This is true, but Lawrence Krauss can be very condescending toward believers and doesn't really attempt to hide that he thinks they're kind of stupid, so that's why I'm surprised that Lana would connect to him and his work.

I've always assumed from some of her past quotes and a lot of her lyrics that she believes in God, but the lectures she's been promoting on the Honeymoon hotline have strong atheist undertones. The book A Universe from Nothing and the lecture by Lawrence Krauss are basically all about how the universe was naturally able to create itself out of nothing, and that no divine power or god was needed for it. He talks about religion and the flawed thinking behind a higher power in his lecture and he's also an atheist activist. I just thought it was interesting that Lana would recommend these things to her fans, because I've always seen her as a believer. Like even though she could just be interested in the science of it, the reason behind the research has a political bent to it and the lectures themselves don't shy away from criticizing the idea of a god.

I don't like Shades of Cool, and the video is just ok.

In a way, I think it's good for her because fame made her miserable. At the same time, I think she loves fame and will start to miss it once she sees that interest in her is fading.

I think this album has some of the best songs she's ever done, but I think UV as a whole is better just because it's more cohesive. Some of the songs on Honeymoon don't seem like they should be on the same project. Like Salvatore is pretty different from everything else. MTWBT, Religion, Freak, Art Deco, and HBTB definitely feel like they should be on the same album. Terrance Loves You and The Blackest Day match each other too. Honeymoon doesn't really feel like it goes with anything else on the album.

I think so, but I got the sense from some of the songs, specifically Terrence Loves You and The Blackest Day, that she's not over Barrie. Salvatore made it sound to me like Francesco is just a temporary happy relationship and that she's only trying to enjoy the moment.

God, I love this album so much. The only two songs I find myself skipping over are Honeymoon and HBTB; I like them both but I've overplayed HBTB and Honeymoon is too somber for the mood I've been in. The song was definitely different than what I was expecting. For some reason I thought it would be another West Coast. But honestly, the melody and instrumentals kill me. I think it's one of her best songs ever. As for the lyrics, in the interview yesterday she said that some of the tracks on this album like MTWBT are meant to be more about the mood than the lyrics. I think she cared more about the sound than the words on this one.

I feel like she was inspired in the beginning, but then all the conflict with Interscope and the drama over her interviews made her feel over it.

I feel like the "baby who went away" is Barrie.

I honestly can't pick, because they're all great in different ways. I think UV and the Paradise EP are her best when it comes to writing, Honeymoon is the best when it comes to production and atmosphere, and BTD is just great in how fun it is to listen to.

I didn't hear any backup singers in the album.

Omg what? That gif is a reference to a scene in Flavor a Love where everyone was fighting and that woman came out of nowhere with "I thought the chicken was lovely" to kill the awkwardness.
