For some reason, the part where she says "I'm an emotional machiiiineee" reminds me of Hermit the Frog... I think it's something about those really bizarre, high-pitched vocals that does it for me. The vocals even sort of has a Mowgli's Road vibe, so I'm definitely seeing where TFJ comparisons are coming from. It's like the vocals of TFJ, the production/poppy sound of EH and the lyrical content of FROOT. Excited to hear the full song, especially since the production & vocals sound so good! Plus, remember that this is not the lead single (or potentially even a single at all) so it's probably not the best song on the album. She said she just wanted to perform it because she co-wrote it with Broods.

Found a much better recording of the live performance online: Fuck, those vocals are actually to die for! Yes some of the lyrics are a tad lazy but honestly the delivery is amazing so I can't complain, plus at this point I'll take anything... it's been 84 years. Her vocals sounded SO good when she was singing Obsessions live at the piano. Hope her next album delivers those kind of vocals because WOW

Honestly, I think this is her best song. Ultraviolence is shook. Off to the Races was found dead. Summertime Sadness can't find her wig. Honeymoon is dead and buried. Lust for Life is no longer with us. Cherry choked. Brooklyn Baby had a heart attack. High By The Beach was killed. Shades of Cool fell off a cliff. Even West Coast drowned. Fuck. Venice Bitch really did that.

Y'all saying that her label will drop her are just being dumb. Lana is one of their best selling artists with the largest cult followings of all time. She might not be having huge hits right now like Dua Lipa but the biggest difference is that Lana will be an artist that people still listen to in 30 years from now, while probably most of us will have forgotten about Dua Lipa because her music isn't timeless and sophisticated like Lana's. Don't get me wrong, I love Dua Lipa too but she's nowhere near as good as Lana, and y'all know it. Lana is incredibly prolific, working on new music all the time, and her label knows us rapid gay stans will always buy her albums and make them a shit tonne of money. Besides, how many artists can sell as many concert tickets as Lana? Not many. So honestly leave Lana the fuck alone and enjoy her best era in her whole career.

Honestly don't believe that website. Pretty sure they've been wrong before about new releases. Plus, I doubt she called it "Baby"... Marina would never give a song such a basic title, but Eclipse has constantly referred to it as "Someone Else's Baby" so I'm more inclined to believe that title. Besides, I don't think this song is even produced by Clean Bandit... Either way, I hope we're getting a new song soon! We've been waiting patiently for years, it's about time to come through Marina!

Do y'all remember when Lana released Honeymoon and then followed it up by High By The Beach and we never understood how such two totally different songs would fit into the same album?... Well, I'm thinking now that maybe the next song Venice Bitch is actually going to be a bop... or at least more upbeat. I doubt that all the songs on the album will have the exact same tempo and sound as MAC, Lana loves spicing it up on every record. I mean, she literally goes from songs like Fucked My Way Up to the Top to Old Money right after the other so I don't doubt she'd have some slower, 'raw' songs like MAC and then some other slightly more midtempo/upbeat songs. Also, I can totally see MAC as opening the album. Something about those closing lines, "Are you ready for it?" screams opening song... like, are you ready to dive into this new era of music with me?

But Lana has always been more of an album artist, the only songs she tends to release that aren't part of an album are official soundtracks for films (e.g. Y&B, OUAD).

I fucking knew the beachy vibes at the end of Get Free were going to be an indication of the direction she would take for the next album, and honestly I'm SO FUCKING HERE FOR THIS. Give me those heavenly coastal surf noir folky vibes.

Honestly, I hope no one fucking leaks anything else. If you really respect Marina you'd let her have her epic comeback on her own terms. Hopefully she'll give us some news soon, I mean there's only a few months left before the end of the year and we know we're getting new music this year and I doubt she'd release it around Christmas so we'll probably be getting one or two songs soon anyway, so just be patient and wait and don't fuck this up for Marina. thanks xx
