I'm not sure if something so blatant as overthrowing the government is a possibility because all branches of the federal government have been successfully taken over by conservatives. Trump was democratically elected (lol) and has the legislative and judiciary branches of government on his side. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the government has already been overthrown and it wasn't with a coup d'etat, it was the consequence of decades of conservative strategy and a lack of adequate response from the incompetent democratic party. The media (both social media and traditional news outlets) collectively bending the knee is another unfortunate sign that the takeover has already happened. As for Trump staying in office, part of fascism is a strict interpretation of law for enemies of the state and an elastic interpretation for those who already have power. If they want, the government can interpret already existing law or create new law to forever disadvantage the opposing party or keep Trump and Vance in power forever. It's hard to predict the future on this because it depends on what exactly Trump wants to do (because he can do whatever he wants now basically).
