At the state level there has been recently very active campaigns for banning books in schools and public libraries that contain anything “sexual”. this may seem well-meaning to outsiders, but the reality is they are using that language to target books that teach about the body/developing bodies, anything queer, and really anything who’s message they can twist to fit their narrative.
