π€π )
-
Thanks, that's what I had in mind, too. So it could be a line only. So those believing in Jinns can still hope for Henry. π
-
Are we sure btw that "Henry, Come On" is a song title? Couldn't it be simply a line from the lyrics? ... Wouldn't a Dolly Parton collaboration be a "WTF moment"? π Might be at least for people who didn't see the pics of them together.

Does anyone know why the vinyl for Stampede is so extremely expensive? Does it come with a box or why?
-
Where did this info with July 30 come from btw? Did someone see it in the website code? Could be another random 7" picture disc, too, btw. Old unreleased track (was there something trending on TikTok recently?) on it or "country roads". Or a "tough" picture disc or cassette. ππ π

I sometimes think it would be helpful if we had two threads for the new album - one being a facts thread and one being a speculation and wishes thread. It's really hard to keep up, like, for example, suddenly there are 20 posts about greatest hits, so I read 2 pages of posts back to see what it is about (just to find out it was an idea). The answer to the question about why this thread is hot (Henry is coming) was a joke I guess? π Nice, but without a smiley hard to get without checking the last posts of 2 pages to see if there is indeed anything about it. To sum it up: Thing is you always see it's hot, you get excited, you even see posts talking about "news" which are actually either speculations, wishes or jokes, but you need to read between 2 to 20 pages to find out. It's disappointing (because it wasn't a fact) and it's getting tiring. Maybe two threads could be a solution? π

Lana Del Rey and Quavo βToughβ - OUT NOW!
Olympia replied to rocknrollgroupie's topic in New Releases
The vinyl for "say yes to heaven" was pretty crazy, too π π -
Looks like the vinyl mock up is wrong, it says "... Ativa" on the label
-
"Please note that each vinyl is unique and the colours may appear slightly different from the image displayed." Maybe it has a marble effect or something?
-
Many of these are my favorite songs by her! It's difficult to compare though - maybe you might enjoy "the American Recordings" by Johnny Cash? A few songs by Nick Cave got a similar vibe, too, but I'm not good remembering single songs by him. I quite like his albums "push the sky away" and "teenage ghost", but the instrumentation is not too folky there. Also Kylie Minogue's compilation album "Hits+" comes into my mind. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hits_%2B it includes songs from her album "impossible princess" and "Kylie Minogue", but also several outtakes which remind me a lot of these Lana songs you've mentioned. Also a duet with Nick Cave. Maybe also Ryan Bingham's current EP "watch out for the wolf".

Lana Del Rey and Quavo βToughβ - OUT NOW!
Olympia replied to rocknrollgroupie's topic in New Releases
"horrendous" means it is highly likely to be true π remember the BB picsart covers... Besides, the Neil Krug pics are not really HQ looking either usually. It's her style. -
I'm not, I really appreciate his work, no matter if working with Lana or not. To me, they are a great combination for good music. π I'm not really bothered by the silence. Especially as currently it's finally in fashion again to start pre-sales in time. Many preorders by big artists start 1 or 2 months before release date, with lead single or not, so there's still time, even for a September release.
-
Had to get that amazing golden Bronco RSD vinyl. Can't wait for the post, lol. Btw, for those who like his voice and music style - listening to him I feel reminded of one of my favorite singers, Danny Vera. He's also got that Cash-Presley mixture of sound, but with more retro vibes β€οΈ

"the vinyl" sounds very optimistic. I guess there will be 5 colors at least π and each will probably cost USD 55.
-
Very true. I also have to say that I really like her voice and it's a unique voice, too. For the kind of music she's doing it's pretty perfect. I've seen her live in concert, too, (in 2013 I think) and was really impressed. Besides her photo shoots are always a pleasure to see. Always classy and beautiful, even when beauty and classical esthetics are not in fashion.
-
I'm sure she's going to make that genre her own. She always does, doesn't she? And she's not too far away from country in previous work, so I don't think that's something to worry about. She's surely not going to do something like Cowboy Carter π Personally I'd prefer she releases her next album not too soon. Vinyl prices are crazy. Current double vinyls start at EUR 50 /USD 55!? We'll get poor if she drops many variants π¬ maybe we're lucky and vinyl prices drop again... Not that I'm optimistic about it, but I can hardly see them rising anymore.
