I didn't explicitly point these two things out in my post because I thought they were self-evident tbh.

I'm sure this probably still happens a lot, especially with teachers overseeing extracurricular activities, but I don't think this is generally considered an appropriate situation for a teachers to put themselves in.

Sheesh, I was going to post something, but I realized that it's more like a fanfic.

Actually there is another hint that her relationship with Mr. Campbell may not have been completely kosher. In one of the interviews in Evil's piece she says that she was in his car when he played her the Biggie song. Having attended such a school myself, I find it unusual that a female student would take a ride with a male teacher. Not saying it can't happen for innocent reasons, but unusual in a boarding school, specially in 2003.

praise thee, evilentity, you are a master detective!!!!

i think it's pretty obvious that in the daily star interview she changed the teacher's gender because she was starting to be well-known, whereas in the repeat fanzine interview she was more open because she didn't think many people would pay attention - and much less analyze every minute detail - of what she shared.
    thank you, evil!

I think it's time for us to reevaluate Sirens at least and pick out some teacher plotlines...

He's got the grin of a very old man

Madrigal, boo, don't be naive. They deff fucked.

TPD, you always answer my prayers! That's really good info. That does worry me about some of the songs I've classified as Jimmy because if "heavy metal king" is a lyric that can apply to Mike...Why do you so those three songs are about him more than one of the others?

Something else we don't consider enough from Axl Rose Husband: "Record executive, I need you."

Found an interview- Lana- but it explains Diet Mt Dew and possibly Lana's unreleased/unleaked song "Greenwich"- which proves, at least to me, that Diet Mt Dew, Axl Rose Husband, and Greenwich are about Mike.

"Diet Mtn Dew I wrote at a time when I was really happy. I’d met someone who was perfect for me, and one of the funny things at the time was that he actually drank Diet Mtn Dew, just like me and my dad. I had never met anyone who drank specifically Diet Mtn Dew! We had taken a trip to Greenwich, Connecticut, and it was time to go home and he said “Diet Mtn Dew babe? New York city?” For some reason I just… That was the only line I had “Diet Mtn Dew baby, New York city…” Then he was like “you’re so pretty” as I smiled."

    That made me smile

Also smh at her calling KOL & DtMTDEW fluff

"To be honest, Diet Mtn Dew and Kinda Outta Luck aren’t even going to be on the record. I sort of put them up on the internet because I could, because they wouldn’t be on the record. In my mind they’re sort of just fluff. The real record is different. It’s a bit darker, but it’s beautiful."

I was wondering about that. Like the girl she wants to be and the girl she is.. the girl she's supposed to be and the girl she's become?? Or the wife....

Also, I'm starting to create a conspiracy theory that Lana + Barrie are engaged, or maybe already married. I know she's said she wears that ring because she likes it/doesn't want people to hit on her, but she's lied before and I wouldn't put it past her tbh!!!!

Ride has both answered some questions and added some.. In a way, it was like she was admitting that she was a stripper + prostitute - the road's girl, the world's girl- but who do those men represent, if anyone??

Updating this, it's such a messy thing to keep up with. Only Lana would write a song with one relationship in the chorus and another in the verses

Whenever people talk about Radio I always think back to this interview. it's such a sweet interview. Hmm.. I wonder which one of them (if any of the 'main guys') it is?

I need all interested in this topic to watch this interview NOW. I've never seen it:

So I guess "Radio" is about someone who came back into her life--who thought that they were done but now they want her even more?

if she was any type of substance abuser or addict than she definitely was at risk for an overdose

i read so many interviews last year and never anticipated a lana forum, thus i didn't save most of the links but those two are the first that came to mind - thanks EE! also...if some lana songs are biographical, well..."heavy hitter", anyone?

I was lounging at the Chateau Marmont
    Glimmering by the swimming pool
My man walked in like a slow motion movie
    I said "You're so cool"
    I heard a man screaming
    Lights, camera, action
    I c-c-can't remember what happened
    I overdose,
You throw me over your shoulder
I was dying, you were screaming
    Open up that Lambourghini

she has also said that Yayo was the prequel to VG

if i can find it, i think i recall her saying that she was saved by god a million times and that she literally died for a few seconds after an overdose (this was kind of implied). i like you guys's poetic interpretation better, but the dying she refers to may be both figurative or symbolic AND alternately literal.

I too think that the three songs are about her three main loves, but each song is not necessarily completely tied to a specific individual, but rather an amalgam. VG is probably more about MM, but it could also include the time she spent with K (would fit with the narrative of them being on their own in a trailer, where the guy would be playing video games), In the same way her attraction to someone tattooed like JG might have begun with K, and BTD could be talking about both of them. Who knows, but as someone said, she seems to be a million piece puzzle.

YES! it really does. her 3 great loves, each represented by one of the songs. I agree: BTD-Jimmy / VG-Mike / Blue Jeans-K.

isn't it awesome how - even though lana can be vague and dodgy - she has given us good clues?
