@@butterflies I know you already know about this but come here anyway xd

I don't care about producers that much, I'm just happy we're getting another song.

Pretty sure that she and Interscope agreed to abandon UV very quickly. After all the budget has been cut and she managed to release the record she wanted, they have probably agreed to let her release it, but to come up with a new record the next year. At least this is what it looks like to me and then to pair her with a successful producer.

Not complaining though, there might be a chance of gettin a few radio friendly songs. I could need some Lana at work when the radio is on.

Some of us love thinking about both

Ultraviolence was a bit 'heavy' so it would be nice if she went back to a lighter sound for the next album. The direction it sounds like she's going in sounds amazing and exactly what I want from Lana. Beach anthems!!

    This description is perfect -

Yeah I couldn't agree more. In the end, whatever Lana puts on the table it's gonna be of great quality as almost everything she's released so far. I'm quite confident, I don't know what this album will sound like but I'm positively sure it's gonna slay me back and forth.

Well aka is sort of a mix of sugary summer pop and jazz (as the phrase 'surf noir' suggests) and that's really what I predict this record will sound like- Lana going back to her roots.

Then again when I first heard the title "Ultraviolence" I was sure Lana was giving us some "Beyoncé" esque dark, ethereal beats with lavish production. She went the other way and still managed to exceed my expectations in terms of quality so I'm past the point of questioning Lana's methods. This bitch can do no wrong.

    @@ilovetati Lana goes Bardot

The fact that you guys are far more interested in her hair than the music itself

But whatever, BTD Lana is never coming back (I mean sonically) so get lost if you want Emile's overproduction and tiring samples all over again. I'd like a hot summery album as the title MTWBT suggests, but if we keep into account what Lana said it's gonna be jazzy and slow. I'm happy with either of them tbh

The title makes me visualise two girls with sunglasses on, hair blowing in the wind, sitting under a tree watching boys at a skate park, in black and white? every single time i hear the words 'Music To Watch Boys To' i instantly get that visual. every. time.

Music To Watch Boys To just gives me a vision of smoking cigarettes and sucking on lollipops while in the front seat of an El Camino with your Mexican homegirl
watching the boys play basketball lmao

    Yes, please.

I'm tired of this basic bitch causal white t shirt..jeans image.

One of the reasons, she underperformed tbh this era. This imagery, videos are just not strong enough to gain new interest from the gp.

    Everything is so bland.

Nor should listening to -- and liking -- a song about that be considered gay.  (Says one of the 27 other loyal straight male fans.)

The more I think of this 'Revenge Of Lizzy Grant' idea the more I fall in love with it I mean how cool would it be if she transformed her old self into her alter-ego for this next album? It would literally blow everyone away, especially the ones who called -and keep calling- her a fake... It's probably never going to happen but the profile pic Lana uploaded and the photograph Chuck shared are feeding this little dream of mine haha

This is what makes her amazing. Her juxtaposition of different genres that are nothing alike to form one fluent piece of music.

Agreed...with a bit of a soft rock tinge. As I said before, I'm thinking Dusty Springfield meets Nina Simone meets Stevie Nicks. Lana loves genre clusterfucks....her versatility is awesome.

I think the Jazz lana is going for is more of an upbeat Amy whinhouse type sound with dramatic vocals and instrumentals . Nothing like gagas new stuff . Hopefully her new songs have better lyrics than "I'm a sad girl, I'm a bad girl X 20"

Lana will most likely change her image at least minimally for the new album. Even Dan Auerbach noted that she crafts each album as a complete project, incorporating the visuals and sound exactly how she wants.

And what is this crazy talk about jazz being boring? Maybe Gaga's ridiculously overblown impersonation of a jazz singer, which seems to be the only thing from the genre that some people here know, but not real jazz.

Nobody likes jazz, it's boring. Cinematic with big beats, that's something.

Well, fashion-wise, I don't think the Lana 'image' will ever change drastically... she dyes her hair back and forth frequently, from black to red to brown to blonde, but musically is where the focus is at. I definitely think she'll take a jazzier approach for LP4, but not anything like Cheek to Cheek...

I forgot about blonde as an option. Hmm. I just want something thoughtful and authentic to her.

I'd love her no matter what direction she went as long as it was clear she was still in control of her output (and, of course, as long as I still enjoyed the music) but I'm actually elated at the suggestion she may again explore her "surf noir" genre (still my favourite phrase of hers) as this could lead to some great radio-friendly hits (I'm aware Lana has never prioritised charting but hey I haven't heard a good song on the radio in years, it would be awful generous of her to provide us with a good, well written jam...even if it did mean she'd have to tolerate an increase in those awful tumblr fans she was able to shake off with UV) because I get the feeling her label was just getting more and more irritated with her when she got stubborn (it seems the failings of many great minds was in their backbones) and this may repair her relationship with interscope. It's always inspiring when your idol stands up for themselves but not at the cost of Lana's music.

But like I said whatever direction she chooses, I'll be happy as long as she is.
