  1. Well he better make it a single now that he's having a good streak. Just to remind the general public that Lana's not dead.
  2. Other than We Can't Stop, none of those songs did well on radio. I listen to top 40 every day. Most songs aren't about drugs, and the ones that are are usually not super direct about it or have double meaning. Top 40 is conservative especially with women's music.
  3. I wouldn't have a problem with it being about drugs, I'm just saying it would be less likely to be played on radio if she goes with a straight up druggie anthem. I could see her doing a song like Habits, but happier for this. 4. True, but that song kept it cute by not mentioning drugs by names at least. Lana needs to hold back on the cocaine heart-type lines if she wants her drug anthem on the radio in the US.
  5. There's a difference between a song that mentions drugs once or twice and a song that's entirely about it, especially with the word high already in the title.
  6. The cover art being colorful makes me feel like the era really might be trying to get closer to BTD. Honeymoon sounded more like UV material than BTD material, but maybe the rest of the album will be different.
  7. Me too, but only because I feel like radio won't play a song that's openly about cocaine or weed too much.
  8. It's probably one of the videos she already shot. I feel like the song will be on iTunes and the video on Vevo on the same day.
  9. arjweilfmcladsjfuoawehlfkm when I saw the announcement and the cover art. The bitch is coming!

    Song vs. Song

Hard one but I'm going with Ride. Ride vs. Serial Killer
  12. Mainly she just introduced me to a whole new sound of music, and she gave me an appreciation for music videos. Before her, I didn't really care about music videos, but since I knew how into visuals she was, I watched her videography and got a real appreciation for that art form. But the main thing is that she opened my eyes to her unique sound, and she gave me a curiosity about discovering more great artists with uncommon sounds.
  13. My theory is she wants a September release, but the label isn't on board and she's trying to force it to happen. Announcing publicly that it was coming in September. Putting out a half-assed video of Honeymoon on Youtube (which I still think she did against Interscope's wishes). Promoting it through an Instagram. They probably want to release the album later in the year.
  14. I really feel like Lana is finally excited about putting out her new album, but Interscope doesn't care. She's seemed more excited online (at least on Instagram) and she seems to like the work, but Interscope isn't saying or doing shit. I think there are a lot of angry and frustrated conversations happening behind the scenes.
  15. It might not be her reality now, but it was when she was a teenager, and Lana seems to be really inspired by that time in her life for some reason. She mentioned in interviews that a lot of songs from BTD were inspired from her alcoholic phase and when she and her friends constantly got in trouble, which ended up with her being shipped off to boarding school. For some reason she just keeps coming to those things. And a lot of it is also about what she fantasizes about, like you said. Lana's got those fucked up fantasies about being with abusive men. She might not live it out but she's really drawn to that. I don't mind seeing a recurring theme as long as she keeps trying to push herself to write better lyrics and see how she can keep being innovative with her sounds. I'm just used to listening to a lot of artists who will have entire discographies that are just love songs, so it doesn't bother me too much that Lana's stuck on a set of themes.
  16. I mean most artists have a certain thing that they sing about constantly. Especially when it comes to love and sex. Lana's thing is about bad boys and old men and feeling lonely while you drink whiskey.
  17. In a way, I'm glad she's not too active because it gives her an aura of mystery, and there's less of a chance she'll make an ass out of herself publicly like so many other celebrities do on Twitter. But these days, I'm feeling so over the "mystery" and I just want her to get online and Tweet or post on Instagram like all the other famous people.
  18. Same. I like Honeymoon a lot now, but it took me several listens to get into it. I want her to do a few songs that just hit me the first time I hear them.
  19. I'll only be here for this if it's similar to the Body Electric part of Tropico, except set in the Forbidden Forest, and The Weeknd's antlers are put to use by him playing one of those half horse, half human things, except he would be half moose/elk/reindeer.
